Price's 22 help Washington State down Loyola Marymount 94-77 in West Coast Conference Tournament
PARADISE, Nev. (AP) — Ethan Price had 22 points in No. 6 seed Washington State's 94-77 victory against seventh-seeded Loyola Marymount on Saturday night in the West Coast Conference Tournament.
Washington State plays No. 3 San Francisco in the quarterfinals on Sunday. The teams split the regular season series with each team winning on its home floor.
Price added five rebounds for the Cougars (19-13). Nate Calmese also scored 22 points while shooting 9 for 17, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc and had seven assists. Rihards Vavers shot 4 for 5 from beyond the arc and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line to finish with 16 points.
The Lions (17-15) were led in scoring by Myron Amey Jr., who finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Jevon Porter added 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals for Loyola Marymount. Jan Vide had 10 points.
Washington State took the lead a little more than a minute into the game and did not relinquish it. Price led their team in scoring with 20 points in the first half to help put the Cougars up 47-39 at the break. Washington State extended its lead to 58-40 during the second half, fueled by an 8-0 scoring run. Calmese scored a team-high 13 points in the second half as their team closed out the win.

The signing of the Grant of Rights is a signal the league's long awaited media rights package will be revealed very soon, potentially within the week according to Dellenger. Dellenger also reports the media rights package is expected to feature as many as four different partners, and that having the package solidified will pave the way for the conference to offer invitations to expansion targets. Advertisement The conference has a temporary deal with CBS, The CW, and ESPN to cover Oregon State and Washington State football in 2025, which could be an indication of which partners are involved in the permanent deal. Currently the Pac-12 has eight full-time members but only seven in college football, meaning they will need at least one more to reach the FBS minimum. Texas State is considered the frontrunner for that final spot at the moment now that talks with the AAC schools - including Memphis, Tulane, and Rice - have died down. UNLV was considered a potential target as well although that is far less likely at the moment, especially with ongoing mediation between the Pac-12 and Mountain West over poaching fees. Multiple national reports say a prominent step in the rebuild of the Pac-12 will be announced soon. Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reported June 9 that all eight members of the new Pac-12 have signed their Grant of Rights and membership agreements. Dellenger says that signals a step toward finalizing the media rights package. Advertisement He says that media rights deal could be "in the coming days." Dellenger reports that as many as four different partners could be part of the package. The conference announced April 29 a deal for the 2025 college football season when Oregon State and Washington State are the only two members of the conference. That deal involves CBS, ESPN and The CW, and many expect that trio to be part of the new, long-term Pac-12 media rights deal. John Canzano reports the Pac-12 leaders are meeting June 10. Chris Vannini of The Athletic also reports the Grant of Rights has been signed and a TV deal is expected to be announced "soon." There are currently eight schools that are part of the Pac-12 rebuild: Oregon State, Washington State, Colorado State, Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Utah State and Gonzaga (non-football member). SUNRISE, Fla. — Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck has won the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP and the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender, becoming the first at the position to do so since Carey Price a decade ago. Hellebuyck was unveiled as the top MVP vote-getter on an awards show Thursday night prior to Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, hosted by actor and former Arizona State wide receiver Isaiah Mustafa. Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl finished second in the Hart voting and Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov third, a single point ahead of Colorado's reigning MVP Nathan MacKinnon, as chosen by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association. Hellebuyck was a landslide winner of the Vezina as picked by general managers, receiving 31 of 32 first-place votes. Hellebuyck won the Vezina for a second year in a row and for the third time in his career.
