Pahalgam terror attack: LeT terrorist's sister says, ‘My one brother is in jail, the other brother is Mujahideen'
With the house of two of the three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, believed to be behind the Pahalgam Terror attack, has been demolished, his sister called him a 'Mujahideen'.
Speaking to the ANI in Tral, the sister of the terrorist allegedly involved in Pahalgam attack, said, '...My one brother is in jail, the other brother is a 'Mujahideen', and I also have two sisters. Yesterday, when I came here from my in-laws' place, I did not find my parents and siblings at their home. Police had taken them all away.'
"While I was here, the Security Forces came and asked me to move to a neighbour's house. I saw a man wearing a camouflage uniform placing an object like a bomb on top of the house. After that, the house was demolished...We are innocent. They have destroyed our house," she said.
On Thursday, the house of two of the three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists was demolished. The first house belonged to Asif Fauji alias Asif Sheikh in South Kashmir's Tral. The second was of Adil Hussain Thokar from Bijbehara block in Anantnag district in south Kashmir, according to news agency PTI.
On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir police released a set of sketches of the terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam attacks that killed 26 people. The police said the sketches were made based on eyewitness accounts.
The officials said the sketches are of Asif Fauji or Asif Sheikh, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha. The three terrorists also had code names — Moosa, Yunus and Asif — and were involved in terror-related incidents in Poonch.
Earlier on 22 April, a brutal terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's scenic Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam took place, in which 26 people were killed, including both locals and visitors.

Delhi police conducts vehicle checking, patrolling ahead of Eid al Adha
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Delhi police conducted vehicle checking in some parts of the city ahead of Eid-Al-Adha, which will be celebrated on Saturday, to create a sense of security among people and appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony. Intensified checks were conducted in the Kartavya Path area, where police personnel were seen stopping and inspecting vehicles during routine patrols. Similarly, the police carried out security checks at the Yusuf Sarai area, the Ranjit Singh flyover, and the Nelson Mandela Marg. In view of Bakrid, we will keep deployment early in the morning.' Speaking to ANI on Friday, Joint Commissioner of Police, Southern Range, Sanjay Kumar Jain said, 'We are doing general checking. It is the weekend, and tomorrow is Bakrid; We are doing extra patrolling and vehicle checking. The aim of checking is to create a sense of security among people... We appeal to all to maintain peace and harmony. We all should maintain brotherhood and celebrate the festival.' The security measures are part of broader efforts to prevent any untoward incidents during the Bakra Eid festival. Officials have been instructed to remain vigilant and conduct thorough inspections while ensuring minimal inconvenience to commuters. Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP), New Delhi, Devesh said, 'In New Delhi, 80 two-wheelers are on patrol, and 48 pickets have been established... For Eid, we have a strong presence where there may be a possibility of any chaos... We also did street meetings. We appeal to everyone that the animal sacrifice may be done in closed premises and not in the open...' "12 naxals with total bounty of over Rs 1 crore surrendered today": Maharashtra CM Fadnavis
Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) [India], June 6 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Friday that around 12 naxals, having a total bounty of over Rs one crore, surrendered before him in Gadhchiroli. Speaking with the media, CM Fadnavis urged the Naxals to surrender, adding that if they don't, then action will be taken against them. 'Today, around 12 naxals with a total bounty of over Rs 1 crore surrendered before me here. This is a big blow to Naxalism. The Naxals want to join the mainstream now. I believe this is a significant incident. There are very few Naxals left in the state today. I urge them to surrender. If they do not surrender, then action will be taken against them,' the Maharashtra CM said. According to a press note from the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli, a total of 704 active Maoists till date have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police. It mentioned the 12 Maoists who surrendered today. 'Today, twelve Senior Maoist Cadre Sapana (55), Ramdas (55), Shivlal (60), Pushpa (55), Kosa Kumma Gota (Commander of Kutul LOS) aged 35 years, Durgi (35), Ajay (27), Sangita (40), Savita (35), Anju (25), Aruna (30) and Dilip (28) have surrendered before the Chief Minister,' the release stated. The release also mentioned the rewards announced by the Centre and Maharashtra government for the surrendered Naxals.'After surrender, Sapana, Ramdas, Shivlal, and Pushpa will receive Rs 8.5 Lakhs as reward declared by the Central & Maharashtra Government for rehabilitation,' the release stated. Kosa Kumma Gota will receive Rs. 5.5 Lakhs, Durgi and Ajay receive Rs 05 Lakhs, while Sangita, Savita, Anju and Aruna will receive Rs 4.5 lakhs. Dilip will receive Rs 5 lakhs as reward for rehabilitation. 'State government has announced a reward of Rs. 1.5 lakhs as additional assistance to Maoist members who are husband and wife for their surrender. (Shivlal Pada and his wife Pushpa),' the release said. Devendra Fadnavis also attended the mass wedding ceremony of surrendered Naxalites in Gadchiroli. Speaking on this, he said, '13 couples who were earlier naxals got married in a mass wedding ceremony today. They not only surrendered but also joined the mainstream.' Earlier today, CM Fadnavis visited the Kawande Police Outpost on the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border in the Gadchiroli district. This outpost was set up by the Maharashtra Police in March this year. Speaking with ANI, CM Fadnavis highlighted that earlier, even the administration could not reach here, but the Maharashtra Police opened an outpost here, thus providing security to the people here. 'Kawande is like the first village at the border or the village that comes first after entry from Chhattisgarh. There is the Abujhmarh forest nearby, and even the administration could not reach here. But our Police opened an outpost here. Due to this outpost, not just Police dominance, but we also filled a security vacuum. We also set up a 4G tower here. Police provided security, and we provide government schemes through this outpost. So, this has built confidence among people,' CM Fadnavis asserted. Speaking on the deadline to eliminate naxalism, the Maharashtra CM emphasised that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has pledged that the country will be Naxalism-free by March 2026.
