Drake's jaw-dropping gambling losses exposed as he warns fans

Daily Mirror9 hours ago

Drake has issued a warning to fans after revealing the true extent of his gambling losses.
The Passionfruit singer, 38, shared the reality behind the amount of cash he had lost through gambling as he shared a screengrab on Instagram - revealing he had lost $8million (£5.97million) in just one month.
Addressing his 142million Instagram followers, he said: "Gotta share the other side of gambling... Losses are so fried right now... I hope I can post a big one for you soon cause I'm the only one that has never seen a Max these guys Max once a week."
Toronto-born singer Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, went on to share his latest bet on an NBA game, putting down a huge $800,000 (£596,400) through two wagers.
It comes after a long and horrendous streak for Drake, who lost a $1million bet just a month ago, which he blamed Justin Bieber for. The music producer had bet on the Toronto Maple Leafs claiming victory in May against the Florida Panthers in the NHL. They ended up losing 6-1.
Following the defeat, Drake joked that Justin's presence at the arena had been a 'curse'.
Drake previously admitted that he is a "flawed" better. He said: "I am a flawed sports better. I will not deny that. That's not my gift." He added: "I'll let everybody roll with it."
He added: "I'm sure if you're a 'Drake curse' believer, there'll be plenty more content in the future for you to confirm your theories cause for whatever reason my slips do not cash out. But one day I'm gonna have a parlay that's insane."
Back in November, Drake also lost a major $355,000 (£264,652) bet back in November after Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson during their controversial fight in Texas.
He posted his bet online, showing he was confident Tyson, 58, would beat Paul, 27. The odds for a Tyson win were at 2.85 at the time of Drake's bet, meaning the could have won a massive $1,011,750 (£802,116), making a profit of $656,750 (£520,672).
But Drake lost the bet after Paul was announced as the winner of the fight, which was shown live on Netflix. Prior to that, Drake lost a number of other huge bets, including $1million (£790,000) for Argentina to beat France within 90 minutes at the 2022 World Cup final - which Argentina won during extra time.
In 2023, Drake also lost another massive bet when he dropped $1.2million (£950,000) on boxer Paul to defeat Tommy Fury. Earlier in 2024, Drake put down $565,000 (£448,000) to back Tyson Fury in his heavyweight bout with Oleksandr Usyk - but he lost that too. However, one of the bets the rapper shared with his followers on Instagram saw him win $425,000 (£336,780) when Alex Poatan beat UFC rival Jamahal Hill on April 13.
While Drake often shares his massive bets online, he is also a paid endorser of betting website Stake, which was co-founded by Australian billionaire Ed Crave. Being an endorser of the crypto-only casino means Drake is not likely to use his own money for the bets he posts online.
Stake - which is banned in the UK - allows players to use cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin as assets for online gambling and for placing sports bets. The company operates under the jurisdiction of the Caribbean island nation of Curaçao.

Louise Roe's tailored midi dress nails Royal Ascot's dress code and has 20% off

Fashion expert Louise Roe secured her place on Royal Ascot's best dressed list with a tailored red midi dress from Karen Millen – and you can still shop her exact look with 20% off This year's Royal Ascot outfits have been some of the best yet, and one celeb to firmly cement her place on the best dressed list is Louise Roe. The fashion journalist and broadcaster showed off her outfit on Instagram, opting for the form-fitting Pleated Tailored Midi Blazer Dress from high street favourite Karen Millen. The flattering tailored dress is usually priced at £229, but currently shoppers can save 20% on Louise's exact dress, with the price slashed to £183.20. Everything from its bold red hue to the sharp tailoring and breezy midi skirt made it a hit for the event, looking effortlessly cool whilst still nailing Royal Ascot 's smart occasionwear dress code. Described on the Karen Millen site as 'where power dressing meets feminine charm', the Pleated Tailored Midi Blazer Dress has a structured bodice with a short sleeved blazer-inspired design. It nips in at the waist and flares out gently over the hips to create an hourglass silhouette, with structured shoulders to balance your figure. The short sleeves help keep it cool enough to wear even in the high temperatures, with a classic double breasted button fastening and notched lapels that make it formal and smart. The fitted bodice then flows into a pleated midi skirt which has plenty of movement for a breezy, effortless look. Although Louise's Karen Millen Tailored Midi Dress is still available to buy, it's currently selling out quickly with only sizes six, 10 and 14 left in stock. We did however spot another very similar design at Karen Millen, with the Petite Tailored Crepe Asymmetric Pleated Midi Dress slashed by a huge 70% from £289 to £87. Elsewhere this Friends Like These Red Long Sleeve Belted Wrap Tailored Dress from Next (£49) has a similar spirit to Louise's Karen Millen dress, albeit with a more simple design. For something more breezy and on the casual side, Finery London's Penny Red Midi Dress is also £49 and is made from a breezy, flowing cotton material. However if you want to get your hands on Louise's Pleated Tailored Midi Blazer Dress and it still has your size available, now is the perfect time to snap it up. Jonathan Bailey And Scarlett Johansson: Unpacking The Politics Of A Platonic Red Carpet Kiss

