I moved to a Spanish city where beer is just £1.50 – now I don't waste my evenings away watching EastEnders

A YOUNG woman who was sick of her 'miserable' life decided to ditch her hometown for a sunny Spanish city.
Tori Clinton, from Dublin, says her life did a 180 once she moved to Spain and shared her favourite parts of the lifestyle there.

The 30-year-old has spent the last two years living abroad and said her favourite part was the £1.50 beers on offer.
Now in the popular city of Malaga, she said the culture change has drastically improved her life and changed her mindset on booze.
Now, she visits her local every day to soak up the sun with a 'cheeky caña'. The small beer only costs £1.50 in Tori's favourite spots, while a pint costs just £2.17. In comparison, the average price of a pint in her hometown is now a whopping £6.42.
Tori, who is a freelance worker, says having the odd tipple instead of binge drinking, and embracing a culture where work isn't the be-all and end-all, has allowed her to 'become the best version' of herself.
'I was miserable back home. I look back and wonder how I survived so long in my past life,' Tori told Luxury Travel Daily.
'It is so normal to do things on evenings after work, not just go home like back home and watch EastEnders.
'Going to my local is my favourite time of the day - it's time for me to catch up on some life admin and work, but also check in with myself and journal my thoughts.
'I mean, who doesn't want to be sat out in the evening sun with a cheeky caña, thinking 'how is this my life?'
'In Spain, there is no binge drinking, and you never see people super drunk or messy.
'They sip their alcohol and pace themselves.

Benidorm 'becoming too POSH' as dejected expat complains of empty beaches & buzz-free bars after Brits 'priced out'
'Being Irish, our favourite thing to say is 'shall we get another?' when in fact there is no need for that other drink.
'This is something you would never hear people here say, and it has taken time to shift to this mindset.
'Everything feels so much cheaper as the prices are so different in comparison to Ireland and England.
Work and career are a lower priority here - it's all about living and enjoying, rather than chasing work pressures.
Tori Clinton
'When I go back there to visit family, it can be quite a shock - even when getting a coffee.'
Tori quit her job and travelled to Malaga, a place she often visited as a child with her family, in 2023.
After falling in love with her new life, she decided to settle down in the Spanish coastal city.
She added: 'Work and career are a lower priority here - it's all about living and enjoying, rather than chasing work pressures.
'There are, however, some cultural aspects that have been hard to grasp and still grind my gears.
'As everything is slower paced here, so too is paperwork and getting things done without over complicating everything, but look - we can't have it all.
'It can also be like being on a rollercoaster with your emotions as you're trying to build a life and a home in a country where you're not fluent in their language.'
Moving house hacks
1. Declutter Before You Pack
Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.
2. Create an Inventory
Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.
3. Use Quality Packing Materials
Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.
4. Label Everything
Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.
5. Pack a 'First Day' Box
Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.
6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup
Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.
7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items
Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.
8. Colour-Code Your Boxes
Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.

Camila Cabello sizzles in a skimpy string bikini next to her rich beau during lovefest in Ibiza

was seen enjoying a sunny beach day on Wednesday in Ibiza, Spain. The Senorita singer was in a tiny white string bikini that was very flattering to her toned and slender figure as it was low on fabric but high on style. The 28-year-old Cuba native was not alone during her dip in the warm Balearic Sea. Behind her was her new boyfriend, Lebanese businessman Henry Junior Chalhoub, 38. The day before they were seen kissing on both a wood dock as well as in the water as they seemed like they could not pack in enough affection. Ibiza is one of the Balearic islands, an archipelago of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. It's well known for the lively nightlife in Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, where major European nightclubs have summer outposts. The Senorita singer was in a tiny white string bikini that was very flattering to her toned and slender figure as it was low on fabric but high on style Henry looked ready to swim in his red ombre swimming trunks as he wore black sunglasses on his head. The day before he had on black camouflage shorts. Camila wore her long hair down as she added a gold cross necklace and small hoop earrings. The singer's new love Henry is believed to be a member of the wealthy Chalhoub family, known for founding the Dubai-based luxury fashion company, Chalhoub Group. Before their trip to Ibiza, the couple were seen in Monaco at the Formula 1 races. Cabello and Chalhoub were first linked in November 2024 at an Elie Saab fashion show afterparty in Saudi Arabia. They sparked romance rumors when they were seen packing on the PDA as they frolicked in the ocean in St. Barts in January. The couple went to the pre-BAFTA Nominees party on February 15 in London. They also piled on the PDA while sitting in the front row of Chanel's 2025 Fall/Winter fashion show on March 11 in Paris. They were playfully holding hands before the fashion show started until Chalhoub saw someone filming them and hid his face behind Camila's shoulder. Chalhoub comes from a very wealthy family who owns Dubai-based luxury fashion distribution company Chalhoub Group. The company works with Versace, Jimmy Choo, Jacquemus and several LVMH-owned brands. The mission of the company is to be a partner and creator of luxury experiences in the Middle East,' per their official website. Chalhoub's grandfather Michel and family were worth $1.7 billion as of 2019. Camila has been open about wanting to keep her private life out of the public eye. Camila uses caution when she talks about her love life. 'I get why people are interested in my love life, but I don't want to give people that piece of me because it is the most important part,' she told Latina magazine. Cabello went on to outline her 'dream life': 'I want to make songs and have incredible experiences with people. 'I don't want to be locked up in a hotel room and just do press and red carpets. That's not the kind of life I want to live.' The Havana, Cuba, native is gearing up to hit the road for her second headlining concert tour in support of her latest and fourth studio album, C, XOXO . The Yours, C Tour, which marks her first tour in over seven years, kicked off June 21 in in Marbella, Spain, with dates across Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. The tour is currently scheduled to end with a performance September 14 at The Town Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. To promote her recent album, Cabello has already performed at a series of music festivals and events, including Glastonbury and Mawazine and the iHeart Radio Music Festival, among others.

