FRONTLINE, Press Herald documentary nominated for 2 Emmy awards
The one-hour film, titled "Breakdown in Maine," was part of a joint project between the publications to investigate possible interventions by police, military and mental health care in the lead-up to the mass shooting in Lewiston, which killed 18 people and injured 13 in October 2023. The stories and documentary were supported through FRONTLINE's Local Journalism Initiative.
Nearly 1,000 TV, digital media and documentary professionals judged more than 2,200 submissions of programming content to decide this year's nominees. The film is one of five nominations in the "outstanding crime and justice coverage" category. It was also chosen as one of seven nominees in the news section for "outstanding research."
The winners of the 46th annual awards presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will be announced on June 25 and June 26 at the News Night and Documentary Night ceremonies, which start at 7 p.m. at the Palladium Times Square in Manhattan.

The pricey pieces managed to dethrone Ross' previous auction high-water mark, set at $55,000 on July 25 for the sale of another landscape, 'Snow-capped barn and trees behind a post and wire fence,' at Eldred's Auction Gallery in Dennis, Massachusetts. Bonhams On the instructional series, which aired over 400 episodes from 1983 to 1994, the Florida native, who had a net worth of $1 million, taught viewers the art of landscape painting. The paintings he created for the show are owned by Bob Ross Inc., and rarely hit the auction block, as per Barnebys. 3 Ross, who died in 1995 at the age of 52, became a household name for hosting the PBS series 'The Joy of Painting.' Over the last year, only seven have been purchased at auction for between $30,000 and $55,000, according to Artnet. The most recent ones — which were owned by private collectors in Florida and then passed down to other sellers — mark a milestone for Ross as the first that have gotten close to or exceeded $100,000.

It's the end of the road for New York's iconic fictional fashionista, Carrie Bradshaw. The 'Sex and the City' spinoff series 'And Just Like That' ended after three seasons on Thursday night — concluding the franchise starring Sarah Jessica Parker, which first premiered on HBO in 1998.
