I'm feeling good and I just want to get back to how I was feeling two years ago."It is really underestimated how tough it is mentally. Last time, I had a good run of games and something happens out of nowhere. It has been a tough road back with so many ups and downs. I am just appreciative to be back on the pitch and play football again."We all believe we can do it [in the Premier League] and everyone is looking forward to it. We have a really strong team which we are improving in the off-season. We are going to do what we can to stay up and compete. We are all looking forward to the challenge."Listen in full

Benjamin Sesko responds to Man Utd interest as striker reveals transfer preference

Manchester United are very keen to add a new striker to their squad this summer with RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko emerging as a candidate for the Red Devils Manchester United's chances of signing Benjamin Sesko have been handed a huge boost with the forward left 'impressed' by the Red Devils. Ruben Amorim 's side are keen on adding a new striker to their squad this summer after a woeful season last time out. ‌ A number of forwards have already been linked including Viktor Gyokeres - albeit he has now completed a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal. Sesko has now emerged as a back-up option, with the Slovenian having caught the eye for RB Leipzig over recent seasons. ‌ Newcastle are also interested, with Sesko seen as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool. But the Red Devils have moved to the front of the queue with the striker's own stance on a move. ‌ According to Sky in Germany, United chiefs have already been in touch with Sesko to lay out their project. They have also proposed figures to his representatives ahead of potentially launching talks with Leipzig. Luckily for United, Sesko has responded well, having been left impressed by what the Red Devils had to say. There is still some work to do on a deal though, with Leipzig wanting around £64m for their star forward. Meanwhile, boss Amorim has already spoken about what he wants from his new signings. He said: 'They have to want to come here. I think what we can do to the fans is that we want players who have proved [themselves] already. 'Sometimes you have a player with a lot of potential, you have to be aware of that, but all the players that are coming, we need to know the player. We need to talk to the player, we have to explain the project. 'And then one really important thing is that they want to come here. That is the key point. If during the market we can find someone that can help the team and have all that boxes with them, we are going to do it. If not, we cannot do it because it's an important time in our club.' ‌ Would Benjamin Sesko be a good signing for Manchester United? Share your thoughts in the comments below Sesko, who has scored 39 goals for Leipzig over the past two seasons, has already revealed what could help him make a decision - a potential new club's style of play. Speaking after he signed for Leipzig, he said: "The thing is, I wasn't really involved in these kinds of conversations, but I think it was better to come here. "It was very important for me to go to a place that plays a similar style of football. I already knew what I had to do and didn't have to go through a whole learning process again." He doubled down on that stance after penning a new contract with the German side last summer. He said: 'Leipzig has given me a lot and continues to give me a lot every day. It's a great club to develop at. In the future, I want to play for a club that suits me, that brings out the best in me. That's the most important thing for me.' Olympics legend Denise Lewis and Denise Van Outen join stars at The Grove for landmark event celebrating women's golf

The Grove, one of the UK's most prestigious golfing destinations, hosted a landmark event last week aimed at celebrating and elevating women's golf. The exclusive gathering, titled 'Fore! The Women's Game', welcomed a host of famous faces from the worlds of sport, lifestyle and entertainment for a day dedicated to elevating female golf and expanding its reach to new audiences. Guests included Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis, fellow Olympian Goldie Sayers and actress and presenter Denise Van Outen, along with a number of leading female content creators and athletes. While the group enjoyed time out on the course, the focus of the day was much bigger than the leaderboard. Van Outen hailed the event as a powerful moment for the women's game, saying: 'It has been an incredible day at The Grove, not just enjoying the game but being surrounded by so many inspiring women who are moving golf forward. 'The Grove has created an environment where women's golf continues to be elevated, and events like this are so important in showing what's possible when inclusion and ambition come together.' The event is just the latest move by The Grove, based in Hertfordshire, to champion gender equality in golf. The resort is a proud signatory of The R&A's Women in Golf Charter, which aims to create a more inclusive culture within the sport worldwide. Back in 2023, The Grove hosted the Rose Ladies Series Finale, created by former US open champions Justin Rose and and his wife Kate, to give female professionals more high profile playing opportunities. The venue has also made a point of building a strong and visible female workforce across its operation. Anna Darnell, General Manager at The Grove, added: 'Seeing such a dynamic group of women come together at The Grove for 'Fore! The Women's Game' has been truly inspiring. 'From content creators to sporting icons, each attendee brought energy, insight, and a shared passion for driving progress in golf. Events like this are vital in not only celebrating how far the women's game has come but also in shaping an inclusive and exciting future for the next generation. 'At The Grove, we remain committed to championing equality and creating opportunities for women to thrive at every level of the sport.'

