Brown's Beach House
The resort's signature restaurant, Brown's Beach House, showcases island-inspired cuisine and spectacular sweeping ocean views — especially at sunset. The seafood-centric menus include 3- and 4-course options, as well as a la carte dishes like Kona prawns, local mahi mahi, and ti leaf-wrapped kanpachi with sweet potato, tiger shrimp, and bok choy in a coconut-orchid honey sauce.
Binchotan Bar & Grill celebrates the confluence of Hawaiian and Japanese cuisines with craft cocktails, plus seafood, wagyu beef, and seasonal vegetables kissed by the flames of traditional-style robatayaki grills.

The resort also offers guests several more casual options located throughout the extensive property. Orchid Court is the spot for breakfast and Hale Kai serves up more casual eats and cocktails under its thatched-roof huts. Kahakai Bar specializes in handmade tropical cocktails and small plates, and the popular Brown's Deli is the perfect grab-and-go option for iced coffees and matcha, morning pastries, and gourmet snacks.

The Spa Without Walls menu includes Hawaiian-inspired facials, scalp and foot massages, and the signature lomi-lomi massage, which uses rhythmic massage strokes to help restore one's mana (energy).
For guests who may have spent too much time basking in the sun without enough SPF, there's also the After Sun Soother, which uses a soothing gel mask made with active marine ingredients to help soothe and rehydrate the skin.

Fairmont Orchid champions sustainability by eliminating single-use plastics like water bottles, straws, and individual bathroom amenities. Each guest room comes with two reusable water bottles, and refill stations are located on every floor.
Every week, guests can join the Botanical Bees & Chef's Garden Tour to learn about produce grown on-site and the 80,000 bees that produce a delicious monofloral kiawe honey that is featured on the resort's menus.

Adam Sandler is back on the green for Happy Gilmore 2 — and Travis Kelce is keeping him on his toes. Sandler, 58, along with costars Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, appeared during Netflix's 2025 Tudum special on Saturday, May 31, to field some questions about the upcoming sequel and reveal the movie's full length trailer. "Happy Gilmore sucks now?" a fellow golfer asks in amazement in the opening moments of the teaser as he watches the once-prolific golfer (Sandler) fall on his face while trying to swing a club. "Eat a back of d**ks!" Sandler replies in typical Happy fashion. The trailer reveals that years after becoming a legend on the green, Happy has stopped playing golf and has seemingly lost his touch. When his daughter (played by Sandler's real life daughter Sadie) wants to attend ballet school, Happy and his wife, Virginia (Bowen), realize the only way they'll be able to afford her dreams is if Happy returns to the game he thought he left behind. "You stole my life from me," Scooter says. "Why would I want to steal the life of someone who eats pieces of s*** for breakast?" Happy replies before the two square off in a graveyard. Elsewhere in the trailer, Kelce makes an appearance as a hotel worker who gives Bad Bunny a good old fashioned scare. "BOO!" Kelce yells in Happy's face, causing him to yelp in fear. Netflix announced in May 2024 that plans for a sequel were in the works. The original 1996 film follows Happy as he discovers his natural talent for golf after an unsuccessful career as an ice hockey player. After entering a golf tournament hoping to win money to save his grandmother's house from foreclosure, a trick shot wins him the championship, the girl — and his grandma's home back. A teaser trailer in March revealed that Happy Gilmore 2 would pick up with Happy as a dad and husband — and someone who thought golf was in the rearview mirror. 'We're not done with golf,' Bowen's Virginia tells Happy as they seemingly move out of their current home. 'Let them see the Happy I fell in love with.' The teaser also confirmed that Kelce would have a role in the film as what seems to be a hotel worker welcoming Happy back to his old stomping grounds. 'The whole thing was to get to hang out with Travis. That's why we put it together,' Sandler joked during an August 2024 episode of Kelce's 'New Heights' podcast. 'We're going there [to New Jersey]. Travis, by the way, thank you, I heard you talking about [Happy Gilmore 2] on your show, you guys.' Sandler confessed he had initially a special role in mind for the NFL star, but they ultimately decided not to pursue that direction. 'We were talking about you playing my son while we were writing it, literally, like, six months ago,' Sandler continued. 'We were like, imagine if Travis was my first baby, how funny that would be. Just a badass.' Last May, my father-in-law showed up at my house with a child-size drum set in his trunk. That might make some parents shudder, but I was thrilled. I was a drummer when I was younger, with a set just like this one, and now my 7-year-old son could follow in my footsteps. I've learned two things in the year since. First, you can't force your kids to like the things you like; my son has probably played those drums for 15 minutes total. More important, though, I learned that I wasn't a former drummer. I'm still a drummer. Even though I hadn't engaged that part of my brain in years, my trips downstairs to do laundry now usually include a few minutes bashing on that little drum set. I'm not making beautiful music — just ask my neighbors — but I'm having a great time. Every little session leaves me feeling energized. That spark of creativity is something my colleagues at Well, The Times's personal health and wellness section, think everyone could use more of. Starting tomorrow, they've got a five-day challenge that aims to help readers nurture their creative side. I spoke with Elizabeth Passarella, the writer behind the project, to learn more. After years away from the drums, I've been shocked by how good it feels to make music. Why is that? What you feel is what many of us feel when we do something creative: giddy and inspired. Whether you do something more traditionally creative, like draw or play music, or riff on a recipe because you were out of an ingredient, it gives you a little boost. And there is plenty of research that links creativity to happiness and better moods. Some people reading this are gifted painters and musicians, I'm sure. But others would probably say that they don't have much artistic talent. What would you say to them? You are all creative in some way. There's a definition of creativity that researchers use: generating something novel that is also useful. That could be the score to a movie. Getting sober while my kids are teenagers is the best parenting decision I've made. I get to be fully present for them.

