13 Palestinians martyred by Israeli fire; child dies of starvation in Gaza
GAZA (WAM)At least 13 Palestinians, including two children, were martyred, and several others injured on Sunday after Israeli forces opened fire on people waiting for humanitarian aid in northern and southern Gaza, according to medical sources.In the south of the enclave, six civilians were killed near an aid distribution centre to the southwest of Khan Younis, where crowds had gathered in hopes of receiving critical supplies.Meanwhile, six more Palestinians were killed after being targeted by Israeli army gunfire near an aid distribution centre on the outskirts of Rafah.In central Gaza, at least one Palestinian was killed in a similar Israeli attack on aid seekers in the Netzarim Corridor.In a separate incident, Israeli forces targeted civilians waiting for aid near the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza, resulting in additional injuries. The exact number of wounded remains unclear.These latest incidents follow a deadly attack on Saturday evening in which 10 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire while waiting for aid in northwestern Gaza.Meanwhile, medical sources at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat confirmed this morning the death of 10-year-old Nour Abu Sel'a due to starvation and severe malnutrition. Her death brings the total number of child fatalities in Gaza from hunger-related causes to 86.According to hospital staff, the overall death toll from starvation in Gaza Strip has now reached 128.

UK to announce plan to bring Palestinian children for NHS care 'within weeks'
The UK government will reportedly announce a plan to bring up to 300 acutely ill Palestinian children from Gaza for free medical treatment in the NHS "within weeks". Each child brought to the UK will be accompanied by a parent or guardian and siblings if neccessary with some expected never to return home, according to The Sunday Times which was briefed by a senior Whitehall source. The policy shift follows a 20-month campaign by doctors, lawyers and humanitarians who have called on the government to establish a scheme for Palestinian children similar to one created for Ukrainians. Israel's assault on Gaza that followed the Hamas-led 7 October attacks have destroyed Gaza's healthcare system. At least 12,000 adults and children are in need of medical evacuations, according to the World Health Organisation. Since October 2023, over 7,000 Palestinians have been evacuated, mostly to Egypt, the UAE and Qatar, with Jordan, European countries - particularly Italy, Spain and Romania - and the US taking much of the rest. The UK has allowed three Palestinian children into the country for privately funded medical treatment, including Majd al-Shagnobi, 15, who arrived last week.
