Bill looking to eliminate ticket, arrest quotas for law enforcement
Ohio lawmakers are pushing for legislation eliminating ticket and arrest quotas for law enforcement.

State representatives introduced House Bill 131, which would make such quotas illegal, CBS-affiliate WCPO reported.
'In Ohio, it is completely legal for us to mandate a police officer to go out every single day on a taxpayer dime to produce 10-20 tickets,' said State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake).

Ken Kober, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Queen City Lodge 69, expressed support for the bill.
'There's some communities that should be focused on violence — should be focusing on community and or policing,' Kober told WCPO. 'If you're requiring officers to go write tickets, it kind of takes away from an opportunity for an officer to do those things.'

ABC correspondent Terry Moran let go after post condemning Trump and Miller
Longtime ABC News correspondent Terry Moran is out of job after he made a social media post critical of President Donald Trump and White House Deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller. The network announced Tuesday that Moran's contract would not be renewed. 'We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew,' the network said in a statement. 'At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.' Moran's ouster is another victory for a White House that has aggressively pushed back against critics of Trump and his administration, which welcomed the removal of the ABC News correspondent. The network suspended Moran on Sunday after he wrote and later deleted the social media post, which was critical of both Trump and Miller, whom he called a 'world-class hater.' Trump allies seized on Moran's post, accusing him and the network of bias against the Trump administration. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called for Moran to be held 'accountable.' Reacting to reports of ABC not renewing Moran's contract on Tuesday, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung welcomed the news. 'Talk shit, get hit,' he wrote on X. The incident adds another win for a White House that has aggressively attacked mainstream media outlets for their coverage of the president. A federal appeals court partially upheld a Trump administration attempt to ban the Associated Press from covering events at the White House. Trump is currently suing CBS for $20 billion over the network's '60 Minutes' interview with Kamala Harris, Trump's opponent in the 2024 election. CBS is reportedly considering settling the lawsuit. In December, ABC News and its anchor George Stephanopoulos settled a lawsuit with Trump in which they were forced to pay the president $15 million after he accused Stephanopoulos of libel. Moran joined ABC News in 1997. He co-anchored 'Nightline' from 2005 to 2013 before working as the network's chief foreign correspondent for five years. He interviewed Trump in April as part of a special marking the first 100 days of the new administration.

Multiple people are being held without bond after complaints about drug sales led to their arrests. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Monroe County Sheriff Brad Freeman tasked the MCSO Narcotics Unit to investigate the multiple complaints about drug sales in and around the city of Forsyth. Deputies said after a lengthy investigation and several purchases made in the city of Forsyth on Monday and Tuesday, they arrested several people. The MCSO arrested Emory Denby, 50, Rex Williams, 69, Fredrick Zellner, 42, Robert Downs, 48, and John Blake Smith, 54, all of Monroe County. All five were charged with sale and distribution of methamphetamine and or cocaine. They are being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail. Shooting suspect in custody for deadly Paulding County road rage incident
A Cobb County man is currently behind bars after a road rage incident turned deadly in Paulding County. Collins Pruitt was later arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter. According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to respond to a shooting near Ridge Road and Cohran Store Road on Monday afternoon. The Paulding County Sheriff's Office said the victim of the shooting, later identified as Shawn Christopher Brannon of Piedmont, Ala., drove himself to a Paulding County fire station. The investigation into the incident revealed that Pruitt and Brannon first came into contact during a road rage confrontation, which turned deadly. Detectives found Pruitt at his home in Cobb County, where he was taken into custody without incident. Due to the circumstances of the situation, the sheriff's office said the 'shooting did not meet the legal threshold for a murder charge,' so Pruitt faces a single count of voluntary manslaughter, which is a felony.
