Satisfaction on every face is priority of govt: Yogi
Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that bringing happiness to every citizen in the state is the government's top priority, and efforts have been underway since day one to achieve this.
The CM held a 'Janata Darshan' at his official residence in Lucknow, during which he met and addressed grievances of over 60 citizens. He interacted with each visitor, enquired about their well-being, listened to their concerns and directed the officials for timely resolution of the issues.
Complaints ranged from police and revenue matters to medical aid, old-age pensions and road construction. Yogi collected written petitions from the complainants and handed them over to the officials concerned, directing them to take quick and effective action. He said that all grievances must be addressed within the stipulated time.
Taking cognisance of a recent incident in Kunda, Pratapgarh, he directed strict action and assured that the culprits would not be spared. During the Janata Darshan, two women raised complaints related to police misconduct, which he listened to carefully and instructed officials to act promptly.
An elderly mason from the Madiyaon police station area requested assistance for an old-age pension, to which the CM assured appropriate action as per rules. Several others approached with issues related to RTE, land measurement, housing, encroachments and electricity connections. He gave assurance that all complaints would be resolved.
Many complainants were accompanied by family members. Yogi interacted warmly with children, enquiring about their education, giving them chocolates and blessing them for a bright future.

Maha govt announces subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh to farmers for purchase of tractors
West Mumbai, June 30 (UNI) In a bid to boost the sale of electric tractors in the state, the Maharashtra government has taken a decision to give a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh to farmers if they purchase electric tractors for their work, said Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik today. This decision has been taken to reduce the cost of farmers and increase their income. Due to the increasing cost of diesel, the production cost of farmers is also increasing significantly. But their income is not rising that much in comparison, that is why, it has been decided to give a subsidy to farmers on electric tractors, said Sarnaik. "If farmers buy electric tractors, the state government will also provide them with a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh," he said. Along with this, interest-free loans will also be provided to farmers to buy tractors through the state government's Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation, Sarnaik added. New York/New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Terming terrorism as one of the gravest threats to humanity, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today said the world must come together on some basic concepts: no impunity to terrorists, no treating them as proxies and no yielding to nuclear blackmail. Addressing the gathering at the exhibition on "The Human Cost of Terrorism', organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, he also said that any state sponsorship must be exposed and must be countered. He said the exhibition is a modest yet resolute effort to give voice to those who can no longer speak. 'A tribute to those who were taken away from us. And a remembrance to lives shattered by the scourge of terrorism.' 'By our gathering, we express solidarity with the families and loved ones of the victims of terrorism. Their pain is a stark reminder of the urgency of our shared responsibility to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.''Today's exhibition is not merely a presentation of images, videos and testimonies. RJD creating false impression on Waqf Board Act for Muslim votes: BJP's Samrat Chaudhary
Patna, June 30 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary said today that the RJD was trying to create a false impression in order to get Muslim votes in the state assembly elections to be held in October-November this year. Chaudhary said that new Waqf Board Act was introduced for protecting the rights of poor Muslims but RJD was trying to mislead them to get minorities' votes in the Bihar assembly elections. "RJD has nothing to do with interests of Muslims and the party is only trying to get maximum votes from them in the upcoming assembly elections," he added. The Deputy Chief Minister said that RJD leaders had torn copies of the Women's Reservation Bill in parliament when the erstwhile Vajpayee government had placed it in the House. The Narendra Modi government had ultimately got it passed in both Houses of parliament, he pointed out. Chaudhary said that there was complete lawlessness in Bihar during the RJD regime and a large number of businessmen were forced to migrate to other states of the country. Even girls used to get frightened while going to college and people used to remain behind closed doors after sunset, he pointed out. "The Nitish Kumar government has given 50 percent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj institutions and 35 percent reservation in government services, making them empowered," the Deputy Chief Minister said, adding that the cycle and uniform schemes rolled out by the government helped in greater enrollment of students in schools.
