An army of quick-thinking backstage crew members raced onto the set in Australia to steady the massive prop so Katy - who was clinging on to the sides - could climb down safely.
With the backing music stopped, the crowd could be heard applauding the star and shouting "go, Katy!" as she made her way out and onto the floor.
The incident came just one day after Beyoncé sparked panic as a flying car she was riding on during her Cowboy Carter Tour malfunctioned.
The red Cadillac began tilting to one side as Beyoncé repeatedly said "stop" into the microphone and the music cut out.
Katy was also left hanging in the air during her Lifetimes Tour show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide.
Sharing a video on X, one fan who was in the crowd said, "Wait not katy perry almost falling from the giant ball.. this is scary asf.
"Omg it's scarier than it looked."
The clip was captioned with, "Katy Perry handled it like a queen."
Fans were quick to reply to the footage, with many comparing Katy's lucky escape to Beyoncé's.
"Main Pop girlies literally risking life to put on a show!" one said.

Another added, "She thinks she's beyonce!"
A third chimed in, "Beyonce almost fell in her car prop and now Katy with this."
And someone else wrote, "Thankgod it didn't happen when she was up in air."
Beyoncé's brush with danger came just 24 hours earlier while she was performing at the NRG Stadium in her native Texas.
Towards the end of the show, and after an appearance from her daughter Blue Ivy, things took a turn for the worse.
During her performance of 16 Carriages, the superstar hopped into a red car which was then lifted high into the air using cables.
She pulled on a silver cowboy hat and waved an American flag for her in-air adventures, yet was forced to halt the song as the vehicle leaned dangerously to one side.
The crowd paused when she stopped singing and signaled for help, before erupting into cheers as the vehicle was lowered to solid ground.
Like a pro, Beyonce continued the song then told her adoring fans: "I wanna thank y'all, for loving me.
"If ever I fall, I know y'all will catch me."
GOING SILENT
Meanwhile, Katy had turned off her social media notifications in the lead up to her gig in Australia.
It came after The Sun revealed she has told friends her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom is over.
Katy has been in Australia with their four-year-old daughter Daisy, while Orlando jetted to Italy for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding.
British actor Orlando was seen cozying up to Kim Kardashian at the extravagant event before being spotted with Sydney Sweeney in Venice.
Katy and Orlando were in a relationship for nine years.

Maya said: "I've never said the wrong name, but there are cameras constantly around and they like the dramatic pauses. "There is a lot of me saying something and then it waits. It's funny with the new Islanders, where they're not used to me saying something and then pausing for ages and they're all looking around like 'is she frozen?'. "I feel so awkward for them because they're just standing there in their little outfits." Maya then explained that the producers do not create scenarios but simply "encourages" the Islanders to pull each other for a chat. She continued: "I don't know if it's illegal or what but they can't tell them what to do. "The most they can do is encourage them to have a little chat, but it has to be real because it's reality." Maya added: "I do this technique where I don't let them tell me who's going until I'm stood in front of them in my ear because I don't want to stare at the person or give away. "Literally as I say it, I find out one second before anyone else." It comes after viewers were shocked after axed Islander Remell appeared to suggest it wasn't his decision to dump Poppy. Love Islanders lick and spank each other in sexiest Heart Rate Challenge yet The Islander appeared on Aftersun to discuss his time on the show and managed to spark fix claims with his comments. As he chatted to Poppy, who was also in the audience, he said: 'It wasn't my decision to dump you.' Remell decided to ditch Poppy in favour of Alima after The Sleepover, despite sharing a bed with her and kissing her. Those watching at home were confused by his comment, with one person remarking: 'Remell has just said live on TV 'It wasn't my decision to dump you' so just told us that Love Island is just one big set up!' A second said: 'What did Remmel mean by 'it wasn't my decision to dump you' when speaking to Poppy?' While a third added: 'What does Remmel mean it wasn't his decision to dump Poppy? Producers pushing the agenda? Did he let that slip?' And another added: 'Wait.. did Remell said it wasn't his decision to dump Poppy.' Others however were quick to clarify what he meant - that he didn't know she would go home if she wasn't picked. While other fans accused bosses of "fixing" last week's public dumping, in a bid to get rid of Megan after all the Conor drama.

