Vision: Schitt's Creek Star Joins MCU Show, Character Has Connection to Iron Man
The upcoming MCU show has added a new cast member.
Emily Hampshire is best known for playing Stevie Budd in Schitt's Creek, the CBC Television series that aired from 2015 to 2020 and also stars Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, and Annie Murphy. She also has a leading role in Amazon Prime Video's The Rig, which has so far run for two seasons.
Now, Hampshire is officially joining the MCU as she'll star opposite Paul Bettany in the forthcoming Vision show, which serves as a spin-off to Marvel's WandaVision.
Per Deadline, Hampshire is believed to be playing 'the sophisticated artificial intelligence E.D.I.T.H. (Even Dead, I'm The Hero), Tony Stark's augmented reality security and defense system. In the MCU, E.D.I.T.H. was originally created by Stark and bequeathed to Peter Parker following Stark's death. It provides access to Stark Industries' global satellite network along with an arsenal of missiles and drones.'
The E.D.I.T.H. character was originally voiced by Dawn Michelle King in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Far From Home. During that movie, Peter briefly let Quentin Beck/Mysterio access E.D.I.T.H. before reclaiming the technology for himself; however, it was then confiscated by the United States Department of Damage Control.
Whether or not Hampshire will physically appear in the show or is just voicing the character remains unclear at this time.
In addition to Bettany and Hampshire, the cast of the Vision MCU show includes James Spader as Ultron, T'Nia Miller as Jocasta, Faran Tahir as Raza, Todd Stashwick, and Ruaridh Mollica.
Plot details for the Marvel Television show remain under wraps at this time, though it will presumably follow the White Vision character who emerged at the end of WandaVision. A premiere date has not yet been set.

Madame Web star Dakota Johnson thinks she knows why the Sony Marvel movie flopped, but she's not really that fussed about it. The Spider-Man spin-off was a critical and commercial failure, earning only $100.5 million at the worldwide box office and garnering a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of just 11%. "There's this thing that happens now where a lot of creative decisions are made by committee," Johnson told the LA Times. "Or made by people who don't have a creative bone in their body. And it's really hard to make art that way. Or to make something entertaining that way. And I think unfortunately with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point. But that happens. Bigger-budget movies fail all the time. "I don't have a Band-Aid over it," she added. "There's no part of me that's like, 'Oh, I'll never do that again' to anything. I've done even tiny movies that didn't do well. Who cares?" Madame Web was also heavily memed, just like another Sony Marvel movie that infamously flopped, Morbius. "If it wasn't for internet culture and everything being made into a joke, I think that the reception would've been different," Madame Web star Emma Roberts said of the film's reception. "And that's what bums me out about a lot of stuff, even stuff that I've done, is people just make such a joke out of everything now." Disney Plus Reveals Updated MCU Timeline
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown exponentially since the release of Iron Man in 2008. Now, nearly two decades later in 2025, the MCU timeline has been updated via Disney Plus. Fans can now see how more than fifty titles in the multimedia franchise are chronologically organized by the studio. This updated version of the MCU timeline now includes Captain America: Brave New World which was recently added to the streaming service. For fans that want to enjoy the follow-up to the original Captain America trilogy and its television spin-off The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , they can now do so in chronological order if they're interested in having one crazy marathon. Of course, the list doesn't yet include the newly-released film Thunderbolts , though fans can rest assured that the film will be the most recent title to occur chronologically on the list. It's also worth noting that Spider-Man: No Way Home isn't yet available on Disney Plus, so that particular title is missing. Ryan Coogler confirms he has a role for Denzel Washington in 'Black Panther 3': 'He's the greatest living actor'
It looks like the third time will be the charm for Ryan Coogler and the man he considers to be the greatest actor on the planet. During a recent podcast appearance, the writer and director behind the Marvel blockbusters Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever confirmed that he has crafted a role specifically for Denzel Washington in the planned third installment of the superhero franchise. "I've been trying to work with him since day one," Coogler said on the latest episode of 7PM in Brooklyn With Carmelo Anthony. "I think he's the greatest living actor. And in terms of what he means to our culture, forget about it. I've been talking to him about this for a long time, and I was surprised when he mentioned it. But it's not like it's not true." Coogler — who also cautioned that there's a lot of untrue information about his work floating around out there — was referring to Washington's surprise announcement last November that he'd be part of the cast of Black Panther 3. "I don't know how many more films I'm gonna make, probably not that many," Washington, 70, said on Australia's Today. "I want to do things I haven't done. I played Othello at 22. I am about to play Othello at 70 [on Broadway]. After that, I am playing Hannibal. After that, I've been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler's writing a part for me in the next Black Panther. After that, I'm gonna do the film Othello. After that, I'm gonna do King Lear. After that, I'm gonna retire." The following month, the two-time Oscar winner said he wasn't supposed to have revealed his involvement in the highly anticipated project, which Marvel has yet to officially announce. "I called [Coogler] the other day. I forgot what it was about — no, I called him to apologize," Washington said on the Variety Awards Circuit podcast. "That's right. I called him. I said, 'I'm sorry, man.' He's like, 'No, man, it's all good.' I FaceTimed, and right there next to him was his lady. They were editing. They were hanging out." The actor has a connection to the Black Panther franchise for reasons beyond Coogler's appreciation for his work in films such as Malcolm X and Training shared a bond with Chadwick Boseman, who starred as the title character, a.k.a. T'Challa, in the original Black Panther, before he died of colon cancer in 2020, at 43. The year before he died, Boseman honored Washington while presenting him with the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award, and along the way explained that Washington had been a silent benefactor who helped fund nine theater students from Howard University, including Boseman, to attend a summer program at Oxford.
