Govt withdraws compulsory leave imposed on IPS officer
Prior to this new role, he served as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation. 'The order of compulsory leave with respect to Dr K Ramachandra Rao, IPS (KN 1993) is hereby withdrawn and the officer is posted with immediate effect and until further orders as Director General of Police, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement in the upgraded vacant post,' a government order said.
The post of Director General of Police, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement is declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Director General of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Special Units & Economic offences, Bengaluru under Rule 12 of IPS (Pay) Rules 2016 as included in Schedule Il of the said rule, it said. Rao was sent on compulsory leave in March.

Independence Day celebrations held in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri
Independence Day celebrations were marked with pomp and gaiety here at the district stadium complex on Friday. The air was rent with patriotic fervour as the tricolour was unfurled to the rendition of the national anthem. Collector C. Dinesh Kumar hoisted the national flag in the presence of Superintendent of Police P. Thangadurai and accepted the guard of honour. Tirupati's Gross Development Product to rise by 16.69%: Anam Ramanarayana Reddy
Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Friday (August 15) said Tirupati district's Gross Development Product (GDP) is estimated to rise by 16.69%. from the present ₹91,478 crore to ₹1,69,633 crore. Addressing the public after hoisting the National Flag on the occasion of Independence Day here along with District Collector S. Venkateswar, Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju and legislators, he said the average individual income is projected to touch ₹6,01,297 by the end of 2028-29, and plans are afoot to achieve the same by drafting vision plans at constituency and mandal levels. The Minister said the NDA government has fulfilled its 'Super Six' promises made ahead of the elections. Tableaux bag prizes The tableau presented by the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) bagged the first prize. The tableau jointly presented by the DRDA and MEPMA bagged the second prize, while the Agriculture department's tableau came third. A special jury award was presented to Panchayat Department and APSPDCL for their presentation on 'Swarna Naravaripalle'. Similarly, the stalls set up by Animal Husbandry, DWMA and ICDS respectively bagged the first, second and third prizes.

Patriotic fervour marks ID celebrations
Impressive march pasts and cultural programmes marked Independence Day celebrations in Kurnool, Anantapur and Nandyal district. Participating in the event at the Police Parade Grounds in Anantapur, Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav said the government was working hard to fulfil the aspirations of the people by giving equal importance to development and welfare. On the occasion, he recalled the contribution of many leaders for the country's Independence. He also listed the various government programmes. Anantapur and Hindupur MPs Ambica Lakshminarayana and B.K. Pardhasaradhi respectively and in-charge District Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma also participated. In Nandyal, Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy hoisted the National Flag at an event organised at the PSC&KVSC Government Degree College Grounds in the town in the presence of District Collector Rajakumari Gania and Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana. Addressing a gathering of students and people, Mr. Janardhan Reddy hailed leaders like Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, 'Andhra Tilak' Gadicherla Hari Sarvottama Rao and others who have contributed for freedom fight. The National Flag was hoisted at all the government offices, district police unit offices and government institutions and universities on the occasion.
