
Woman, 68, drowns while swimming in Merigomish
RCMP say the 68-year-old was swimming off Twin Cove Lane in Merigomish, N.S., on Monday at 9:20 a.m.
She encountered difficulties and went underwater.
The woman had been swimming with another person, who brought her to shore.
CPR was provided, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP, paramedics and fire crews responded to the call.

Cyclist killed in crash near Manotick

A man in his 60s lost his life following a crash on Highway 20 near Baie-d'Urfé on the island of Montreal. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The driver, who was travelling westbound, lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons. His vehicle ended up in a ditch. The driver was ejected from his vehicle. Man dies after vehicle veers off Highway 20 on Montreal's West Island
A man died after he lost control of his vehicle in Montreal on Highway 20 on Saturday morning. At around 8:30 a.m., his car went off the road in Baie-D'Urfé as he was heading westbound, according to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Béatrice Dorsainville. The man in his 60s was ejected from his vehicle and found in a ditch, Dorsainville said. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
