Nebraska Heisman winner believes in Dylan Raiola
A former Nebraska Heisman winner believes Dylan Raiola can return the Huskers to national prominence. Eric Crouch made the comments about the sophomore quarterback to Hurrdat Sports.
Dylan is a competitor. He's got a tremendous arm. He's super smart. He's talented and strong. He's going to do great things and I know that the challenge has always been for him, is trying to surround him with playmakers. The program is being built back up and that's what he enjoys. I know that Dylan is in the right place. He had a lot of choices in where to go to college... but I think his heart is in Nebraska and he wanted to be able to be the guy that could bring this program back to dominance again and I think he's the one that can do that.
Crouch played at Nebraska from 1997 to 2001. In 43 games, he ran for 3,434 yards and 59 touchdowns while throwing for 4,481 yards and 29 touchdowns with 25 interceptions.
He also won the 2001 Heisman Trophy over Florida's Rex Grossman, Miami's Ken Dorsey, and Oregon's Joey Harrington. That season, he ran for 1115 yards and 18 touchdowns while throwing for 1,510 yards, seven touchdowns, and ten interceptions.
Last season, Raiola played in all 13 games for the Cornhuskers. He threw for 2,819 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Nebraska will open the 2025 college football season on Thursday, August 28, when the Huskers face the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The kickoff time has yet to be determined.

The Hurricanes will be a tough team for Michigan to beat here. 'Hulking wide receiver with above-the-rim athleticism that makes him a uniquely dangerous target, especially down in the red zone,' Russell's scouting report reads. 'Owns more of a slender build, but has measured over 6-foot-5 multiple times and is blessed with a near 6-foot-10 wingspan. Isn't exactly the most polished route runner at this stage, but creates separation with unexpected suddenness for such a longer strider. Superb body control tends to create even more of a disadvantage for defensive backs as he wins 50-50 battles with timing and positioning.' After Charles Woodson finished up his Michigan career, he was drafted fourth overall in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. Woodson ended up playing in the NFL for 17 years, and he also spent a good amount of time playing with the Green Bay Packers. Advertisement During his NFL career, Woodson went to nine Pro Bowls, he was a four-time First-Team All-Pro, he won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1998 and NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2009, and Woodson is a Super Bowl champion. He had a sensational career. Woodson is now in the Hall of Fame. Charles Woodson is one of the most storied Michigan football players of all time. He accomplished a ton with the program during his college days, and then he went on to have a sensational professional career as well. He is one of the best players to ever wear the winged helmet. Now, Charles Woodson Jr. is nearing his college football career. He has a lot of work to do to become as good as his dad, but he seems to be on his way to a special career as well. After the success that Woodson had at Michigan, the Wolverines would be thrilled to welcome another member of the family to the program. He was taken out after the third for what the Rays called "precautionary reasons." He threw 57 pitches and gave up four runs, three earned, on three hits and a walk. The team said he would undergo further evaluation. The Marlins won 11-10 in 10 innings.
