And you just have to be ready for it.'

'Coolie' Box Office collection day 6: Rajinikanth's film touches Rs 216 crore mark in India; BEATS Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's 'War 2' on first Tuesday

Superstar Rajinikanth 's latest film 'Coolie' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, had a thunderous start at the box office during the Independence Day weekend. But after the long holiday run, the film is now seeing a dip in collections as weekdays kick in. Despite the slowdown, the Rajinikanth action drama has crossed the big Rs 200 crore mark in India, a milestone that keeps fans celebrating. However, the film is facing stiff competition as Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's 'War 2' also released on the same day. 'Coolie' box office collection day 6 According to early estimates by Sacnilk, On Tuesday, 'Coolie' brought in around Rs 9.50 crore. This took the total collection of 'Coolie' in India to Rs 216 crore net by Day 6. 'Coolie' box office opening day numbers On its release day, a Thursday, 'Coolie' made a massive opening with Rs 65 crore in India. This strong start gave the film an edge over its rivals and set the tone for a promising run. The Friday numbers, however, showed the first signs of a dip. The film dropped by more than 15% and brought in Rs 54.75 crore. Still, this was a strong collection for a non-holiday weekday. Rajinikanth's film faces dip in box office collection The Saturday and Sunday run was expected to bring in bigger numbers, but 'Coolie' continued to dip. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo On Saturday, it collected Rs 39.5 crore, and on Sunday, it slipped further to Rs 35.25 crore. Even with the slide, Rajinikanth's film managed to keep its grip on audiences and stayed well ahead of many other releases. Weekdays are always the real test for any film, and 'Coolie' showed its first big drop on Monday. The film collected Rs 12 crore, which, while lower than the weekend numbers, was still considered decent for a weekday. 'Coolie' Vs 'War 2' One of the biggest talking points around 'Coolie' is its clash with 'War 2'. Both films released on the same day, creating a box office battle between Rajinikanth, Hrithik Roshan, and Jr NTR. On its first Tuesday, 'War 2' tried to keep pace but ended up behind 'Coolie'. The film earned Rs 8.25 crore on Day 6, taking its domestic total to just over Rs 190 crore. This means that even with a dip, 'Coolie' is still ahead in the race. 'Coolie' worldwide box office collection Beyond India, 'Coolie' has turned into a huge success. The film has already crossed the Rs 400 crore mark worldwide, placing it among the biggest earners for Rajinikanth. But the journey does not end here. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial still has a way to go before it can match or beat the numbers of other big films like 'Saiyaara' (Rs 324.75 crore net in India) and 'Chhaava' (Rs 601.57 crore net in India). About 'Coolie' 'Coolie' tells the story of Deva, a former union leader played by Rajinikanth. Deva sets out to find the truth behind the sudden death of his friend Rajasekhar, played by Sathyaraj. In his journey, Deva locks horns with a gangster named Simon (played by Nagarjuna) and Simon's right-hand man Dayal (played by Soubin Shahir). The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, and Upendra in important roles, while Aamir Khan makes a key appearance. Not this president: Trump cancels summer holiday to work on Russia-Ukraine deal

US President Donald Trump won't be heading to his Bedminster club this August. Instead, he's staying in Washington to focus on efforts to end the war in Ukraine, the White House said on Tuesday.'This is normally the time when the president goes on vacation, but not this president,' press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters. She noted that Trump considered working a couple of weeks from his New Jersey resort but 'decided against it.'advertisementBedminster, where Trump often retreats for weekends, had been his go-to summer spot during his first term. His decision to skip the trip this year underscores how heavily the Russia-Ukraine talks are weighing on his schedule. The announcement came during an unusual White House press pool stop at the Rose Garden, where Trump was testing out newly installed speakers as part of a makeover of the Chief of Staff Dan Scavino had earlier posted video of the speakers blasting Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the USA,' one of Trump's favorite songs, over shots of patio-style tables shaded by yellow umbrellas and an overhead American flag.'We are testing the speakers for what will be the greatest event in the history of the White House!' -President Karoline Leavitt (@PressSec) August 19, 2025Leavitt joked that Trump was running the playlist himself and promised the next Rose Garden party will be 'hopefully soon,' calling it 'what will be the best event in the history of the White House.'Among the songs played during the test was 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' by Procol Harum, loud enough to be heard well beyond the Rose Trump is testing the Rose Garden speakers for the 'best event in White House history' per @ is in fact controlling the music selection.
