MSU football moves opener vs. WMU to Friday night, releases additional game times
Michigan State football will once again open the season under the lights on a Friday night.
The Big Ten conference announced the official television schedule for a number of early season games for the upcoming 2025 season, which included the move of Michigan State's season-opener against Western Michigan to Friday night. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. ET on August 29, and will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
Last week, the official Michigan State football social media account hinted at the game being moved up to Friday when it released its countdown tracker to the season-opener. But now it is official.
On top of the opener being moved up to Friday night, the conference released a few other game times and TV selections for the Spartans' 2025 schedule. Those are listed below:
Boston College at Michigan State will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 6 and be televised on NBC
Youngstown State at Michigan State will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday 13 and be televised on Big Ten Network
Michigan State at Nebraska will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET, 3:30 p.m. ET or 4 p.m. ET on October 4 (TV to be determined)
UCLA at Michigan State will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET on October 11 (TV to be determined)
Michigan State at Indiana will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET, 3:30 p.m. ET or 4 p.m. ET on October 18 (TV to be determined)
The rest of the kickoff times and TV selections for the Michigan State schedule next season will come out at a later date.
