Rekha Gupta disrespected Shri Kartarpur Sahib: AAP
Ludhiana, June 16 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for referring to Shri Kartarpur Sahib as 'Kartar Singh.' Senior party leader and Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema questioned why Rekha Gupta came to Punjab for campaigning when she clearly has no understanding of Sikhism or Punjab. Cheema stated that Rekha Gupta lacks knowledge about the history of Punjab and Shri Kartarpur Sahib. Using such terminology without understanding is a grave insult to Sikhism and Punjab. "She has disrespected our Gurus," he remarked. He pointed out that while Gupta claimed BJP would win the by-election, her ignorance about Punjab's culture makes her statements laughable. "Punjab is the land of Gurus and saints. Anyone coming to Punjab for campaigning is welcome, but they must learn about its history and culture beforehand," he said. Cheema asserted that Rekha Gupta's comments demonstrated that the BJP neither respected Sikh Gurus, nor the religious sites, nor the people of Punjab. 'In this election, the people of Ludhiana West will ensure that the BJP forfeits its deposit,' he said. AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang also criticized Rekha Gupta for "disrespecting" Shri Kartarpur Sahib and Sikhism. Kang highlighted that Shri Kartarpur Sahib holds a revered place in the daily prayers of millions of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's followers. He said, 'Shri Kartarpur Sahib is the place where Guru Nanak Dev ji spent 18 years of his life. It is where he gave the world the message of 'Naam Japo, Kirat Karo, Vand Chhako.' He farmed there himself and taught people the philosophy of a balanced life and hard work.' UNI GS PRS
