Milestone Positions Canada as Major Exporter of Liquefied Natural Gas
IRVING, Texas & CALGARY, Alberta, July 01, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that LNG Canada has successfully shipped the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) export cargo from its newly-constructed facility located in the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada. Since 2018, Fluor, and its joint venture partner, JGC Corporation, have provided critical engineering, procurement, fabrication management, construction and commissioning services to build the facility and support its safe startup.
"This is a significant achievement in Canada's energy landscape and a pivotal moment for Fluor," said Mike Alexander, Fluor's Business Group President of Energy Solutions. "First cargo marks the culmination of years of collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to project delivery excellence between LNG Canada, JGC and Fluor. We are honored to have played such a critical role in delivering the first phase of this world-class LNG facility – safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality. This milestone reinforces Fluor's global leadership in delivering complex energy projects."
Located on Canada's west coast, the LNG Canada facility benefits from access to abundant, low-cost natural gas and an ice-free harbor. The plant is the first-of-its-kind in Canada with an annual production capacity of up to 14 million tonnes of LNG. It positions Canada as a major supplier of lower carbon natural gas to global markets and will operate under a 40-year license.
"This facility establishes the global benchmark for responsible LNG development," said Pierre Bechelany, President of Fluor's LNG & Power business. "Its design enables LNG Canada to produce LNG with some of the lowest emissions of any large-scale LNG facility in the world."
JGC Fluor used an innovative modular fabrication approach to achieve significant schedule efficiencies by allowing site preparation, early works and construction to occur at the same time as the module fabrication off-site. More than 215 modules were delivered and set into place at the site from January 2022 to July 2023. The largest modules measured approximately 45 meters wide, 75 meters deep and 47 meters in height. The project also included the construction of the second largest LNG storage tank in the world, standing 56 meters high and 75 meters in diameter with a volume of more than 225,000 cubic meters.
"Congratulations to our project team and the more than 35,000 workers who helped build the first phase of this facility meeting some of the world's most stringent standards for safety, sustainability and environmental protection," said James Ticer, Fluor Senior Vice President and Project Director for the LNG Canada Project. "Fluor's commitment to local economic development and Indigenous community participation was a vital component of the project. JGC Fluor and our subcontractors spent a total of CAD 3.3 billion on goods and services contracted with Indigenous businesses and joint ventures, and nearly $200 million with local area businesses."
LNG Canada is a joint venture between Shell, Petronas, Mitsubishi Corporation, PetroChina and KOGAS. JGC Fluor's involvement in the LNG Canada Project continues through commissioning support and long-term operational readiness services.
Fluor's strong presence in Canada spans more than 75 years, safely delivering engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction services to some of the country's largest oil, gas, petrochemical, mining, power and infrastructure projects.

CD&R joins race for BP's $8 billion Castrol unit, Sky News reports

-- Private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice has entered the competition to acquire Castrol, BP (NYSE:BP)'s lubricant business valued at approximately $8 billion, according to Sky News, citing sources familiar with the matter. The firm joins several other bidders in the auction for the BP unit, including Apollo Global Management (NYSE:APO), Lone Star Funds, and India's Reliance Industries (NSE:RELI), whose involvement Bloomberg News previously reported. CD&R's bid adds an interesting dimension to the sale process due to its connection with BP's leadership. Helge Lund, the current chairman of BP's board who is scheduled to step down within the next 12 months, serves as an operating advisor to CD&R. Sources close to the matter have indicated to Sky News that Lund is not participating in CD&R's offer for the Castrol division. The Castrol divestiture is part of BP's broader strategy to streamline its portfolio and unlock capital amid growing pressure from activist investor Elliott Investment Management. Elliott's involvement comes at a pivotal moment, as BP has reversed parts of its earlier shift toward renewables and renewed its focus on oil and gas. Representatives from BP and CD&R have yet to respond to request for comment. BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust Announces No Unit Payment for the Second Quarter of 2025 and Update on NYSE Delisting

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE: BPT) announced that Unit holders of record on July 15, 2025 will not receive a dividend payment for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. As provided in the Trust Agreement, a quarterly royalty payment by Hilcorp North Slope, LLC to the Trust is the sum of the individual revenues attributed to the Trust as calculated each day during the quarter. The amount of revenue is determined by multiplying Royalty Production for each day in the calendar quarter by the Per Barrel Royalty for that day. Pursuant to the Trust Agreement, the Per Barrel Royalty for any day is the WTI Price for the day less the sum of (i) Chargeable Costs multiplied by the Cost Adjustment Factor and (ii) Production Taxes. For the three months ended June 30, 2025, the Per Barrel Royalty was calculated based on the following information: The average daily closing WTI price was below the 'break-even' price for the quarter, resulting in a negative value for the payment calculation for the quarter. However, as provided in the Trust Agreement, the payment with respect to the Royalty Interest for any calendar quarter may not be less than zero. As previously disclosed, the Trust terminated at 11:59 PM on December 31, 2024, and The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A., as trustee (the 'Trustee'), has commenced the process of winding up the affairs of the Trust. The Trustee cannot predict when the wind-up of the Trust will be completed. Delisting from NYSE The Trust also announced that on June 30, 2025, it had received notification from the New York Stock Exchange ('NYSE') of its determination to suspend trading of the Trust's units of beneficial interest (the 'Units'), effective as of the close of trading on June 30, 2025, and to initiate proceedings to delist the Units. The determination to commence the delisting proceeding results from the Trust's inability to satisfy the continued listing compliance standards set forth under Rule 802.01C of the NYSE Listed Company Manual because the average closing price of the Units fell below $1.00 over a 30 consecutive trading-day period that ended on December 30, 2024, and the Trust was unable to regain compliance with the applicable standards within a cure period that concluded on June 30, 2025. As a result of the suspension, the Units began trading on July 1, 2025, under the symbol 'BPPTU' on the Pink Limited Market ('OTC Pink'), which is operated by OTC Markets Group, Inc. To be quoted on OTC Pink, a market maker must sponsor the security and comply with SEC Rule 15c2-11 before it can initiate a quote in a specific security. OTC Pink is a significantly more limited market than the NYSE, and the quotation of the Units on OTC Pink may result in a less liquid market available for existing and potential unitholders and could further depress the trading price of the Units. There is no assurance that an active market in the Units will develop on OTC Pink. FORWARD LOOKING STATEMENTS This press release contains forward-looking statements within the meaning of Section 27A of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended. Forward-looking statements in this press release are subject to a number of risks and uncertainties beyond the control of the Trust. These forward-looking statements include the Trust's expectations regarding the timing of the transition of the quotation of the Units to OTC Pink, expectations regarding the trading of the Units on OTC Pink and the Trust asset sale process. Descriptions of some of the risks that could affect the future performance of the Trust appear in the Trust's Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2024, the Trust's subsequent Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, and the Trust's other filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the 'SEC'). The Trust's annual, quarterly and other filed reports are or will be available over the Internet at the SEC's website at The Trustee undertakes no obligation to update forward-looking statements after the date of this report, except as required by law, and all such forward-looking statements in this report are qualified in their entirety by the preceding cautionary statements.
