The teams were locked at 0-0 at the break.
South African Under-20 men's team beat Morocco 1-0 to claim the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title for the first time in history.
Gomolemo Kekana scored the only goal of the match in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations final played at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday night.

Amajita goalkeeper Fletcher Smythe-Lowe was the busier of the goalkeepers in the first half, but he produced some great saves to deny Illias Boumassaoudi in the 21st minute and then Mouad Dahak three minutes later.
It was the South Africans, however, that had the first crack at goal through Jody Ah Shene who pounced on a loose pass in the third minute, but Yanis Benchaouch did well to make a good save.
Kekana tried his luck from range on the half-hour mark, but his shot went wide of goal.
Smythe-Lowe was called into action again in the 43rd minute, but the young goalkeeper did well to make a save to deny Jones El Abdellaoui.
The teams were locked at 0-0 at the break.
Amajita started the second half the better of the sides and it did not come as a surprise when they took the lead in the 70th minute through Kekana.
Following a long clearance from Smythe-Lowe the ball landed on the path of Shandre Campbell who then passed it to Kekana who composed himself before unleashing a powerful shot that beat Benchaouch hands down.
Othmane Maamma wasted a great chance to grab the equaliser for Morocco in the 83rd minute, but his header went wide of goal.
Shakeel April had a chance to wrap the game up for Amajita in the 88th minute when he outpaced the Moroccan defender, but was denied by Benchaouch.
Earlier in the evening, Nigeria clinched the bronze medal after beating hosts Egypt in penalty shootout. The game had to be decided on penalties after it ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Forget Xhosa, Jesse Kriel shows off impressive Japanese!

Jesse Kriel is known for being a perfectionist when it comes to many aspects of his life; fitness, his figure, and his performance on the pitch. Which is why a clip of him mastering the language of Japanese comes as no surprise to anyone. The Springbok star plays for the Canon Eagles in Yokohama, Japan. In a clip posted on TikTok, Jesse Kriel and fellow Springbok Faf de Klerk were interviewed by a Japanese rugby commentator. Like Jesse, Faf lives and plays in the country for the Canon Eagles. But while Faf appeared to botch the language, Jesse spoke it fluently! In fact, the centreback conversed at length with his Japanese pal. Take a look… @lekkeryudo I'll definitely come back to South Africa!!! In a clip posted on social media by SuperSport, Jess was interviewed by Springboks assistant coach Mzwandile Stick on their team's 2024 season. Speaking Xhosa, Mzwandile asked Jesse how he felt about winning 11 out of 13 games. The athletic player – known for his chiselled physique – responded: 'Ndicel' i13 out of 13 [I wanted 13 out of 13].' He added in English: 'We dropped the ball, and we're very disappointed. It's small margins. Next season, we want to push to go even better'. He added, thanking Mzwandile for his hard work, 'Ngiyabonga Mqeqeshi [thank you, boss].' Jesse Kriel – who was born in Cape Town and lived in KwaZulu-Natal – is fluent in English, Afrikaans, and Xhosa. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . Sipho Mbule's agent confirms offer to Kaizer Chiefs

Sipho Mbule's name is once again making headlines, this time as his agent, Mike Makaab, confirms that the 27-year-old midfielder has officially been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Makaab reversed an earlier stance taken in a FARPost article, where he had dismissed reports linking Mbule with a surprise move to Naturena ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season. In a sharp clarification, Makaab stated: 'Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club(Kaizer Chiefs) to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.' Mbule's time at Mamelodi Sundowns has come to a premature end. Although his contract technically runs until 30 June 2025, the club decided not to activate a two-year extension clause. According to reports, ongoing concerns about his conduct away from the pitch influenced that decision. Signed in 2022 from SuperSport United, Mbule was once seen as a marquee acquisition for the Brazilians. However, his performances never quite lived up to the hype during his underwhelming stint at Chloorkop. In a bid to rediscover his form, Mbule joined Sekhukhune United on a season-long loan. Under coach Lehlohonolo Seema, he showed early promise, scoring twice and assisting three times in 17 appearances across all competitions. But his return to form was short-lived. Reports emerged that Mbule arrived at training under the influence of alcohol, reigniting the same concerns that plagued his time at Sundowns. Mbule's exit has sparked widespread discussion on social media and among Kaizer Chiefs supporters. Some fans see him as a creative spark the club desperately needs, while others warn that his off-field track record makes him too much of a gamble. Now, with his agent confirming that the ball is in Chiefs' court, the club faces a pivotal decision. Will Kaizer Chiefs take a chance on Sipho Mbule?
