Scottie Scheffler kisses wife Meredith, hugs son Bennett in sweet moment after PGA Championship win

The world's No. 1 golfer hugged and kissed wife Meredith at Quail Hollow after winning his first PGA Championship, shooting a five-shot win in Sunday's final round and finished 11-under overall.

'I'm so proud of you,' an emotional Meredith could be heard saying on the broadcast, followed by 'I'm so happy, I love you so much.'
He also made sure to give his son, Bennett, a hug and Scheffler proceeded to carry his first child around the grounds long after clinching the win.
Scheffler, 28, entered Sunday atop the leaderboard at 11-under par after going on a tear in the third round, shooting a six-under 65 with birdies on the final two holes.

Sunday's victory marked Scheffler's first major win since he captured his second green jacket at the 2024 Masters.
Meredith was not in attendance for the post-tournament celebrations last April as she was preparing to give birth to Bennett.

Scheffler announced Bennett's birth on May 13, 2024 — days before his run at the 2024 PGA Championship came to a screeching halt when he was arrested due to a miscommunication about traffic flow before the second round at Valhalla Golf Club.

Upon being released from custody, Scheffler shot a five-under 66.
'I can't really explain what happened this morning. I did spend some time stretching in a jail cell. That was a first for me. That was part of my warmup,' Scheffler said at the time.
'… I was fortunate to be able to make it back out and play some golf today.'

He went on to finish the second major of the season in a tie for eighth.
Entering this year's PGA Championship, Scheffler had only won one event this season, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in early May.
He celebrated the victory in McKinney, Texas, with Bennett and Meredith, his wife of nearly five years.

Country star Jelly Roll confirms he's dropped 200 pounds and eyes another 50 more
Jelly Roll revealed that he has dropped 200 pounds as he continues his weight-loss journey. In a video shared on X by the Tennessee Titans, the 40-year-old country star shared his latest health milestone while giving a motivational speech to the NFL team. Advertisement The Nashville native is a lifelong Titans fan and the team's head coach, Brian Callahan, invited him to speak to the players at their training camp before they hit the road for their pre-season games. During his surprise appearance at a team meeting, Jelly Roll told the Titans 'I can't get on the field' but joked that he was getting 'close.' 'I lost 200 pounds. I told Coach I'm getting a contract if I lose another 50,' the 'Save Me' singer said to applause from the players and staff. A representative for Jelly Roll did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. In April, Jelly Roll revealed that he had shed 183 pounds during Pat McAfee's 'Big Night AHT' event. 'I started at 540 pounds. Jelly Roll continued, 'I think that people that become as big as I became, when they lose the weight, they're kind of ashamed. They're so ashamed that they go and hide and lose the weight, and then they come back out, and they don't really know how to interact with the world, looking different or feeling different, you know? And they kind of got to find their whole new way.' 'I wanted to lose it in front of everybody. I wanted to talk about it… This is constantly what I'm putting in the air because I want to bring people along with me.' He later told Bunnie, 'I wanna be on the cover of 'Men's Health' by March of 2026. That's my new goal. So I wanna have one of the biggest transformations.'

Warriors Receive Major Trade Update for the Future
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Golden State Warriors are nearing the end of their dynasty. While Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are still playing, with Curry still playing at an elite superstar level, time is passing quickly. Neither player is getting any younger. There is a chance that Curry and Green only have a couple of years left to play in the NBA. With that being said, the Warriors need to start building for the future while still trying to win now. Or, they could go all-in on winning now and bringing another championship home with Curry being the franchise face. Head coach Steve Kerr talks to Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors in the second quarter of Game One against the Minnesota Timberwolves during the Second Round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs at Target Center on May 06, 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. More Photo byKeeping that in mind, a new update has been given about Golden State that could help the team make a major trade at some point in the near future. Read more: Lakers Linked to Two Potential Trade Targets by ESPN Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report has named Golden State's 2028 first-round pick as one of the top trade assets currently in the NBA. He explained why he believes that in a recent article. "By the 2027-28 campaign, all that's left on the books will be the final year of Moses Moody's contract and a player option for Buddy Hield. This club could completely bottom out, and the chance of that happening locks this pick onto the list," Buckley wrote. That is a very interesting take, but one that makes a ton of sense. Teams could have high interest in that pick and be willing to part ways with one of their current win-now players in order to acquire it. Last season, the Warriors made the playoffs as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. They pulled off an upset over the No. 2-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round. Unfortunately, their season came to an end in the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Curry went down with a hamstring injury in Game 1. Golden State took that game, but lost the next four without its superstar point guard on the court. Read more: Celtics' Jaylen Brown's Shocking Pick for Toughest NBA Player to Guard Heading into the 2025-26 NBA season, Curry, Green, and Jimmy Butler will be the primary leaders for the Warriors. Jonathan Kuminga may or may not be back and there are some talented pieces throughout the roster. Perhaps Golden State could consider pursuing a big trade using that valuable 2028 first-round pick. Or, it's possible that the Warriors choose to hold onto it and use it themselves. For more on the Golden State Warriors and general NBA news, head on over to Newsweek Sports.

Justin Rose hunts Tommy Fleetwood's lead at FedEx St Jude Championship
Tommy Fleetwood will head into the final round of the FedEx St Jude Championship with a one-shot lead as he continues the hunt for his first Tour title. Fleetwood fired a one-under 69 in the third round, just edging out fellow Englishman Justin Rose. The tension between the two rose early in the round after Fleetwood double-bogeyed the third hole while Rose made birdie, a three-shot swing that dramatically cut into the 34-year-old's lead. Fleetwood responded well, rebuilding his lead to three shots. But his advantage narrowed again on the 18th hole, where a drive into the rough led to a bogey. World number one Scottie Scheffler also hurled himself into contention with six birdies, finishing Saturday two shots off the lead on 65. JJ Spaun and Andrew Novak are a shot further back, tied for fourth on 11 under par. Only the top 70 in the season-long FedEx rankings have qualified for the event, although Rory McIlroy opted not to play this week, with the top 50 after the tournament reaching next week's BMW Championship. The top 30 after that will contest the Tour Championship in pursuit of a 10million dollar (£7.4million) bonus.
