Mike Tindall has an adorable nickname for wife Zara Tindall that royal fans are just spotting. The daughter of Princess Anne turns 44 today (Thursday, May 15) and will likely be celebrating with her former rugby pro husband.
Now, fans of the pair have come across a YouTube video in which the retired sportsman revealed the unusual word he has 'always' used to describe his wife, but it's not your normal romantic nickname. At the start of an episode of Mike Tindall's Mike Drop for Magic Millions released in 2023, Mike asked his wife whether she was excited to appear on his podcast, to which she jokingly responded no.
"You know how in depth it'll be," he said. "You'll be scraping through the layers.
"I've always described you as an onion," he added. "Lots of layers, so we'll try and peel back a few today, shall we?"
It comes after Zara, the daughter of Princess Anne, spoke out about 'struggles' within the Royal Family.
Speaking at a London Sporting Club lunch last week, she said, as reported in The Sun: "It is very hard to see from the outside but, 100 per cent, it is a family that is still going through the same struggles other people do.
"Whether they are relationships, obviously it is very easy to see every day. We're still very supportive of each other."
Zara, who is 22nd in line for the throne, previously opened up about how she couldn't see her uncle be crowned on his coronation day back in 2023.
"I did not see it actually, where I was sat. He was around the corner. I could not see." She laughed when asked if she had had to watch the coronation from the 'cheap seats.'
Mike and Zara tied the knot in 2011, having met eight years prior. The couple wed at the Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, in a ceremony attended by around 400 people.
Zara wowed in an off-the-rack ivory silk dress designed by Stewart Parvin. A reception was held at Hollyrood Palace following the nuptials.
The pair share three children – Mia Grace Tindall, 11, Lena Elizabeth Tindall, six, and Lucas Philip Tindall, four.
Commenting on the video, fans were thrilled by Mike and Zara's flirty rapport years into their marriage.
"You both compliment each other beautifully," one wrote. "[The Royal Family] is thriving with all these powerful Royal couples, making a huge difference to inspire future generations in this crazy world with live in."
"Brilliant interview. Such a deep love they share. Thank you," said another."
Meanwhile a third chimed in: "Great interview! Informative, fun and I really like your chemistry as just honest hard working committed people! Well done!"
