Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR's War 2 Telugu Rights Sold For Whopping Rs 80 Crore
War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is one of the most talked-about films this year. The latest update is that the Telugu theatrical rights of the movie have been sold for a huge Rs 80 crore. According to a report by Gulte, producer Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainments has bought the rights for the Telugu-speaking states. Earlier, Yash Raj Films was planning to handle the release in that region, but since Jr NTR has a massive fan following in Telugu states, they decided to team up with a local distributor instead.
Sources say the makers first quoted Rs 100 crore for the rights, but the final deal was closed at Rs 80 crore. This isn't the first time Sithara Entertainments has bet big on Jr NTR, they also bought the Telugu rights for Devara, his upcoming film with Janhvi Kapoor, for Rs 120 crore.
War 2 is a sequel to the 2019 hit War, and is part of the YRF spy universe. The makers recently released the film's teaser on Jr NTR's birthday, along with character posters featuring Hrithik, NTR, and Kiara Advani. The film is already creating a lot of excitement before its release.
The teaser was strategically dropped by Yash Raj Films (YRF) as a special treat to mark Jr NTR's birthday on May 20. The sneak peek offered fans a taste of the action and intense face-offs that await them in the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. Although it keeps many plot details under wraps, the teaser promises a riveting story, explosive stunts and epic battles between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, known for movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Brahmastra and more, War 2 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious films in the franchise. It is slated to hit theatres on August 14 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Hrithik Roshan returns as Kabir in the sequel to War. This time, he'll be joined by Kiara Advani and Jr NTR, who play important roles in the film. In the first part, Hrithik starred alongside Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor.

Maa box office collection day 6: Kajol's mythological horror set to beat Shahid Kapoor's Deva, will hit Rs 25 cr in one week
Maa box office collection day 6: Kajol's big screen comeback film, the mythological horror-thriller Maa, opened to decent numbers at the box office. The film, which hit theatres on June 27, has been maintaining a steady pace despite a packed marketplace. After making headlines for becoming the highest grossing film led by a female actor this year, Maa is set to be Kajol's 9th-highest-grossing movie. The film is facing tough competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par and Brad Pitt-starrer F1. According to the early estimates on industry tracker Sacnilk, Maa earned around Rs 1.75 crore India net on July 2, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 24.9 crore. The film has still managed to beat the lifetime collection of several 2025 releases (Emergency – Rs 20.48 crore, Fateh – Rs 16 crore). It is now expected to beat Shahid Kapoor's Deva (Rs 32.7 crore), which released earlier this year. In its opening weekend, Maa collected Rs 4.65 crore, Rs 6 crore, and Rs 7 crore on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively. On day six, Maa had an overall 10.13% Hindi occupancy at the theatres on Wednesday – with morning shows at 6.03%, afternoon shows at 11.42%, evening shows standing at 10.94%, and night shows at 12.12%. The theatre footfall might witness a marginal improvement over the weekend. As per Sacnilk, the highest theatre occupancy was in the Chennai region. ALSO READ | Kajol admits she's like the 'Maa' from K3G who'd whistle and hoot for kids Nysa, Yug when they're on stage: 'It really embarrasses them' Maa belongs to the supernatural thriller universe of her husband Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan, which released last year. Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan earned Rs 14.75 crore on its opening day itself and had an overall lifetime domestic collection of Rs 147.97 crore. Co-produced by Devgn Films and directed by Vishal Furia, Maa also features Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma, and Jitin Gulati in pivotal roles. A part of SCREEN's review of Maa read, 'The production design with its saturated colours make 'Maa' a vivid experience. The forest just behind the haveli, whose gnarled trees hide old bones, the faded faces of the women who have suffered at the hands of the 'daitya' (demon) called Raktbeej, the miasma of fear which the village wears like a shroud, all have presence. This is a film which is clearly well-intentioned. Smashing patriarchy is a task that films need to keep taking up, and Kajol has the heft to get the job done. Talking up menstruation, still considered taboo in this day and age, as a matter-of-fact discussion between ma-and-beti is a stand-out thread. But the writing is bland, and there's nothing new in the CGI (computer generated images) which is extensively used.'

Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 13: Aamir Khan doubles down on no OTT release, film passes Rs 200 crore worldwide
RS Prasanna's coming-of-age sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan, is slowly but surely progressing at the box office. On its 13th day of release, it registered its lowest single-day earnings yet. Despite that setback, the film has managed to cross the Rs 130 crore mark in India. On Wednesday, Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 2.75 crore, which is a minor drop from its Monday and Tuesday figures of Rs 3.75 crore. That was, in turn, a massive drop from its weekend earnings of Rs 12.6 crore and Rs 14.5 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The film had crossed the Rs 100 crore mark over its second weekend. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the current box office collection of Sitaare Zameen Par in India stands at Rs 132.9 crore. A couple of days after surpassing the lifetime domestic earnings of Salman Khan's action film Sikandar (Rs 129.95 crore), it's yet to beat that of Akshay Kumar's Sky Force, which amassed Rs 134.93 crore earlier this year. While Sitaare Zameen Par currently faces competition from Vishal Furia's mythological horror film Maa, starring Kajol, it'll have fresh contenders to compete with starting tomorrow. Anurag Basu's romantic anthology Metro… In Dino and the Hindi dubbed version of Scarlett Johansson-starrer Jurassic World Rebirth hit Indian cinemas this Friday on July 4. Another factor Sitaare Zameen Par has benefitted from is its producer Aamir's steadfast decision to not release his film on OTT. At a special screening of the film organized for differently-abled students in Mumbai, Aamir thanked the Multiplex Association of India for honouring him for his decision. 'Since I haven't sold my film to OTT and it's not coming on OTT, perhaps the theatre owners and exhibitors from all over India want to felicitate me for the step I've taken. I'm also very happy that they thought of this,' Aamir told the media at the event. The special screening was also attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife, singer Amruta Fadnavis. Last month, President Droupadi Murmu also watched Sitaare Zameen Par at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. The film, featuring neurodivergent actors, weaves in the message of diversity, equity and inclusion, the President's office had said in a post on X. Sitaare Zameen Par follows the journey of a basketball coach (Aamir), who mentors 10 differently-abled individuals. Alongside Aamir, the film also stars Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Meet star who romance Aishwarya Rai, once challenged many stars, then lost all his money, cleaned toilets, drive taxis to earn money, name is....
The South cinema has given numerous seasoned actors to the audience. From Rajinikanth to Kamal Haasan, there have been various actors who not only won hearts in the South but also across the globe. Today, we will talk about one of those actors who was fondly called the heartthrob of the 1990s. He made his debut with Kadhal Desam, following which he delivered several superhits and established himself as a leading star. However, there is a saying that the faster you climb the ladder of success, the quicker you come down as well — and something similar happened with this actor. The man in discussion, after being hailed as a leading hero, was soon limited to supporting roles and cameos after some of his projects flopped. If you are wondering who we are talking about, then he is none other than Mirza Abbas Ali. Who is Actor Mirza Abbas Ali? Mirza Abbas Ali was born on May 21, 1975, and predominantly worked in Tamil and Telugu cinema, along with a few Malayalam and Hindi films. He featured in notable successful films including VIP (1997), Pooveli (1998), Jeans (1998), Padayappa (1999), Suyamvaram (1999), Malabar Police (1999), and Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000). However, there was a time when Mirza faced both highs and lows. In an interview, the actor revealed that, devastated after failing his Class 10 exams and being dumped by his girlfriend, he contemplated ending his life. However, he chose not to and gave himself a second chance. After deciding to start fresh, Mirza tried his luck in the world of cinema and did find success. He became an overnight star. There was a time when he worked with actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Tabu, and more. Sadly, he then vanished from the industry. Mirza Abbas Ali faced bankruptcy not once or twice, but four times, forcing him to work as a taxi driver and clean toilets to make ends meet. In an interview, Abbas said, 'Following my initial achievements, some of my movies faced failure, leaving me financially destitute and unable to afford even basic necessities like rent or cigarettes. I soon approached producer RB Choudary, requesting work. He offered me the opportunity to be part of the film Pooveli. However, I eventually left films because I got bored. I wasn't enjoying my work.' After 2015, Mirza Abbas Ali eventually left acting and relocated to New Zealand.