EastEnders death 'sealed' as soap marks 'end of an era' - and it's not Elaine

There's a number of exits and changes taking place in Albert Square - and fans fear a death is in store for one fan favourite who has already confirmed their exit It's the end of an era in EastEnders as the Square is undergoing a number of changes. Clair Norris has announced she'll be leaving her role as Bernie Taylor this week, but Bernie isn't the only resident who's confirmed to be leaving Albert Square. Elsewhere, Elaine sparked fears after suffering a heart attack tonight - as she finally agreed to sell the pub with Linda. Last week, many feared the soap had foreshadowed Elaine's death along with her health struggles. However, now fans are certain it will be Felix Baker who meets his fate. ‌ Writer Daran Little described this week as the "end of an era" as he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "I've written tonight and tomorrow's #EastEnders There's a lot of Carters… and the end of an era." ‌ It was confirmed earlier this year that Felix would be making his exit from the soap, and tonight Bernie was trying to convince him to leave for Spain with her. However, Felix informed Bernie that he wanted to stay behind to move in with his partner, Johnny, when she let him in on a huge secret. She told Felix that Nish wasn't the one to kill Keanu after all, informing him of Johnny's mum, Linda, and The Six's involvement. It wasn't the only secret Felix learnt tonight. He also learnt Bernie had been stealing from Ravi and the Panesars, as he urged her to leave before he found out. With Felix being in on the secret, could he now be in danger from Ravi? Fans seem to think so. Taking to social media after the episode, one fan wrote: "I think Johnny and Callum might get together tbh. Also, the Bernie stuff.. I think she'll go missing and Felix will get on the wrong side of Ravi and meet his fate." Another responded: "Someone has to pay, and if it's not Bernie, it'll be Felix!" ‌ Earlier in the episode, Bernie was seen warning Felix to leave with her, as she warned him: "Get on the plane with me Felix, 'cos Walford is full of murderers." In March, it was revealed that Matthew James Morrison would be leaving the soap this year after three years. Upon joining, Felix, who also had an alter ego - Tara Misu - made history as Albert Square's first drag queen resident. Felix brought in whole new storylines with his brother Finlay, played by Ashley Byam, and dad Avery, played by Omar Lye-Fook. A BBC representative said in a statement shared with the Mirror at the time: 'We can confirm that Matthew will be leaving EastEnders later in the year. We wish him all the best for the future.'

Glastonbury headliner ‘used cheat sheet on stage to remember his own lyrics'

Glastonbury headliner Neil Young reportedly had to use a 'cheat sheet' to help him with the lyrics to his own tunes while performing at the festival. The Canadian-American star took to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night, sandwiched between Friday's headliner, The 1975, and Sunday's closer, Olivia Rodrigo. Young, 79, was a divisive choice for revellers, with some claiming his slot should've been awarded to Charli XCX, who caused a ruckus on the Other Stage with all her Brat anthems. Nevertheless, the veteran rocker put on a show comprising his biggest hits, including Cinnamon Girl, Like A Hurricane, and Rockin' In The Free World, performing at one point with Hank Williams' guitar. However, as his set neared its end, it's believed the star started to struggle. According to fans among the thousands-strong crowd, with 25 minutes to go of his 110-minute set, he started glancing at a printed song sheet. It's said the tracks he needed assistance with were renditions of Old Man and Name of Love. 'You'd think he would know the words by now; he has been singing these songs for years,' one festivalgoer told MailOnline. 'But maybe it's difficult to play the piano and remember the lyrics.' Young is one of the oldest artists ever to headline Glastonbury, following in the footsteps of Sir Paul McCartney, who was the oldest-ever Pyramid Stage performer in 2022. Also that year, Billie Eilish, then 20, became the youngest headliner. His set opened with Sugar Mountain, after which he told cheering fans: 'Thank you, folks.' Young's performance was broadcast live on the BBC on day 2 of Glasto, despite it previously being announced that it would not be, 'at the artist's request'. Just hours before he took to the stage, the BBC issued a statement that read: 'We are delighted to confirm that Neil Young's headline set from Glastonbury on Saturday will be broadcast live to audiences across the UK on the BBC.' He had initially turned down the offer to headline the Worthy Farm festival, critiquing the Beeb's involvement and claiming it was 'under corporate control'. The singer had written on his website: 'We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in. 'It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being.' He did a 180 just days later, though, which surprised everyone. Young cited 'an error in the information [he] received' for his initial snub, sharing: 'Due to an error in the information received, I had decided to not play the Glastonbury Festival, which I always have loved. 'Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing. Hope to see you there.' Young first played Glasto 16 years ago, again on the Pyramid Stage. More Trending This year, he joined a starry line-up once more, with Sir Rod Stewart taking charge of the teatime Legends Slot. Other major names performing this year included Raye, The Prodigy, Noah Kahan, Biffy Clyro, Alanis Morissette, Doechii, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Wolf Alice. Glastonbury takes a break every five years to allow the soil to rest, meaning the festival will return in 2027. Rumours are already swirling around who will be the next lot of headliners, with names such as Harry Styles, Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift all strong contenders. Got a story?
