Men who rob, shoot man before pursuit in Harrison Twp. get 4 years in prison
Mar. 27—Two men who were accused along with a Harrison Twp. woman of robbing and shooting a man following a drug deal and then fleeing from law enforcement last fall in Harrison Twp. were sentenced to prison Wednesday after pleading guilty in the case.
Jermaine and Jerrell Harbor were each sentenced by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Steven Dankof to four years in prison. Jermaine Harbor also had his driver's license suspended for three years.
Jerrell Harbor, 37, of Jefferson Twp., pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count each of aggravated robbery and felonious assault, while Jermaine Harbor, 23, of Kettering, pleaded guilty to one count each of aggravated robbery, having weapons while under disability and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
The Harbors were charged alongside Crystal Carpenter, 35, of robbing a man after buying marijuana from him.
According to an affidavit filed in Vandalia Municipal Court, at about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 30, 2024, Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies responded to Miami Valley Hospital and the 2700 block of Rugby Road near Golfview Avenue for a reported shooting.
At the hospital, deputies spoke to the victim, who said that he was in his car in front of a house on Rugby Road when a woman he knew from Snapchat bought marijuana from him, the affidavit said.
After the sale, he said two men approached his vehicle with guns drawn, robbed him of his bag and dragged him out of his vehicle. He then ran and was shot in the back, he said.
A family member who didn't see the shooting took him to the hospital, court documents said.
On Rugby Road, deputies said they found shell casings and blood on the north side of the road.
Court documents said the shooting also was caught on video.
The video showed a car pulling up to the victim's vehicle, a woman getting out of the back and making a transaction with the victim, then getting back in the car, investigators said.
The car then pulls out of view but two men, later identified as Jerrell and Jermaine Harbor, come back into frame with guns drawn and approach the victim's car, the affidavit said. The two men rob the victim, and when he runs Jermaine fires a gun in the air before both chase the victim out of frame, documents said.
Investigators said the victim was then shot in the back and the men fled in the car.
The suspect vehicle was identified on a Flock camera as it fled, the affidavit said.
At about 8:30 p.m. that day, deputies found the suspect vehicle and tried to stop it on North Dixie Drive near Bartley Road in Harrison Twp., documents said, but it fled, pursued by law enforcement. Tire deflation devices were used during the chase, and the vehicle finally stopped near North Dixie Drive and Republic Drive.
Investigators said the Harbors and Carpenter were arrested and matched the description of the people in the video. Deputies executing a search warrant on the vehicle found a black bag containing a wallet with the victim's ID and credit cards, the affidavit said.
Carpenter is scheduled for trial April 21 on two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of felonious assault, all of which have three-year firearm specifications.

Florida teacher, 28, accused of sending lewd photo to middle school student via social media
A Florida middle school teacher allegedly sent a nude image of herself to a 14-year-old student, authorities said. Oliver Fell, 28, who taught at Carlos E. Haile Middle School in Brandenton, is charged with lewd conduct with a student by an authority figure and transmission of harmful material to a minor, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said. Investigators launched a probe in March after the student reported the allegations on March 3 to a school resource deputy that Fell had been allegedly talking with the boy via Snapchat since December 2024. She allegedly sent an explicit photo of her breasts to the student on Jan. 2. The allegations were reported to the School District of Manatee County and the sheriff's office. "After obtaining a search warrant and receiving permission to access data from phones and social media accounts, detectives discovered evidence indicating that the communications led to lewd conduct involving the victim," the sheriff's office said. Fell turned herself in to authorities on Monday after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She remains in custody on a $2,500 bond. Irene Nikitopoulos, the principal at Carlos E. Haile Middle School, acknowledged the matter in a letter to parents. She said it "took several weeks of investigation to confirm the allegations of the illegal communications" and that Fell was reassigned. She said the district continues to cooperate with the investigation. Fox News Digital has reached out to the school district.

Navy Sailor, 21, Suddenly Disappears After She Was Last Seen at Station Barracks
Angelina Petra Resendiz, a 21-year-old Navy sailor from Texas, has disappeared, according to family and authorities Virginia State Police said the woman was last seen at her barracks in Norfolk on May 29 'She's spent no money, made no calls. She just stopped. She disappeared," her mother, Esmerelda Castle saidA Navy sailor has suddenly disappeared, and her family is desperate to find her. The Virginia State Police (VSP) announced on Tuesday, June 3, that a 'critically missing adult alert' has been issued for 21-year-old Angelina Petra Resendiz. Resendiz was last seen 'at her barracks in Miller Hall at Naval Station Norfolk' at 10 a.m. local time on Thursday, May 29, according to state police. She is described as a 5-foot-tall white/Hispanic woman with brown eyes and black hair, and weighing about 110 lbs. "She's very kind. She's very loving," said her mother, Esmeralda Castle, according to ABC affiliate WVEC. Castle lives in Texas, where Resendiz grew up, according to the report. She said her daughter goes by the nickname 'Angie' and is a culinary specialist with the Navy. Before her disappearance, Resendiz would talk to a family member or friend 'every single day,' Castle told WVEC. "Her and my sister have a 400-day streak on Snapchat,' she added. Last week, friends and family stopped hearing from Resendiz, and the Navy sailor missed work, according to Castle. She reached out to the Navy after she was unable to reach her daughter. "She just stopped existing Thursday,' the mom explained. 'She's spent no money, made no calls. She just stopped. She disappeared.' State police said Resendiz's disappearance 'poses a credible threat' to her health and safety. Castle told CBS affiliate WTKR that her daughter wouldn't leave work 'unauthorized' or 'without permission.' 'Angie's too scared to miss work; she wouldn't do that,' the mom explained. She said she is going to Virginia herself 'to find out what I can.'
