Spied! Ford Explorer Tremor Seen Undisguised Before Its Real Reveal
The 2026 is getting an off-road-ready Tremor trim, and our spy photographer has caught undisguised models out in public.
The Tremor, which replaces the pre-facelifted Explorer's Timberline model, will be officially revealed later this year.
While it hasn't divulged any actual details, but we expect pricing to start at around $55K.
Last month, Ford released a teaser image that all but confirmed the Explorer mid-size SUV is getting the brand's off-road Tremor treatment. Now, we have our first glimpse of the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor, and it's completely undisguised ahead of its official reveal, which should happen sometime later this year.
Ford's Tremor lineup is essentially a step below its hardcore Raptor models. The Tremor package is currently available on the Maverick compact pickup, full-size Expedition, F-150, and Super Duty trucks. Those examples give us an idea of the type of equipment we can expect the Tremorized Explorer to have, at least what we can't confirm with our own two eyes.
Starting with what we can see, the Tremor-equipped Explorer has an orange horizontal element spanning its unique grille mesh. Below it are a pair of orange-painted recovery hooks, and the SUV's chin appears to be protected by a bash plate. Keeping with the theme of orange accents, the Explorer Tremor's 18-inch wheels have a colored pocket that helps identify the valve stem's location. The models we spied also wore Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3 all-terrain tires, sized 265/65R-18, so they stand 31.6 inches tall—the same as its predecessor.
Based on the Expedition Tremor, its Explorer counterpart should have steel skid plates underneath, a higher ride height, and retuned suspension and steering. Their interiors should be similar too, with the off-road Expedition featuring orange contrast stitching and "Tremor" script in the seatbacks. The previous Explorer Timberline was only offered with the 300-hp 2.3-liter turbo four, which remains standard on most of the 2025 lineup. However, Ford might let customers opt for the mightier 400-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, which is available on the current Explorer Platinum and standard on the Explorer ST.
Remember, Ford hasn't officially confirmed the Explorer Tremor's existence, but that will likely happen in the coming months. Once it's fully revealed, we'll have answers to all of our above speculations, including pricing. If we had to guess, equipping the Explorer with the Tremor package will likely come with an initial ask of around $55K.

Ford Sales Soar: Which Models are Driving the Trend
Ford Motor Company reported a 16% sales increase to 220,959 in May year-over-year, with positive gains at both Ford and Lincoln. Hybrid vehicles led the way with a 28.9% sales increase, totaling 22,719 units, with internal combustion engine sales up 17.2% to 191,517 units. In terms of segments, Ford's SUV sales saw the most significant gain at 25% to 94,595 units. Truck sales followed behind the SUV uptick at an 11.2% increase to 121,354 units. However, Ford Motor Company's electric vehicle (EV) sales plummeted 25% in May to 6,723 units. The car class saw a less dramatic decrease of 3.2% to 5,010 units, according to Ford Authority. Ford's new American Made campaign, centered around offering employee pricing, appears to primarily be fueling the company's overall sales gain as drivers strive to get ahead of tariff-imposed vehicle cost increases. Lincoln reported a 39% increase in May sales, and Ford Motor Company's total sales are up 6.1% to 930,925 vehicles compared to the first five months of 2024. The 2025 Escape was one of Ford's best-sellers in May, with sales catapulting 24% to 17,395 units. Ford's 2024 Explorer saw a 23% sales increase to 20,504 vehicles. Bronco Sport sales rose 46% to 14,472 units, and the Maverick saw a 14% gain to 15,508 deliveries. Financial analyst Dan Ives, managing director at Wedbush Securities, said "the monthly sales were better than feared and is a small step in the right direction," but added that there's "still a lot of wood to chop ahead for (CEO) Jim Farley and Ford with tariffs and demand issues," the