Iconic DJ, 58, with smash hit UK no 1 reveals anti-ageing secrets as his youthful looks leave fans baffled

ROGER SANCHEZ is in the best shape of his life and, ahead of his next mega- show at Pacha in Ibiza on Sunday night, the superstar DJ told me he trains like an athlete. In an exclusive chat ahead of the concert, Roger says: 'I've been thinking about the hyperbaric chambers that footballers go in and I'm going to start getting more into cold water plunges. But I train. I go to the gym. I do take care of myself. I do biohacking too. 8 8 'I will have biohacked it to the point where I can jump up and down on stage for years to come. 'I'm trying to avoid wheelchairs at all costs.' His youthful looks belie his true age, with Roger just two years off celebrating his 60th birthday. And he admits fans are baffled by how he still looks so young, laughing: 'People always ask, 'Who's your plastic surgeon?' I'm like, 'God, I've never had any work done.' My wife keeps me on my toes. She is my inspiration.' Roger's other half, Kristen Knight, is a fellow DJ, and the pair split their time between the US and Ibiza — where Roger is a Pacha club stalwart. He says: 'We try to push each other forward with our music. 'Working together comes naturally, and we DJ together a lot. 'Turntable hog' 'We're both very technical DJs, so it works. 'But I've been around for quite some time, which allows me to open some doors, but equally I am happy to step back when it's time for her to take the position. When she's playing, I try to make sure that I'm supportive and she makes sure she's supportive of me. 'I tend to be a 'turntable hog', as she likes to call it. I try to step back and not be as greedy with the decks as I can be.' Roger Sanchez: The Lifelong DJ Keeping the Party Alive After Sunday night's show, Roger will play two more huge sets at the superclub before taking a final bow at Pacha's All Night Long closing weekend on October 12. And the veteran star has no plans to stop spinning the decks any time soon. 'I never gave thought to the expiration date,' Roger says. 'I enjoy the mental gymnastics of trying to think five tracks ahead and reading the dance floor. 'I've never really viewed this as a job. I viewed this as a passion, and I'm fortunate enough that they pay me to do so. 'That being said, I've never said, 'I'll keep doing this until I'm 100.' ' I wouldn't be surprised if he tried. Fly bye, Charli THEY tied the knot over the weekend, but Charli XCX and George Daniel are saving their honeymoon for after their second wedding later this year. Just 24 hours after formally saying their vows at Hackney Town Hall in East London, it was back to work for the Brat summer star. 8 8 My exclusive snaps show the singer being waved off by The 1975 drummer George at Luton Airport's jet terminal as she headed off on a job. Charli looked remarkably fresh-faced after partying with her closest friends and family until the early hours of Sunday following their wedding. But I bet she couldn't wait to grab an extra snooze on her fancy flight. The couple, who got engaged in 2023, will tie the knot again in Sicily later this year. My insiders told me Charli and George have organised a massive blow-out wedding for all of their loved ones. It's the cherry on the cake after an amazing year for the both of them. Miley Spotify gig made into movie MILEY CYRUS'S Billion Club Live concert with Spotify has been made into a film which is available to watch now. During the show, which was recorded in Paris in front of her biggest fans, Miley performs some of her biggest tracks, including Flowers, We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball, which have all surpassed one billion streams on the download service. Her film is the second to come from Spotify's Billions Club concert series, with the first featuring The Weeknd back in December. Glitz all fab fun ★★★☆☆ IF you're looking for a carbon copy of 2010 film Burlesque, I'm sad to say this West End adaptation might not be for you. But if you head to the Savoy Theatre with an open mind, I can promise you'll come away with a smile on your face, thanks to the camp-as-Christmas production. 8 Jess Folley steals the show as Christina Aguilera's Ali and takes on the difficult musical arrangements with ease. Christina was in the audience for the gala night and told those around her how proud she was of the actress after Jess took her final bow. Todrick Hall, who plays costume designer Sean, has undeniable star power and stage presence, and he's honed his comedic timing to perfection. The costumes and choreography are bold and brash, and the whole show is immediately impressive. At times, it feels like the production has turned from an adaptation of the hit film made popular by Cher and Christina, to a proper labour of love for Todrick, who not only stars but is also the director, choreographer and composer. Prior to the gala night, Todrick axed an hour of the show, which was definitely wise as the running time still stands at a beefy two and a half hours. Burlesque will no doubt divide fans and critics. But if you are willing to take in the beauty and sass of the cast – along with the cheesy jokes – it's guaranteed to lift your spirits. JACK HARDWICK Bieber Justin front in battle for No1 JUSTIN BIEBER is racing towards the No1 spot in the Official Singles Chart tomorrow. But it's going to be a photo finish, with his track Daisies now just 100 units ahead of Dior, by MK ft Chrystal. 8 If Justin, left, makes it to the top, Daisies will be his first No1 since he achieved the feat with Ed Sheeran on their song I Don't Care six years ago. Justin's new album Swag was released last week and has already broken all kinds of records. It is his most streamed project globally and went straight to the top of the charts on both Spotify and Apple Music's album charts in more than 100 countries. Swag is also his most personal album to date and we reckon it's well worth a listen if you've not already downloaded it. Price is right for Madge MADONNA is pushing ahead with her next album, and she wants her fans to know it. The Queen of Pop has been busy in a London studio where she has been working with Stuart Price. The album, Confessions Part 2, is the follow-up to her 2005 record Confessions On A Dance Floor. Madge had huge success with Stuart before, with the pair coming up with hits including Get Together, Jump and Hung Up. And insiders say they have been cooking up even more magic. 'Madonna sounds incredible,' my music mole said. 'She and Stuart are on fire and the songs sound so fresh and fun.' Hurry up and get it finished please, Madge – we're desperate to hear it. Biz Blinds GETTING a gift from your other half can be super-romantic. But when household name Bland Blanked started to woo one of his many glamorous lovers, the object of his affections got more than she bargained for when he popped 'his and hers' bags of cocaine on the table during a date. As it wasn't the kind of bag she might have hoped for, she duly dumped the handsome telly star. The only way is up the nose in Essex, clearly. Abi hides message THE Last Dinner Party's Abigail Morris says a song on new album From The Pyre was inspired by a 'situationship' she was in with another major artist. Speaking in the latest issue of Rolling Stone UK, the star said: 'I've spoken with so many artists who are in relationships with other artists and they use their albums and artwork to offer a secret code to them. 8 'I've done it too. In that song I interpolated a melody from the song of someone I was seeing at the time. 'It's not like I want them to know or the world to know – it's just I know and that's really entertaining to me.' We'll start guessing when it's released on October 17.

