Husband of South Korean heiress took part in US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites
Kevin Liu Huang, the husband of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won's second daughter, Choi Min-jung, is serving with the US Combined Special Operations Joint Task Force – Central (CSOJTF-C) in the Middle East and is reported to have taken part in a recent Israeli
air strike operation against Iran
In a LinkedIn post shared earlier this week, Huang wrote: 'I thought deploying to the Middle East with a joint task force headquarters would be 'sleepy' vs working in Ukraine or IndoPacom.'
He added that he never imagined witnessing during his deployment 'the fall of the Assad regime, the Houthis' capitulation to our bombing campaigns, or joining the Israelis in directly bombing Iran'.
Based on his post, Huang is believed to have taken part in multiple key military operations, including the
collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria last December and a bombing campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen that recently ended in a ceasefire deal.
Most notably, he reportedly took part in the US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities on Sunday, which involved B-2 stealth bombers and Tomahawk missiles. According to his LinkedIn page, he assumed his role as operations officer for the Special Operations Joint Task Force – Central, Special Operations Command Centcom in November 2024.
Considering that he married South Korea's Choi in October last year at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul, it appears he was deployed to the Middle East shortly after the wedding. The CSOJTF-C oversees integrated special operations across the Middle East and conducts counterterrorism and joint missions with allied forces, including Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Iran's supreme leader says Trump ‘exaggerated' impact of US strikes on nuclear sites
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday said US President Donald Trump 'exaggerated' the impact of US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, in his first appearance since a ceasefire in the war with Israel took hold. In a statement and a televised speech carried by state media, he hailed his country's 'victory' over Israel and vowed never to surrender to the United States, while claiming that Washington had been dealt a 'slap' after striking Iranian nuclear sites. Khamenei's remarks come two days after a ceasefire ended a 12-day war between Iran and Israel, the foes' deadliest and most destructive confrontation in history. It also follows a stinging row in the United States over the actual extent of the damage inflicted by American strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites during the conflict. 'The American president exaggerated events in unusual ways, and it turned out that he needed this exaggeration,' Khamenei said. A screengrab of Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressing the nation. Iran's supreme leader makes first public statement since Israel-Iran ceasefire
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned on Thursday that the US 'will definitely pay a heavy price' should it attack Iran again. Advertisement The comments came in the wake of an attack on Sunday in which American forces hit three Iranian nuclear facilities with bunker-buster bombs and cruise missiles. Iran retaliated on Monday with a missile attack on a US base in nearby Qatar, but caused no casualties. In an apparent reference to the attack, Khamenei says 'such an action can be repeated in the future, too', saying that Iran has 'access to key US centres in the region and can take action whenever it deems necessary'. 'Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price,' he said. Advertisement Khamenei also claimed victory over Israel and said his country had 'delivered a hand slap to America's face' on Thursday, in his first public comments since a ceasefire was declared in the war between the two countries.
