Spanish course to be announced as 2031 Ryder Cup host
Camiral Golf and Wellness Resort in Caldes de Malavella will host the 2031 matches, Ramon Nogue, president of the Catalan golf federation, confirmed to the Associated Press on Friday. The news was first reported by the Spanish outlet La Vanguardia.
An official announcement by Ryder Cup Europe is expected next week.
Camiral, which is located near Girona and just up the coast from Barcelona, was formerly known as PGA Catalunya, which has hosted past Spanish Opens on the DP World Tour.
This will be the second time Spain has hosted the biennial competition between the U.S. and Europe. Valderrama Golf Club in Andalucia hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup, marking the first time that the match was played in continental Europe.

Colton was a semifinalist last week at Trinity Forest, where Woods shot 81-74 to miss the match-play cut at his second straight U.S. Junior. Woods, a 2027 recruit who has yet to commit to a school, broke out this past May with a win at the AJGA's Team TaylorMade Invitational, which came against a field that included Colton, top-ranked Miles Russell and another top-50 amateur in Tyler Watts.

The Washington Road Hooters is one of a half-dozen of the company's Georgia locations to close following a bankruptcy filling in March. The chain's parent company filed for bankruptcy to address $376 million in debt and, according to a report from the Associated Press, 100 company-owned U.S. restaurants would be sold to a group of Hooters franchisees. A pre-recorded voice message at the Washington Road restaurant said, 'this location is permanently closed.' The Washington Road Hooters has been a Masters staple for decades with patrons and celebrities turning the restaurant into a sprawling party during the year's first major. John Daly has used the Hooters parking lot as his tournament headquarters and merchandise center, selling branded memorabilia out of his RV during the Masters. 'I relate to the fans,' Daly told in 2016 from his RV in the Hooters parking lot. 'You know I've made them happy and I've pissed them off a lot, but they've been good to me all over the world.'
