Diana Penty stuns in a new avatar — a no-nonsense, razor-sharp detective in Detective Sherdil, opposite the ever-entertaining Diljit Dosanjh. The trailer has just hit the internet and it's everything we didn't know we needed - mystery, comedy, and a whole lot of cat-and-mouse chaos!
And the two are out to solve a murder mystery. The film also stars Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah in crucial roles. Irani plays a business tycoon who has been murdered in broad daylight. This is yet another whodunit after Chhal Kapat, Housefull 5, Criminal Justice 4, and many more titles.
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
Talking about his character, Boman Irani said, 'While the character dies early in the film, the fact is that because an investigation unfolds throughout, each suspect shares their side of the story. In their versions, the character resurfaces, talking about their relationship with them and, of course, the plot points that become contextual through these flashbacks. So, the character runs through the film, but yes, technically dies early on.'
He added, 'So, this film came to me around the Covid period it was the first film that was offered to me during that time. The director, Ravi Chhabariya, called me personally. I just love the genre the whodunnit. Some of my favourite films fall in that space: multiple suspects, one person dead, many who could have done it… and of course, the family intrigue and structure.'
'Ravi Chhabariya a young man making this film called me and said, 'Look, you may not think it's an important role, but I asked Ali Abbas Zafar, and he said maybe this is my first choice. Worst-case scenario, he might say no, but there's also a chance he might say yes.' The moment he said that, I said yes. There you go and off we went to Budapest, and had the most beautiful, experiential days. For me, the director along with the script is the most important reason to say yes to a film. And I'm really, really fond of that young man,' continued Irani.

EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Kumar reacts to similarities between Khiladi franchise and Mission Impossible, ‘I am inspired by Tom & Jerry'
Akshay Kumar is among the very few Indian actors who perform action sequences by themselves. The Khiladi actor is a master in performing stunts as he started his career with action movies and did some deadly action sequences by himself. The actor was even featured in a film titled Kambakkht Ishq dedicated to stuntmen who work behind the camera and play an important role in the success of the action flicks. In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the Housefull 5 actor reacted to his viral 'aeroplane' stunt's comparison to Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible action sequence. The actor mentioned that he drew inspiration from Tom & Jerry for most of the action sequences. The 56-year-old said, 'You know where I draw all this inspiration from. You will not believe it from Tom & Jerry (smiles).' Watch Akshay Kumar And Vishnu Manchu's Pinkvilla Interview Here: The OG action superstar went on to add that Tom & Jerry is the most violent and brutal show. 'I love watching Tom & Jerry. Furthermore, the Kesari Chapter 2 actor listed a few of his action sequences inspired by Tom & Jerry. Akshay mentioned, 'I remember Tom coming from the helicopter, hanging and picking up Jerry, so I did that in Sabse Bada Khiladi. Then, Tom is hanging on a plane which is there in Khiladi 420.' Akshay Kumar also reminisced about doing the same action sequence in Khatron Ke Khiladi, such as when Tom puts a hammock under the plane, and they both (Tom and Jerry) have a glass of wine together. Akshay quips, 'It is so violent. Please try to understand; it is a violent film you are showing your children (laughs).' For the unversed, Akshay Kumar 's 20-year-old action sequence where he hangs on an aeroplane and stands on top with swag went viral during the release of MI 8, claiming Akki did it even before Hollywood icon, Tom Cruise.
