But jurors were unable to reach a verdict on whether he and brother Muhammad Amaad, 26, assaulted Pc Zachary Marsden causing actual bodily harm. The pair are now facing a retrial on that count, which has been set for April 7 next year. Footage showed Amaaz resisting arrest as the officers tried to move him away from a payment machine to cuff him. He threw ten punches - including one to PC Ward's face that sent her crashing to the ground with blood pouring from her nose. Amaaz also twice struck firearms officer PC Cook with his elbow. Both Amaaz and PC Marsden then fell to the ground before the officer got up and appeared to "stamp" his foot towards Amaaz's head, Liverpool Crown Court heard. But jurors were told the cop "doesn't appear to connect with Mr Amaaz". Most read in The Sun As the brawl continued, the police officers got their Tasers out before managing to handcuff the brothers with the help of other cops. At one point, PC Ward could be seen appearing to cry as she holds her nose. The brothers later said they were threatened by an officer and thrown to the ground. Giving evidence, Amaaz said he feared the "lunatic" male officer would "batter him to death", while Amaad said he believed he was under attack. A bail application for Amaaz, who was remanded in custody after the verdicts were returned, has been adjourned until August 26. 3 Amaaz broke one of the officer's noses in the carnage

Monster GUILTY of murdering ex-fiancee at luxury hotel after she agreed to celebrate his 60th birthday
A MONSTER has been found guilty of raping and murdering his ex-fiancee at a luxury hotel after she agreed to celebrate his birthday. Samantha Mickleburgh arranged to stay with James Cartwright because she "didn't want him to feel lonely" for his 60th. 2 James Cartwright has been found guilty of murdering his ex 2 Samantha was discovered dead in a hotel room Credit: Surrey Police The mum-of-two, 54, was later discovered dead at the swanky Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot, Surrey, on April 14 last year. Cartwright, 61, has now been found guilty of murder following a trial. Guildford Crown Court heard Samantha and Cartwright started their "whirlwind" romance in 2022 and got engaged a year later. After they split, Cartwright continued to pursue his ex - showing up at her home unannounced and "bombarding" her with calls. Prosecutor Louise Oakley said: "She didn't wish him any ill, but she no longer wanted to live with him and no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him. "But part of her also felt bad for him, believing that he had no one else to spend that day with. "As a result, she had arranged a celebratory meal and stay at Penny Hill Park and Spa, and in a final act of selflessness, she honoured that commitment despite telling friends and family that the relationship was over."
