Sitaare Zameen Par Overseas Box Office: Aamir Khan starrer falls back to Earth after brief orbit
Sitaare Zameen Par grossed USD 350K approx on its first Monday overseas, pushing its four-day total to USD 3.65 million (Rs. 31.50 crore). Adding Rs. 77 crore from the domestic box office, the worldwide gross stands at Rs. 108.50 crore. The film took four days to cross the century mark globally.
The Monday hold is rather ordinary, not disastrous, but pretty much kills hopes for a good final number for it. The issue isn't so much the drop in percentage terms, but the already low base. At this level of business, a normal drop just doesn't cut it; you need stronger holds to build momentum. The film had a soft launch on Friday, but an impressive Saturday surge raised hopes for a good finish. However, Sunday saw a typical drop, and Monday has brought the numbers down to very low levels. After that Saturday bump, USD 10 million seemed like an easy target for the film, but now it's starting to look like a much steeper climb.
The performance is middling across the board. Gulf, which saw decent numbers on the weekend, is also down to low levels on Monday, with just USD 90K coming in yesterday. The biggest letdown, however, is the United States. Historically speaking, this is the driving market for Aamir Khan, while here the numbers are below par, just barely ahead of Housefull 5, which itself didn't do well.
There is also another perspective to look at, that a couple of days ago, the outlook for Sitaare Zameen Par was far worse. It seemed almost dead on arrival, a complete non-starter. While the film hasn't exactly turned things around in a big way, it has at least managed to avoid total rejection.
The Territorial Breakdown for Sitaare Zameen Par is as follows:

Inside Vivek Oberoi's luxurious Dubai house: Lake view, swimming pool, organic garden, it's worth Rs...
They say home is where the heart is, and this saying goes true for a celebrated Bollywood actor who, despite having a luxurious house in Dubai, his heart still belongs to the dream city-Mumbai. The actor that we are talking about is none other than the Saathiya Fame Vivek Oberoi. He recently opened up in an interview and spoke about his Dubai 'home away from home', which his wife has created. Vivek now lives in his luxurious and grand home in Dubai; however, he still feels that his heart belongs in Mumbai, and that's where he considers his real home. He also shared that every time he travels to Mumbai, his emotional bond with the city makes him never want to return to Dubai. However, he also appreciated his Dubai life, and for the love of his Indian roots in Mumbai, he shares that he has managed to balance the best of both worlds in his new Dubai house. To give an Indianized touch to his Dubai house, Vivek and his wife Priyanka have surrounded their house with lush greenery, added a touch of desi artwork, and even have their own organic garden that grows curry leaves and vegetables inside it. Exuding panache and his memories of childhood, Vivek reveals that his house was entirely designed and selected by his wife, Priyanka. 'I didn't even select the location of this house. All of this – the house, the interior, and the design – all credit goes to Priyanka; she is the boss. Both of us love paintings, but I was the one who chose all the art for the house, all 'desi' painters. The rest of it is all Priyanka. She is in love with the whole 'vintage' and 'homey' style of décor. We are also surrounded by a lot of greenery, and my wife is a 'constant' gardener.' Vivek's house has a lot of vintage decor and desi artwork. Located in the scenic and upscale Meadows neighbourhoods, his Dubai house ranges somewhere between ₹11 crore to ₹50 crore. Entailing many luxurious amenities, the house offers a scenic view of a lake, has a patio, and a swimming pool. Besides being architecturally, his home away from home is also a reflection of his early memories in Mumbai, and it pays a homage to his desi roots. Today, Vivek Oberoi leads a luxurious life with a whopping net worth of approximately Rs. 1200 crores.