Detroit Free Press reports. While Ford Motor Company extended its employee pricing marketing to July 6, which affects nearly all 2024 and 2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, the American automaker announced price hikes up to $2,000 last month on three of its Mexico-produced models: the Mach-E SUV, Maverick pickup, and Bronco Sport SUV. May represented the third consecutive year-over-year double-digit sales increase at Ford. Cox Automotive expects May sales across all automakers to rise 3.2% from last year and 2.5% from last month, but the month's sales pace will be significantly less than March and April, according to NBC. Besides weak May EV sales numbers, Ford has issued over 50 U.S. recalls in 2025, the most of any automaker. Through May 15, Volkswagen Group had issued the second-most recalls at 14. While EV sales were one of May's lowlights at Ford, the company's Mustang Mach-E experienced an 11% year-over-year sales surge to 4,724 units. Ford Motor Company stock finished at a 2.10% daily market increase and 5.6% year-over-year growth on Tuesday. With its third consecutive year-over-year double-digit sales increase and a 16% year-over-year sales increase for May, Ford has momentum that's crucial to the company mitigating trade war-related impacts, including $1.5 billion in added net costs for 2025. Ford Chair John Lawler said the automaker will adjust operations over the next 12 to 24 months in response to tariffs, but as of now, weak EV sales and regular recalls aren't significantly hurting the company's standing. 2 companies with Ohio ties land on 'Most Patriotic Brands in America' list. See full list
Two companies with Ohio ties were just named some of the "Most Patriotic Brands in America" for 2025, with one of them snagging the No. 1 top spot. An annual consumer survey performed by research firm Brand Keys found 50 American companies deemed the "most patriotic" by customers. This year's list includes Ford, Coca-Cola and Apple as well as newcomers like Trader Joe's and Dick's Sporting Goods. Here's who represented Ohio in this year's Most Patriotic Brands list. Jeep, which was founded in Toledo and still operates an assembly plant there, was ranked as the No. 1 most patriotic brand by consumers, surpassing Ford, Coca-Cola, Apple, and Walmart. Since 1941, Jeep has prided itself on American automotive history and patriotism, having been used by the U.S. Army during World War II. The automaker currently offers discounts to military personnel toward the purchase of a Jeep. Jeep leaned into its patriotic reputation with a commercial starring Harrison Ford that aired during the 2025 Super Bowl. Once headquartered in Cincinnati, Macy's moved up six spots and took the No. 35 spot on the list of the "Most Patriotic Brands in America." The chain continues shuttering underproductive stores nationwide, but there are currently 18 Macy's Stores left in Ohio, including four in Cincinnati, two in Columbus, one in Canton, and one in Akron. Here's how each company ranked among the Top 50 Most Patriotic Brands in America for 2025 and their movement from the 2024 list: Jeep (--) Ford (--) Coca-Cola (+1) Levi Strauss (-1) Apple (+3) Walmart (--) Disney (-2) Harley Davidson (-1) Amazon (+1) Ralph Lauren (+2) Jack Daniels (-2) . Nike (+10) Hershey's (-2) Dunkin' (--) McDonald's (+10) Wrangler (-3) American Express (-2) Colgate (-2) Pepsi Cola (+3) NFL (+9) NBA (+9) Home Depot (+27) John Deere (+15) Weather Tech (+2) AT&T (+12) FOX News (-3) Kellogg's (-6) Gillette (+4) Wilson's Sporting Goods (+7) L.L. Bean (+3) MSNBC (-13) Gatorade (+3) Kraft Heinz (+7) KFC (+5) Macy's (+6) USAA (+10) Target (-3) Jersey Mike's Subs (new) MLB (-9) New Balance (-13) Ball Park Franks (Tyson, new) Converse (+3) Costco (--) Trader Joe's (new) Revlon (+4) Weber Grills (+2) Campbell's (new) GM (new) Whirlpool (new) Dick's Sporting Goods (new) 'With consumers viewing everything through a political lens, the value of patriotism is more important than ever,' Brand Keys President Robert Passikoff said. 'A brand that truly resonates the value 'patriotism' taps into a deep well of shared identity, cultural pride, and collective values that significantly strengthen consumer loyalty and positive brand behavior.'