Something happened at the London premiere of Jurassic World Rebirth that caused ripples online. Scarlett Johansson, the star of the film, walked over to her co-star Jonathan Bailey on the red carpet and planted a smooch on his lips. It's worth disclaiming off the bat that Johansson is married to Saturday Night Live comedian Colin Jost, and that Bailey is openly gay. In theory, those disclaimers, and the fact the kiss looked consensual between two close friends and colleagues, should be enough to put the discourse to bed. But, of course, that's not how the digital world works, is it? Photos, videos and memes of Johansson in her pink Vivienne Westwood dress kissing a blazer and baseball cap-wearing Bailey have gone viral. The story has also been reported by various news outlets around the world. Jonathan Bailey und Scarlett Johansson at the world premiere. (Photo: IMAGO) Page Six, for one, shared the images on X with the caption: 'Colin Jost, you seem to have some competition.' While Vulture covered the story with the title, 'Jonathan Bailey is allowed to kiss your wife.' The Today Show's headline reads, 'Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey kiss on the red carpet and fans approve.' Speaking of fans, one X user wrote: 'Scarlett Johansson just doing what you supposed to do when you have your crush close to you,' and attached a junket video of the actress gushing about her co-star. In the clip, Johansson is speaking to BBC Radio 1 and said, 'I will say my current celebrity crush because I am working with him and he's too cute for words and it's Jonathan Bailey. I absolutely love him. I have such a crush on him.' As such another X user simply posited, 'You know it's #PrideMonth when a hot straight girl kisses a hot gay man.' While a third wrote, 'This new collaboration and friendship warms my heart.' However, the picture was not as positive over on Instagram. Under a clip of the kiss, one person commented: 'So its okay for a married woman to kiss a gay man on the lips? You have some real weird customs in the States not gonna lie.' Another wrote, 'Wait, I'm so confused.' A third comment reads, 'Just because you played in a movie together doesn't give you the right to just kiss each other when you see each other at celebrity events.' If you watch the full clip, which is less than 30 seconds long, Johansson claps excitedly as she spots Bailey on the carpet before walking over and giving him a quick kiss and a longer hug. They both look extremely happy to see each other. The video proves how misleading a still image can be without context. That's not to say public kisses should always be taken at face value or that we should freely give the benefit of the doubt. There have been countless uncomfortable moments over the years where the public and media have been privy to a seemingly non-consensual kiss. Earlier this year, Spain's former football federation boss, Luis Rubiales, was found guilty of sexual assault for kissing the player Jenni Hermoso without consent when Spain won the 2023 Women's World Cup. He was ordered to pay a fine of €10,800 (£8,942). Johansson has even been on the receiving end of an awkward red carpet kiss herself. In 2015, John Travolta planted a peck on Johansson's cheek at the Oscars and in the viral picture she looks somewhat disengaged. However, kisses really do come on a case by case basis. She later released a statement to say the viral photo was taken out of context. 'There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta,' she told the Associated Press. 'The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome.' She continued, 'That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live. Yet another way we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalised by the 24-hour news cycle. I haven't seen John in some years, and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him.' The reality is any time famous co-stars or contemporaries share a kiss in public – especially if they are not dating – it is bound to spark a conversation. In 2021, Jessica Chastain was forced to respond to her viral PDA moment with her Scenes From a Marriage co-star Oscar Isaac at the Venice Film Festival. While posing for photos together on the red carpet, Isaac grabbed Chastain's arm and kissed her inner bicep. It was met with a similar degree of social media chatter as Johansson and Bailey's moment – particularly because Isaac and Chastain are both married. Chastain responded by tweeting a photo of The Addams Family 's Gomez Addams kissing Morticia Addams' arm, captioning it with a devil emoji and 'Sept 12th' which was the release date of their new show. It also transpired that the pair had been friends for more than 20 years, having first met while studying at Juilliard together. In other words, there was nothing untoward about the bicep kiss, even if it isn't most co-stars' go-to pose. At Cannes this year, Pedro Pascal and Alexander Skarsgard shared their own 'viral kiss' (on the cheek) after Skarsgard's film Pillion received a seven-minute standing ovation. This was equally harmless and sweet, not least because Skarsgard recently became a father with his partner Tuva Novotny and the pair are good friends. Nevertheless, their platonic affection became a talking point. Sometimes it doesn't even have to be a kiss, either. Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, who co-starred in the romcom Anyone But You, are constantly bombarded with questions about the state of their relationship. Despite confirming that they are just friends, their tactile friendship and comfortability gushing about each other is always a source of confusion for fans on social media. It's been almost two years since their film came out and they are still 'shipped' on a weekly basis. In the post #MeToo era, our collective up-tightness around platonic PDA makes sense. If we're going to default to any position, questioning kisses between co-stars or friends who aren't romantically involved seems like a sensible one. However, we mustn't let it warp our sense of what healthy, friendly, reciprocated affection looks like in the process. Not every kiss is suspicious. And if those involved don't mind, then we shouldn't either. Nikki Peach is a writer at Grazia UK, working across entertainment, TV and news. Meghan Markle makes huge announcement on work project as she's 'spread too thin'