I stopped drinking about a year and a half ago. It's been a game changer in my relationship with my two teenagers. Being a sober parent shows my kids that we can do hard things without turning to alcohol to cope. I've done a lot of things right while parenting my kids, but I've also made plenty of mistakes. My "babies" are 17 and 15 now, and my greatest parenting achievement just might be that I've always been open with them about my mess-ups. Yelling when I shouldn't have, looking at my phone too much, taking their dad (my husband) for granted — these things all make the list. No parent is perfect, and over the years, I've apologized when necessary and made lots of changes to my parenting style. Still, if there's one regret I still have and one thing I'm glad I course-corrected in my parenting journey, it's my relationship with alcohol. I started drinking in high school and maintained a pretty run-of-the-mill relationship with alcohol throughout college and my 20s. At 28 (and again at 30), I had a baby, and, like so many moms, I turned to my nightly glass (or bottle) of wine to cope with the stress of having two little ones. Surrounded by messages like "rosé all day" and "mommy needs wine," I felt like I was part of a special club that knew the secret to relaxing after a long day of parenting. By the time my kids neared middle school, every part of parenthood felt tied to alcohol, from making sure there was a cooler of beers for the parents at my kids' birthday parties to taking ride shares to "moms' night out" activities because we knew we'd all be drinking. I was sober-curious long before I stopped drinking completely. I knew alcohol was creating problems in my life, like strained friendships, increased anxiety, and spending too much on tipsy, late-night, online shopping splurges. After years of reading quit-lit, listening to sobriety podcasts, and analyzing my relationships with alcohol with friends, I woke up one morning (with a hangover) and decided to stop drinking completely. It's been nearly 600 days since I've had a drink, and I've never looked back. Alcohol disgusts me now, and thoughts of my drinking days fill me with shame. There are plenty of reasons I'll never drink again — one of the biggest being my kids. Since I quit drinking, my daughter went through a tough break-up, and my son was diagnosed with ADHD and autism. There were thousands of smaller moments where my kids needed me to be of sound mind to offer them advice: whether to quit a part-time job, how to handle a disappointing theater audition, and what to say to a close friend during an argument. I'm so glad I was fully present without a wine buzz, so they could trust and confide in me. There have been happy moments, too, that I'll always be grateful I was sober to experience. We've traveled, celebrated holidays, and made beautiful memories together that I'll remember so much more clearly. Like all of my parenting mess-ups, I've spoken candidly with my teens about my choice to live an alcohol-free lifestyle, sharing everything from cautionary, embarrassing drinking stories to insights from my therapy sessions, and how much more manageable things like anxiety and depression feel. Not only are they proud, but they've told me they're also taking notes on how sobriety has led to my improving my physical and mental health and forging deeper, more intentional friendships. My sobriety is allowing me to model to my teenagers that alcohol isn't a necessity to have fun, be social, or make friends. They're seeing in me an example of what it's like to do hard things and not only succeed, but thrive. Most of all, my kids are seeing that mommy doesn't need to drink just because they exist, a message the media sends kids that sends shivers up and down my spine. Because I choose not to drink, my kids see that stress and tough times are normal parts of life, and that the best way to handle them is to be present and work through them, not numb out with a drink.
