CCTV clues after body found in bin at shopping strip
Images of two women seen near an industrial-sized bin where a man's body was found have been released, as investigations into the 45-year-old man's death continue.
The body of Luke Jon Telega was discovered by a garbage contractor about 9am on Monday, behind a hairdresser and Salvation Army store on Percy Street in Bellerive, Hobart.
Mr Telega was last seen alive at 10pm on Saturday, but police said there was a significant gap in the timeline leading up to the discovery of his body.
The area at the back of the shops is known to be frequented by people sleeping rough.
CCTV footage has led police to identify two people of interest, including a woman captured standing outside a shopfront on Percy Street at 7.50pm on Sunday.
She may have spoken with someone on the street at the time and was seen driving what is believed to be a light-coloured Toyota Prado.
Police have identified another woman, who was seen on Percy Street at 8.05pm on Sunday. She was driving a red SUV.
Detectives returned to the scene on Tuesday, speaking with members of the public and conducting further door-knocks at nearby homes and businesses.
"An autopsy was conducted (on Tuesday) and details of this will not be released to the public. However, police have confirmed there were no visible signs of injury," police said.
"Police continue to maintain an open mind and treat the death as a case of misadventure, or foul play, or a potential combination of both."
Detectives are urging anyone who was in the areas of Percy Street, Scott Street, or Cambridge Road between Sunday night and Monday morning and who may have seen someone on foot or riding a bicycle, to come forward.

Detectives in Tasmania are looking for a woman they've identified as one of the last people to see a man alive, before his body was found inside a bin in Hobart. There is no suggestion the women was involved with Telega's death, however, police said they believe she may be able to help with inquiries. 'Police are trying to piece together Mr Telega's movements leading up to a garbage contractor finding his body,' they said. 'Further, police still wish to speak with (another) woman shown on CCTV footage standing at a shopfront on Percy Street about 7:50pm on Sunday. 'Police believe the member of the public may have spoken with someone in Percy Street at the time and may be able to assist with inquiries.
