Here's how fans can follow Jimmy Graham's ambitious Arctic Ocean paddle

USA Today16 hours ago

Now this is cool -- former New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham has spent his post-football career preparing for a special journey, planning to lead a rowing team in a 1,000-mile paddle across the Arctic Ocean. With former teammates like Drew Brees and many of his fans cheering him on, Graham is using this opportunity to raise funds through the Million Meters Club in support of charities like the Covenant House New Orleans and Laureus Sport for Good New Orleans.
And Graham's fans can track his progress. He shared a look at the live tracking map that supporters can use to see where he and his crew are making progress across the Arctic this July, in what's expected to be at minimum a 10-day journey. You can follow along here at the Arctic Challenge's official website. It's an ambitious goal for a good cause, and we'll be wishing Graham the best once he sets out in just a few days.
While they're prepared to be at sea for up to 20 days, Graham's team is hoping to beat the world speed record for this trek of 15 days and five hours. The four-person crew will row in shifts of two hours on, two hours off, sleeping only sparingly throughout the trip.
"Basically, we're looking to inspire young people by demonstrating the power of persistence," Graham told the Saints' team reporter John DeShazier. "I've been given a lot in my life and I just want to make sure I'm relaying that to other people and trying to inspire. I understand that my life circumstances – when I was born and when I was raised – wasn't the greatest, and I think it's a tragedy sometimes. I was blessed enough to have a lot of realization very young and to realize that what I was in and where I was growing up was not normal. And basically, at the age of 12, I decided to change my life and chase my dreams and chase something bigger and greater, which led me down a wild path and led me to the NFL."

Ex-Eagles Star Takes Massive Shot at Commanders' Deebo Samuel

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A key offseason move for the Washington Commanders doesn't move the needle for former Philadelphia Eagles star Brandon Graham. As one prominent streamer by the name of Janky Rondo spoke with confidence about the Commanders heading into next season, mentioning the acquisition of Deebo Samuel as a reason why Washington will take an additional step forward, Graham fired back a massive shot at the versatile wideout. "You know we got Deebo," Graham heard. "I wouldn't worry about him," Graham fired back. "He gotta be in shape first—he don't look like he in shape right now." He has to get in shape first' 🎥 credit IG: Jankyrondo — Jason Dumas (@JDumasReports) June 28, 2025 Graham made a name for himself as a notorious trash talker throughout his Eagles career. It doesn't come as a surprise that he continues to talk trash off the field, despite calling it a career this offseason. Plus, when it comes to Deebo Samuel and the Eagles, there's a lot of history there dating back to Deebo's days with the San Francisco 49ers. After the Eagles defeated the 49ers in the NFC Championship a few years back, Samuel and the 49ers entered the following year with a chip on their shoulder and dominated Philadelphia during the regular season. It was a heated battle, and Samuel was at the forefront of it all for San Francisco's side. These days, Samuel's Niners days are finished, but he landed on a direct rival of the Eagles. Since the Commanders and the Eagles just battled it out in the NFC Championship this past season, Samuel's rivalry with the Eagles will surely remain in place for the 2025 NFL season. Deebo Samuel Sr. #1 of the San Francisco 49ers in action against the Detroit Lions at Levi's Stadium on December 30, won't get a chance to participate in those two matchups against Washington this season. The former 13th overall pick decided to hang up his cleats. The Eagles landed Graham out of Michigan in 2010. At the time, he was a controversial pick, and struggled to live up to his draft position early on. Eventually, Graham became a notable player on the defensive end of the ball for the Eagles. Before anybody knew it, Graham became a Pro Bowler, All-Pro, and two-time Super Bowl Champion. He played 206 games for the Eagles, registering over 75 sacks and 487 tackles. He might not take the field for the Eagles this year for the first time in over a decade, but Graham is clearly still about his trash-talking ways and downplaying any potential threat or enemy that might try to get in the way of his Eagles. LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, Arch Manning star in Raising Cane's ad

'At least your dad didn't move to Louisiana and start calling plays' This is a fun one. Louisiana football royalty descended on Thibodeaux this week for the Manning Passing Academy, with legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning joining his sons Peyton, Eli, and Cooper and grandson Arch for an opportunity to mentor the next generation of passers. On the way, several members of the Manning family stopped by the Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane's to put in a celebrity "shift" and pulled into the drive-thru to cut a commercial. You can see it for yourself here, but they weren't alone. Raising Cane's founder Todd Graves, a popular pick among fans to buy the Saints should owner Gayle Benson ever put them up for sale, sat in the back seat with LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. Grandfather Archie questioned grandson Arch as to whether his Super Bowl-winning uncles Peyton and Eli were going too hard on him; the younger Manning and Nussmeier roomed together this week as counselors at the clinic. "Tell me about it. At least your dad didn't move to Louisiana and start calling plays," quipped Nussmeier, son of new Saints offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier. That's when Arch's father Cooper leaned in from the drive-thru window to remind his son to order with a "please" and "thank you," while telling Nussmeier that his father already called in his order: "He doesn't trust your judgment." Rookie Saints quarterback Tyler Shough is also working at the event as a counselor, and he's the first to do so after going pro. With almost 1,500 high school quarterbacks in attendance, the Mannings could use all the help they can get. As for Graves? Between all this high-maintenance bickering among quarterbacks, he joked that he needs "to start hanging out with linemen." We're guessing Erik McCoy and Cameron Jordan would be more than happy to show him around town.
