Reds place outfielder Fraley on injured list with left calf tenderness

HOUSTON (AP) — The Cincinnati Reds placed outfielder Jake Fraley on the 10-day injured list with left calf tenderness Saturday.
The move, which is retroactive to Wednesday, comes after he tried to return Friday night in the opener of a series against the Houston Astros but was scratched about an hour before the game.

Fraley is hitting .205 with three homers and nine RBIs in 28 games this season.
His is the latest in a string of injuries for the Reds, who placed right-hander Hunter Greene on the injured list with a groin strain Friday.
Utility player Connor Joe took his place on the roster a day after being traded from the San Diego Padres for minor league reliever Andrew Moore.

Despite having thrown just 15 innings through two seasons with Missouri baseball, dual athlete Sam Horn might have a shot to make the MLB. Advertisement Horn, a pitcher for the baseball team and a quarterback for the football team at Mizzou, was recently added to MLB's Top Draft Prospects, which ranks the top 200 players with draft eligibility. The Lawrenceville, Georgia product sits at No. 124 in the rankings. As a high school recruit, Horn finished as a top 200 recruit nationally in football and baseball (no. 161 by ESPN and No. 162 by Perfect Game, respectively). The 124th pick would land Horn in the second half of the fourth round, while the whole MLB Draft lasts 20 rounds. Horn through a high of 98 MPH this season while also having a slider in his arsenal that had batters lost in 2025. Horn pitched 10.2 innings this season while striking out 14 batters and allowing seven hits. Six of Horn's seven allowed hits came from Alabama through two outings. QBs Beau Pribula and Horn are still vying for the starting spot following spring workouts and according to Mizzou coach Eliah Drinkwitz. 'I told every quarterback that we will not be naming a starting QB coming out of spring,' Drinkwitz said in a press conference. 'It was clear to us after the first week and a half of spring, the competition is between (Pribula) and (Horn).' Most of these known athletes continued their careers in the NFL. These players are able to sign MLB contracts while maintaining college football eligibility. Whether he leans toward the mound or the pocket, Tigers fans and pro scouts will be watching closely to see which path Horn ultimately chooses. Missouri Tigers head coach Elijah Drinkwitz added another piece to his 2026 high school recruiting class on Monday when three-star tight end Isaac Jensen announced his commitment to the Tigers. Listed by 247Sports at 6'6" 230lbs, Jensen hails from Millard South High School just outside of Omaha, Nebraska, and he is no stranger to winning. Jensen is the second recruit from the group of prospects that visited Columbia last weekend to choose Mizzou, with Florida-based four-star wide receiver Jabari Brady announcing his commitment to the program on June 7th while still being on campus. This is no surprise, as the Tigers have a tight end room that tapers off once you get past junior starter Brett Norfleet, with no clear number two. The next uncommitted tight end set to venture to Columbia for an official visit is Kansas City product Kevin Sullivan on June 20th. Sullivan is set to visit with the Tigers last, after taking official visits to Kansas, Iowa State and Vanderbilt. It remains to be seen how Jensen's commitment will impact Missouri's pursuit of Sullivan, but his recruitment will be another one to watch for Mizzou fans. Monday's news brings the Tigers' 2026 high school class to four, with Jensen joining the aforementioned Jabari Brady along with four-star linebacker Keenan Harris and four-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar.
