Workshops and activities
The discussion sessions began with a workshop named "Scouting and Sustainable Development," led by Dr. Hani Abdul Moneim. This workshop emphasised the role of scouts in promoting global sustainability goals and increasing youth's awareness of environmental and social challenges.
Scouts took part in a first aid workshop designed to provide them with crucial life-saving skills for emergencies. A field visit to the "BEEAH" centre was organised, offering participants a distinctive educational experience regarding the significance of recycling, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource protection.
Dr Iman Abdel Shahid Ibrahim conducted an engaging workshop called "The Future of Plastic Recycling," highlighting the importance of recycling in reaching sustainable development goals and enhancing environmental awareness.

The 10th International Scout Meeting acts as a worldwide forum uniting young people from different nations to share experiences across various domains. The activities will persist until February 17, 2025, centred around the theme "Scouting and Sustainable Development." This initiative is made possible through the generous support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi in partnership with the Emirates Scout Association, the Arab Scout Organisation in the Arab Scout Region, and various international organisations.

Sheikh Sultan inaugurates new building for Sharjah Scout Mission
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the new building for the Sharjah Scout Mission (SSM). Sheikh Sultan also witnessed the launch of the 10th International Scout Gathering, hosted by SSM until Feb.17, under the theme "Scouting and Sustainable Development." Upon his arrival, Sheikh Sultan unveiled the commemorative plaque, marking the official opening of the new building, and signed the scarf featuring the event's logo, taking photos with the organising committee members who welcomed his support for scouting activities. Sheikh Sultan toured the new facility, which includes administrative offices, educational and sports amenities, meeting rooms, a theater, and a reception area, learning about the various services available for scouts. The ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem, followed by verses from the Quran. Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, the general supervisor of the organising committee, expressed gratitude to His Highness for inaugurating the building and attending the gathering's opening. He highlighted His Highness's unwavering support for scouting and the significance of the 10 gatherings held over 22 years, making Sharjah a key destination for scouting activities. Al Suwaidi noted that this gathering involves 80 countries and 300 participants, showcasing Sharjah's significant contributions to both Arab and global scouting. He emphasised the importance of the gathering's theme, which embodies cooperation and friendship among youth worldwide, and the role of scouting in achieving sustainable development.
