HYDRAA Strikes Again…! Clears encroachments in Musi riverbed, Moosapet
According to HYDRAA, encroachers had illegally occupied land on the riverbanks and constructed sheds by dumping soil. These areas were subsequently being rented out for various commercial purposes, particularly for parking cars, buses, and lorries. HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath stated that a total of 9.62 acres of land had been illegally occupied. This included 3.10 acres encroached by Tikaram Singh, who was running an illegal business by constructing sheds; 1.30 acres occupied by Poonam Chand Yadav; and 5.22 acres encroached by Jaya Krishna.
Investigations revealed that all these individuals had encroached upon and constructed sheds on the riverbanks, which they were then renting out. Residents had filed complaints regarding these activities, which also included anti-social behaviour, illegal nurseries, and commercial use of the encroached space for parking. Following these complaints, HYDRAA took swift action, demolishing all illegally constructed sheds and reclaiming the land, returning it to government control.
Similarly, HYDRAA also cleared illegal encroachments from 2,000 square yards of park land in Anjaneya Nagar Colony, Moosapet. This land had been officially designated as a park in the layout approved by the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA).
According to HYDRAA, a local resident, Yasin, was unlawfully using the park land for commercial activities, including storing tent materials, operating sound systems, and repairing generators. Furthermore, he was running a tent supply shop on one side of the road and had extended his business operations onto the designated park area directly opposite the shop.
Ranganath confirmed that the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) had previously sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for the development of the park, including laying the foundation stone for fencing around it. However, Yasin and his associates allegedly obstructed this development work. In response, local residents lodged complaints with both GHMC and the local police. Following these complaints, received via HYDRAA Prajavani, the HYDRAA team conducted a thorough investigation and initiated action to clear all illegal encroachments from the site. Fencing work around the park land was also launched immediately to prevent further illegal occupation.

Around 53 lakh kanwariyas visit Baba Baidyanath temple during Shravani Mela
Deoghar (Jharkhand), Aug 7 (PTI) Around 53 lakhs kanwariyas have offered holy water at Baba Baidyanath temple in Jharkhand's Deoghar district during the ongoing month-long Shravan Mela, a senior district official said on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra and Superintendent of Police Ajit Peter Dungdung told reporters that altogether 52,95,766 devotees offered holy water at Baba Baidyanath Temple till date since the Shravani mela started on July 11. Additionally, 1,68,870 devotees offered obeisance through 'Shighra Darshanam' (fast track) facility. The temple registered an income of altogether Rs 7,36,44,295 between July 11 and August 5, which included income from other temple sources, Lakra said. The income from Shighra Darshanam contributed 60 per cent (Rs 5,89,10,400) of the total income, he said. The deputy commissioner said 564 magistrates and officials and 9,650 police personnel, along with four companies of para-military force, two Superintendents of Police, besides an NDRF team, were deployed in and around the fair area. A team of 81 doctors, along with 449 paramedics equipped with 24 general ambulances, 26 number of 108 ambulances and five jeeps, were deployed to meet any exigency during the fair, Lakra said. A total of 61,613 children were administered polio drops, while 1,98,552 patients were given medical aid during the period at the fair. Around 765 CCTV cameras, 200 AI cameras and ten drone cameras were in operation to maintain law and order in the fair. The transport department collected Rs 2,03,77,775 as entry fee from registered commercial vehicles, an amount of Rs 953.75 lakh was collected as commercial tax between July 1 and August 5, the deputy commissioner added. Security guards threatened, Rs 5 lakh extortion demanded from EON Kharadi Infrastructure; FIR lodged
A group of about 10 people, including a murder accused, allegedly tried to enter into a property owned by EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited Company illegally on Wednesday and demanded Rs 5 lakh. A 51-year-old retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Indian Army, who works as a security head with the EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited, lodged an FIR at the Kharadi police station on Wednesday. The Pune city police have so far arrested four people while a search is on for six others. Those arrested have been identified as Raju Tukaram Aswale (27), Himesh Subhash More (18), Akash Sanjay More (24) and Ankush Ashok Adsul (28), all residents of Chandan Nagar area in Pune. According to the FIR, EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited owns a property at Survey number 42 in Kharadi. It further stated that 'Infinity Facility Services' Company has been appointed for the security of this property. The complainant looks after the duties and other issues of the security guards deployed by Infinity Facility Services at the property. As per the FIR, around 5.20 pm, a group of about 10 people on five two-wheelers gathered at the spot and created a ruckus. They allegedly asked the security guards to tell the owner of EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited to give them Rs 5 lakh for doing any work at the site. The men also allegedly threatened they would not allow the property owner to live and destroy the compound of the property, if the money was not paid. The FIR mentions that the accused men manhandled the security guards and crossed the compound gate forcibly. The complainant rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. A security guard had taken photographs of the accused and their two-wheelers. The complainant filed a complaint on behalf of the company at the Kharadi police station. He shared the photographs of the accused with the police. Police identified some of the accused persons having a previous criminal record and booked the 10 people under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 308(2)(3)(4), 189, 189(2), 190, 191, 329 (1)(3), 115(2), 351(2), 352 and sections of the Criminal Law Amendment Act. Police sub inspector Rahul Kolpe, who is investigating the case, said, 'Raju Aswale was earlier booked in a murder case. A few more accused persons in this case have a previous criminal record. We have arrested four persons and a court has sent them to police custody for two days for further investigation.'