Sarina Wiegman urges more investment in women's game at Downing Street reception

After successfully defending their European crown with a penalty shoot-out victory over Spain in the tournament's showpiece in Basel on Sunday evening, the England team flew home to attend a reception hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and sports minister Stephanie Peacock. The team arrived just before 7pm, with Number 10 decorated for the occasion with St George's flags draped over windows and bunting along the railings. England's manager Sarina Wiegman (right) takes a selfie during the Downing Street reception (Richard Pohle/The Times) As Wiegman rose to speak to those gathered in the Downing Street garden she joked that 'this is different from standing next to a pitch'. She added: 'I have to make my apologies (for giving) you lots of heart attacks. You all made it through and we made it through and that's why we're here now. 'The team is just incredible, we won the Euros but making the final, we're already legendary, what the team has done and the team behind the team. 'Thank you so much for having us here. It's very, very special to be here and to be in this very nice garden with the way you set it up with all these pictures, it makes it more special, it's the first moment it sinks in a little bit because it was surreal what happened last night.' Sarina Wiegman called for further investment in the women's game during a speech at Downing Street (Richard Pohle/The Times) Wiegman, speaking a few hours before the Government announced a new package of measures to boost access to grassroots football, used the moment to call for further investment in the game. 'This incredible team won the Euros and then straightaway sent a letter to you, the Government, asking for attention and asking for access to football for all girls,' Wiegman said. 'Steps have been taken but we're not done yet, we have to keep moving forward and we need a little bit more. 'I heard we need to change some things about taxes…I think we have that confirmation tonight. So let's move forward. 'We need some more investment. We're not there yet. In England we're up there but England needs to stay the trailblazer, it needs to be the big example. The players first but also the FA, the clubs, the Government, the country, the fans – let's keep being the trailblazers.' In her own speech, Rayner congratulated Wiegman's team on defending their title 'with grit, with determination and with skill'. 'You roared, and I know I wasn't the only one roaring with you,' Rayner said. Chloe Kelly scored the decisive penalty for England in the shoot-out after goalkeeper Hannah Hampton made two outstanding saves. The game had gone to extra time and spot-kicks after Alessia Russo cancelled out the opener from Arsenal team-mate Mariona Caldentey as it finished 1-1 following extra time. After almost a month of competition in Switzerland, the team's plane branded with the word 'home' touched down at Southend Airport on Monday afternoon. In a post on X, the team shared a photo of the Euros trophy draped in an England flag on a seat on the plane. Holding the trophy, captain Leah Williamson was first to step off the plane alongside Wiegman. Outside the airport, crowds were lined up to welcome the team and the trophy back home. The team were greeted by fans waiting outside the airport (Yui Mok/PA) A homecoming open-top bus parade follows in central London on Tuesday, where there will be a procession along The Mall and the celebration will finish with a staged ceremony at the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace. A trip to the Palace or Windsor Castle may be on the cards for the winning squad as it is understood possible plans for a reception in the autumn are being explored by royal aides. Defender Jess Carter has not joined her team-mates for the celebrations in London as she has returned to the United States ahead of Gotham FC's NWSL match against the Chicago Stars on Saturday.
