Police clueless about fraudsters in fake Schengen visa case
T'puram: A Kanyakumari native's arrest for possessing a fake Schengen visa has left investigators puzzled, as they struggle to identify the fraudsters behind the scam. Sujin S, 38, of Manjalumoodu, was arrested on May 20 after being deported from Sharjah. Youth on bike rammed by dumper in Gurgaon, dies
Gurgaon: A 22-year-old man died after a dumper truck rammed into his motorcycle near Golf Course Road Extension in Sector 57. The deceased, Ashish of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, was returning from work when the accident occurred around 6:30am. The driver of the truck fled the scene, and a hunt to nab him is underway, said police. Ashish's brother, Deepak, said that he used to do night duty at a rubber moulding factory in Faridabad. "After returning from work, he told me that he was going to meet his friend in Manesar. I asked him to come early. But destiny had something else written for him." According to police, Ashish was riding his motorcycle when the dumper, allegedly driven rashly and at a high speed, hit him from behind. After finding his body on the road near the Bikaner outlet on Golf Course Extension Road, passersby informed the police. The vehicle number of the dumper was later identified, a police officer said. After the cops arrived at the scene, they took the body to the Civil Hospital, Sector 10. An autopsy will be conducted, said police. An FIR was registered under Sections 281 ( rash driving ) and 106 (death by negligence) of the BNS. The investigation officer, Dinesh Kumar, said efforts are on to trace the absconding dumper driver and take appropriate legal action. Diesel engine boats banned on Narmada river in Omkareshwar
Indore: In a bid to protect the Narmada river and its aquatic life, use and operation of diesel engine boats has been prohibited within Omkareshwar Nagar Panchayat limits of Khandwa district. The restrictive order, issued by Collector Rishav Gupta under the provisions of Section 163 of BNS, comes into effect from Friday. The decision came amid growing concern over severe water, air, and noise pollution caused by diesel engine boats, which also pose a threat to aquatic ecosystem. The decision to impose the ban was taken during a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), which was also attended by public representatives. Now, only electric engine boats and paddle-powered boats will be permitted to ferry devotees on the Narmada river. Additionally, certain low-emission, low-noise petrol engines meeting specific or superior specifications will also be allowed.
