Ireland Eurovision star Emmy's boyfriend, day job, famous brother and real name

Eurovision 2025 is finally here, with the second semi final featuring Ireland taking place tonight. A total of 37 countries will have taken to the stage in Basel, Switzerland ahead of the grand final on Saturday.
Ireland's representative this year is Norwegian singer Emmy, who will be flying the flag for Ireland with her song Laika Party. Written in collaboration with an Irish songwriter, the track helped her secure the win on RTE's Eurosong earlier this year.
The song is a tribute to Laika, the Soviet dog who in 1957 became the first mammal in space. The idea for the lyrics came after Emmy accidentally discovered her tragic story, prompting her to imagine an alternative fate in which the animal, instead of dying, experiences an endless party in space.
Emmy, who is no stranger to the limelight with a whopping 1.2 million followers on TikTok, promised a performance with "silver, space and a rocket!"
She said that stepping onto the Eurovision stage is like living out a "childhood dream that I never, ever thought would come true", adding that "my only two goals for Eurovision are to try my best and to make Ireland proud."
Ireland's Eurovision hopes are hanging by a thread, with Emmy odds-on at 4/6 to crash out in tonight's semi-final and just 11/10 to qualify - ranking behind 11 of the 15 nations competing for 10 final spots. Should we make it through, Ireland remains a 100/1 outsider to win the contest outright, according to Gambling Industry News.
Last year, Ireland finished in sixth place with an eye-catching performance by Bambie Thug and their song Doomsday Blue.
Emmy is not just any 24 year old singer-songwriter - she hails from Sande, a quaint village not far from Norway's capital Oslo. She goes by Emmy Kristine Guttulsrud Kristiansen offstage.
Emmy first grabbed headlines in 2015, when she was just 14, on the junior music show known as Melodi Grand Prix Junior. In 2021, she took part in the Melodi Grand Prix - Norway's gateway to the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
She blitzed into the final but didn't manage to clinch a spot in the ultimate showdown, the gold final.
Not only does Emmy shine on stage, but in her other role as a freelance graphic designer.
She has also put a bit of her time into Norway's jury for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Her stint as a juror offered invaluable perspective as she played a part in picking out the acts and tunes for the famed contest.
She went on to post on social media and has since become well-known for singing on TikTok, growing a profile with 1.2 million followers.
Emmy has been pictured with her boyfriend of seven years, Tommy Kittelsen, ahead of the semi-final.
She opened up about how Tommy has been a massive support to her as she prepares for the competition, telling RSVP Live: "Tommy works in finance in Norway. He was watching Eurosong at home and he was so excited, telling all of his friends that I got through."
Tommy has travelled Basel and will be in the crowd to watch Emmy perform tonight, and she thinks she will be less nervous as a result. She said: "It's like bringing some of home with me. He's very good at calming me down after a long day."
However, she revealed that her parents will miss her performance, as they've stayed at home to look after her pet cat Suzy. Emmy told Newstalk: "My parents are at home watching the kitten because my boyfriend joined me here. Someone had to watch the kitten. She is called Suzy. We've had her for five months now. She is adorable and I miss her so much".
Emmy's older brother, Erlend Guttulsrud Kristiansen, is one of the songwriters credited on Laika Party and joins her on stage as her robotic keyboard player.
He is no stranger to the spotlight himself - back in 2011, he took part in the Melodi Grand Prix Junior contest.
Erlend's portfolio includes penning tracks like Scars for Fake Eclipse and lending his vocals to the band's song Without You.
The first Eurovision semi-final airs on BBC One at 8pm on May 13. Fans outside of the UK can watch via the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.

A cleanser is crucial for healthy skin as it removes dirt, oil, and other impurities for flawless skin. This skincare step not only cleanses the face and removes dirt, but also prevents breakouts and premature skin ageing, helping you maintain a healthy, youthful, and blemish-free complexion. The SPF is non-negotiable and should be in everyone's daily skincare routine. Even on cooler, cloudier days, our skin is exposed to the sun's UV rays which can be harmful to unprotected skin and even lead to damage. These damages include sunburn, pigmentation changes, and wrinkles which can impact the skin's texture and appearance. In some cases, prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer. Applying SPF daily prevents these damages and protects the skin from harmful rays. I recommend the Hair oil has many benefits and should be regularly used. My parents transformed their council estate garden into a paradise, folk say it should be in the Chelsea Flower Show

They've got a lot of pride in their garden." And once she showed viewers around it was clear to see why. The incredible garden had been landscaped to feature more summery plants at the front, where the sun hits and more tropical plants at the back of the garden that get more shade. READ MORE ON HOMES The avid gardeners had also created a beautiful cobblestone pathway leading up the narrow garden and its beautiful rose archway. Her dad had also made his own garden fence to tie in with the countryside aesthetic, using small branches to create a woodland feel. And that wasn't even the most impressive DIY in the garden. The pair had a shed in the back of the garden but didn't like the modern look of it so they decided to turn it into a countryside cottage. Most read in Fabulous Using old bits of palette to create a new door, her dad also used branches to create new walls for the cottage and even a thatched roof. Next to the impressive building was a small waterfall they had made from scratch, along with some steps where they could sit and peacefully listen to the water come crashing down. I transformed my council house hallway for under £60 - the old laminate has vanished but critics say it 'looks cheap' Chelsea added: "They're no gardeners but they've made it from nothing, from absolutely nothing." "You'd never know from the front of the house. You'd never know that this is behind." The incredible garden and its variety of plants had left viewers starstruck. The clip quickly went viral on her TikTok account @ One person wrote: "Amazing garden, looks like it should be in the Chelsea Flower Show- If I had the money I would 100% pay for someone to make me this magical fairytale garden. Love it." 8 must-have plants to brighten up your garden Nick Hamilton owner of Tricyrtis A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is 'as tough as old boots!'. Penstemon I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They'll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes. Luzula sylvatica 'Marginata' With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it's great asset is that it will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill - dry shade. Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue' A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant's interest period. Sarcococca hookeriana 'Winter Gem' If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers. Cornus sanguinea 'Anny's Winter Orange' A dwarf version of 'Midwinter Fire' the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days. Rosa 'Noisette Carnee' A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, 'noisette' flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November. Sanguisorba hakusanensis 'Lilac Squirrel' I've never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade. Another commented: 'I'm actually aghast at the level of work and love and time that's gone into this - are they landscapers or something? The Fern Cave? The cottage? Are you joking me?!" "'Here's a little garden my mum and dad did'. Proceeds to show a fairytale garden, a thatched roof cottage and mini waterfall," penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "It's like a real life fairy garden! Love it." "Chelsea Flower Show has nothing on this garden!' claimed a fifth. Someone else added: 'This is actually beautiful, your parents are so talented for creating this. From the flowers to the shed to everything in between… it's incredible, a true paradise."