Massive Spanish hotspot introduces 10 new rules for tourists including bikini bans – you can risk a £650 fine

A POPULAR Spanish holiday hotspot has launched a set of new rules for tourists including 'dressing completely'. Those planning a trip to Malaga this summer should watch out for the new regulations that tourists need to follow. 4 4 Among the 10 rules launched in Malaga Tourism's 'Improve Your Stay Campaign', holidaymakers must 'dress completely' and 'not be conspicuous'. The set of rules - which initially were introduced last summer - has been updated as part of a behaviour campaign in an attempt to curb rowdy tourists. The list of 'strongly suggested' rules has been plastered across buses, billboards as well as social media. In a post on social media platform X, Malaga Tourism shared more information about some of the rules. Under the 'do not be conspicuous' rule, the post states: "Do not shout, sing or turn up the volume of your music. "Respect the resting hours of your neighbours, including the elderly, the sick, students, children and essential workers." Under the 'dress completely' rule, the post states: "Both on the street and in public places, always wear an upper garment for respect and hygiene." The post adds that scooters should only be ridden by one person, and cyclists should stick to bike lanes - not the pavement. In addition, visitors are expected to not litter and use designated bins and toilets. Those who break the rules could be handed a fine of up to €750 (£649.05). Back in January, it was announced that Malaga was banning the registration of new holiday lets in 43 districts of the city. The ban will be in place for three years, though it could be extended. The different areas where the rules apply have all reached or exceeded eight per cent of houses in their region being short-term holiday lets. An additional 32 secondary zones have also been identified where the proportion of tourist housing has reached or exceeds 4.53 per cent. New short-term holiday lets will be allowed in these areas until the eight per cent threshold is reached. 4 Malaga is loved by many Brits for its host of beaches, vibrant live music venues and top dining spots. And what is even better is that the holiday hotspot gets more than 300 days of sun a year. In the city itself, the old town is mainly pedestrianised - making it perfect to explore on foot. The city also has an 11th century forest with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and ocean. Holidaying in Spain this summer? The locals have a name for British tourists … and it's not flattering. Plus, from sea pools to hidden caves - S pain's cheapest beach destinations this summer. 4
