Fresh leak reiterates significant performance boost for Snapdragon 8 Elite 2
Qualcomm's next flagship chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, is still a few months away probably, but its benchmark scores have already appeared online. Based on these scores, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will offer consistent improvements across the board.
Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station 'confirmed' that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will indeed provide a significant boost in performance compared to the previous generation of Qualcomm's flagship chipsets. According to DCS, Qualcomm plans to implement major upgrades in both CPU and GPU performance. The company's self-developed Oryon CPU architecture provides a nearly 30 percent performance boost, while the multi-core and GPU (graphics processing units) upgrades are also very noticeable. Based on previous reports, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to feature a 2+6 architecture with the highest CPU running at up to 5GHz, while other cores will have a base frequency of 4.4GHz. Qualcomm's upcoming chipset will be build using TSMC's third-generation 3nm process.Qualcomm's hasn't yet confirmed when the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be announced, but the US chip maker will kick off the 2025 Snapdragon Summit on September 23, so we expect its flagship chipset to be unveiled during the event.

The same Digital Chat Station revealed earlier today that MediaTek's flagship chipset will arrive before Qualcomm's, although they didn't offer any timeframes.Either way, it's clear that we'll have multiple flagships coming out in the second half of the year rocking both companies' flagship chipsets. We already know that Xiaomi 16 is likely to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, while phones like Oppo Find X9 and Vivo X300 will embrace MediaTek's new flagship chip, the Dimensity 9500.

Unboxing Unboxing the GT 30 Pro can be a vastly different experience depending on which version and bundle you get. The GT 30 Pro itself comes in a rugged and very "gaming-styled" two-piece cardboard box. The packaging is not entirely eco-friendly since it contains plenty of plastic, but on the plus side, it provides ample protection for the goods inside. The contents of the base retail package include an Infinix-branded 45W charger. It uses a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, which surprisingly appears to be standard, without any extra pins which means the phone is using regular USB-PD for fast charging. Also in the box is a nice and thick, yet soft, semi-transparent TPU case for the phone. Optionally, you can get the GT 30 Pro in a richer bundle complete with what Infinix calls the "GT Pro Gaming Kit". It includes an additional hard plastic case with cutouts for the phone's RGB strips on the back and a large magnetic area in the middle. The "MAGCASE", as Infinix calls it, is compatible with the "MAGCHARGE COOLER" - the other thing that comes in the Pro Gaming Kit. It is a magnetic round peltier cooler attachment that sits on the back of the phone. The MAGCHARGE COOLER (model XG03Pro) takes its power through a Type-C port and should easily be compatible with other phones, as long as you have a magnetic or metal surface to stick it on. iPhones with their MagSafe backs, for instance, are a perfect match. New leak claims Dimensity 9500 matches Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in terms of performance
Qualcomm and MediaTek are almost toe to toe when it comes to flagship chipset. Both chip makers are trying to create extremely powerful, yet very efficient, smartphone chipsets, in an attempt to gain from each other's market just a few months away from the release of Qualcomm's flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, but rumor has it MediaTek is going to launch its own top-tier chip, Dimensity 9500, slightly this doesn't really matter for handset makers, which made plans about their device long before MediaTek and Qualcomm decided when to reveal their chipsets, it does matter for customers, especially if one of the two chipsets is more powerful than the other. According to the latest reports, that doesn't seem to be the case though. After revealing the benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 just a few days ago, reputable leaker Digital Chat Station is back with yet another juicy piece of information, MediaTek Dimensity 9500's benchmark scores. Judging from the numbers, MediaTek managed to beef up its flagship chipset just as much Qualcomm. The Dimensity 9500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 have nearly similar scores, so it will probably a matter of taste when it comes to choosing which phone you want. The chipset's architecture consists of 1 Travis core, 3 Alto cores, and 4 Gelas cores. The first two are based on Arm Cortex-X9 cores, while the latter is based on Arm's Cortex-A7. In comparison, MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 chipset uses Cortex-X4 cores instead, so this is one of the reasons that the upcoming Dimensity 9500 will be a lot more powerful. The first phones to use MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset could be the Oppo Find X9 and Vivo X300. We have yet to learn when exactly MediaTek plans to announce its new chipset, but we do know Qualcomm's will make the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 official on (or around) September 23.
