'Disrespected' Colorado gunman sentenced to more than 1,000 years in prison
A 39-year-old man who fired 28 rounds at a Greeley bar after he felt 'disrespected' by another patron was sentenced Friday to 1,016 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections. Efren Sanchez left the Rancho el Corazon establishment in August 13, 2022, and returned wearing a mask and armed with a rifle, according to investigators from the Greeley Police Department. Those detectives determined Efren discharged the weapon at 25 people gathered outside and inside the bar. CBS Two people suffered gunshot wounds. CBS Sanchez was convicted on 50 counts of attempted murder -- two counts for every person that was at the bar that night -- in April by a Weld County jury. "He shot bullet after bullet, causing panic and pain," Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael Pirraglia said during that trial's closing arguments. "These are innocent victims with forever reminders of the defendant's actions." CBS Friday, Weld County District Court Judge Vincente Vigil sentenced Sanchez to 48 years in state prison related to the two people who were injured. The woman explained that she's suffered from panic attacks since the shooting, and has no social life because of a fear of being killed. "There was no need to get anything close to this," Judge Vigil said at Sanchez's sentencing, as reported by the Greeley Tribune. "I'm shocked nobody died."

Police find 2 shot outside Millsboro-area home; a third man shot inside house dies
A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with a Millsboro-area shooting that left one teen dead and two others injured in the early hours of June 14. Marcus Harris has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder, Delaware State Police said. Harris was in a house located in the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive near Millsboro. Also in the house were a 19-year-old man and two other men. Harris and the teen were acquaintances of a woman who lives in the house. While in the house, police said, the teen got into an argument with the woman, who no longer wanted him or the other two men in the home. A fight began between Harris and the 19-year-old about 2 a.m., police said. It was during the fight that Harris shot the teen and the two other men. The woman was not injured during the shooting. Officers found two men outside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. The teen, who was inside the home, was provided first aid, but he died at the scene. The two other men were taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Harris was found inside the house and taken into custody without incident, police said. After being charged, Harris was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction after failing to post $480,000 cash bail. The Millsboro-area shooting was the second fatal one that morning in Kent County in which there were multiple victims. Five men were shot, one fatally, earlier that morning in Dover, police said. That shooting left a 22-year-old man dead. Woman dead, second victim seriously injured after shoot-out at Winston-Salem apartment complex
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman is dead and another is seriously hurt after a , according to police. At about 9:21 p.m. Friday, Winston-Salem police responded to a report of gunfire and a shooting victim on the 2400 block of Old Greensboro Road. At the scene, officers found 50-year-old Pariss Tucker Baines suffering from gunshot injuries. According to police, Baines was outside her apartment when she was shot. Bystanders carried her inside. She died at the scene. Another woman, who also had a gunshot wound, was found in a different apartment. Police say she was shot inside the apartment. The woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Officers believe that two groups of people were shooting at each other from across the parking lot. They believe the victims were not targeted. Police have not released any information regarding potential suspects.
