Yahoo20-07-2025
In case you missed it, the Ohio State basketball alumni team, "Carmen's Crew," won its opening game in The Basketball Tournament to start its defense of last year's championship run. They did it as the No. 1 seed in the Indianapolis Region and will next play the winner of "Locked In Elite" and "Fort Wayne Champs" Monday night at 6 p.m. ET.
As we always do since the winner-take-all TBT Tournament came into existence, we'll follow along with "Carmen's Crew" to see if it can take home its third title or not. We already wrote a recap of the action and shared some highlights of its win over GoTime Green Machine, but we thought it well worth it to continue to share an updated 2025 TBT bracket as things progressed with Carmen's Crew still in the mix.
So, with that being said, here is an updated 2025 TBT Tournament bracket after games on Sunday so you can follow along.
We'll continue to update this bracket with every Carmen's Crew win and bring highlights and recaps as long as the former Ohio State players are in the tournament.

Magic: The Gathering Unveils Spider-Man Cards — GeekTyrant

Over the weekend, at San Diego Comic-Con, Magic: The Gathering showed off a bunch of cards from the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man set. The set, titled Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man , will release globally on September 26 and is sure to bring a lot of joy to players everywhere. Looking at the new cards and art with my limited knowledge of Magic (I just played and won my first ever Commander game over the weekend), I think the art for the five basic lands is really cool, I like the classic comic art cards for collection purposes (but hate them for actual play due to readability), think it's absolute madness the number of variant arts for the same card (Amazing Spider-Man has four artworks, Ultimate Spider-Man has three artworks, etc.) instead of just using those artworks for different cards, and just think this sounds like fun for some players and collectors. Which of the revealed cards are you most hyped for? If you are hyped for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man , you can look forward to more previews and details that will start swinging out the first week of September. What are you hoping to see from the upcoming set?

AHSOKA's Ezra Bridger Actor Shows Off Lightsaber Skills in New Video — GeekTyrant

Eman Esfandi is proving he's more than ready to wield a lightsaber again in Ahsoka Season 2. The actor, who brought the live-action version of Ezra Bridger to life in the first season, recently shared a video on social media showcasing his impressive lightsaber moves—and it has fans hyped for what's coming next. Esfandi posted the clip on Instagram with the caption: "This little light(saber) of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." Following an outpouring of excitement from fans, he added: "Y'all got me hyped up thank you for the love, may the force be with you." Filming for Ahsoka season 2 is already underway, something Esfandi himself confirmed back in March when he reposted an Instagram story from the set. More recently, co-star Ivanna Sakhno revealed the series is 'in the middle of filming,' teasing that the new season will be 'bigger' and 'even more in-depth.' The second season of Ahsoka was announced in January 2024, but cameras didn't start rolling until March 2025. Story details are still under wraps, but fans can expect some major payoffs after that season 1 cliffhanger. We last saw Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) stranded after helping Ezra escape Peridea, while Grand Admiral Thrawn ( Lars Mikkelsen) began his ominous return to power. If that's not enough to get you excited, Hayden Christensen is confirmed to return as Anakin Skywalker after his brief but memorable appearance in season 1. Christensen even dropped out of a recent Comic-Con appearance due to overnight shoots, which could hint at a bigger role for the Jedi legend this time around. On top of that, Admiral Ackbar is set to appear and will apparently go head-to-head with Thrawn, which sounds like an epic showdown in the making. Ahsoka Season 2 doesn't have a release date yet.

Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr commits egregious baserunning blunder, faces social media backlash

New York Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr. took heat on social media on Saturday over a head-scratching baserunning blunder against his former team, the Miami Marlins. Chisholm was on first base in the top of the second inning with Paul Goldschmidt up at bat. The Yankees' batter popped up to Marlins' second baseman Xavier Edwards. Chisholm was too far off first base and got caught napping. Edwards then threw the ball to first for the inning-ending double play. Chisholm was criticized by the Yankees' announcers during the broadcast as well as fans on social media for the brain fart. Yankees manager Aaron Boone also received some backlash on social media. "What was Chisholm thinking?" Yankees play-by-play man Michael Kay asked. Color commentator Paul O'Neill was left in shock, saying, "What is going on?" Boone and first base coach Travis Chapman also had an animated conversation in the dugout. Chishlom said afterward he wouldn't have changed anything, adding that he was trying to be aggressive on the basepaths by forcing Edwards to possibly make an error. "I was just trying to be aggressive, already playing with both the middle infielders out there," he said, via The Athletic. "I saw something that I thought they were going to do. He deked it like he was going to do it. He didn't do it. Still trying to be aggressive because I played here before. I know how the field plays. Sometimes you get aggressive and you get caught up and you make an out." Boone said he didn't think about taking Chisholm out of the game. New York lost the game, 2-0. The Yankees only mustered up two hits on Miami. Chisholm was 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout.