The Duchess of Sussex has announced that her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, will not be returning for a second season anytime soon. Meghan Markle has made a significant announcement about the future of her podcast, confessing that she's been "spread too thin" with her various ventures. The Duchess of Sussex candidly admitted this during a heart-to-heart conversation with Emma Grede on her Aspire podcast. Meghan disclosed that her own podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, won't be returning for a second series anytime soon, as she shifts her focus more towards her lifestyle brand As Ever. ‌ She initially inked the deal with Lemonada Media in 2024 for her podcast, which premiered in April, with 12 episodes broadcast within a few months. Meghan recognised "that there is so much excitement and desire for another season" of the podcast, but added, "I need to focus on my business. People seem to forget that very rarely do people see everything that's happening behind the scenes", reports the Mirror. ‌ The podcast was launched simultaneously as Meghan's lifestyle brand As Ever announced its first product release, which Meghan described as "was perfect synergy". She reflected on the hectic period in her life as she balanced her multiple businesses, stating: "As I knew I was in this building phase of my business, what an amazing opportunity to pull back the curtain and let people see what's happening at the start, when all the twists and turns are there." The Duchess of Sussex spoke about her experiences as a female founder and entrepreneur, saying: "For me to have the opportunity to talk to so many female founders who've been on that full trajectory-that are on the other side of success, but still at certain chapters in their career and their growth-but to be able to be really candid and vulnerable personally about my learns and stumbles along the way and then to take everyone's advice-and mine included." Meghan is also working on the second season of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which is due to air later this year. During a conversation with podcast host Emma Grede, Meghan joked: "At a certain point, the only thing I want spread thin is my jam." The news about the podcast's future comes after Meghan announced that her lifestyle brand, As Ever, will be launching new products. On the brand's Instagram page, she hinted at a new collection, saying that "delicious surprises" are in store for the second launch. ‌ Meghan wrote: "Oh yes, things await. We're bringing back your favorites, plus some delicious surprises you won't want to miss!" The new range will be available on June 20 at 8am PT (4pm UK time), and Meghan told her followers to "mark your calendars". Meghan accompanied the caption with a photo of a stack of pancakes smothered in sweet raspberries and a generous helping of honey, fuelling speculation that her sought-after honey, as well as her popular jams, may soon be back on sale. In a newsletter to fans, she expressed her gratitude, saying: "First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As ever absolutely extraordinary. We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise." She went on to reveal that on June 20th, they will be restocking the products that fans love, along with some new tasty surprises, adding that "so much love has gone into this".
