Kylian Mbappe Withdraws Moral Harassment Complaint Against PSG

News1807-07-2025
Mbappe's lawyer announced the decision ahead of Real Madrid's Club World Cup semi-final against PSG.
Kylian Mbappé has officially withdrawn his legal complaint against Paris Saint-Germain over alleged moral harassment, his lawyer confirmed on Monday.
'We are withdrawing our civil action," said Mbappé's lawyer, Pierre-Olivier Sur, in a statement to AFP, just days before Real Madrid—Mbappé's current club—face PSG in the Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
The Paris prosecutor's office had launched an investigation last month following a complaint from Mbappé, who claimed PSG mistreated him at the start of the 2023–24 season. The striker alleged that he was deliberately sidelined and forced to train with players the club intended to sell, after refusing to extend his contract.
The practice, criticized by the French players' union as a form of professional isolation, led the union to file a separate complaint in 2023 on behalf of affected players.
Mbappé was excluded from PSG's pre-season tour of Asia in 2023 and missed the first game of the season. However, he was later reinstated into the squad after talks with club officials.
The 26-year-old departed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 after seven seasons at PSG, during which he scored 256 goals in 308 appearances. Ironically, PSG clinched their first-ever UEFA Champions League title shortly after his exit.

NBA insider reveals real reason behind Victor Wembanyama's China trip for monk training

NBA insider reveals real reason behind Victor Wembanyama's China trip for monk training (Image Source: Getty Images) Victor Wembanyama made an unexpected turn this summer. The 21-year-old San Antonio Spurs star visited China rather than staying in France or working out with NBA coaches Stateside. Images came to light showing him working with Shaolin monks. Fans wondered about the reason, but the actual story behind this unexpected move is now coming to light and it speaks much about Wembanyama's mental attitude. Victor Wembanyama takes intense kung fu path in China to rebuild body and mind Victor Wembanyama did something unexpected this summer. Instead of training in the U.S. or France, he flew to China. Fans were surprised. Why was the NBA star at a Shaolin temple? What was he doing there? (Image Source: X) The 21-year-old didn't follow the usual path. Most NBA players work out in gyms. They train with coaches. But Wembanyama went somewhere different. He chose a temple known for kung fu, not basketball. He spent part of his offseason there. The place is old and full of history. It's where monks train their minds and bodies. It's not where you'd expect to find a 7-foot-4 athlete. According to Michael C. Wright of ESPN, Wembanyama stayed at the Shaolin Temple in Zhengzhou. He was there for 10 days in early July 2025. The temple is in Henan Province, China. It's world-famous for training monks in kung fu and mental discipline. Victor Wembanyama chose Shaolin monks over regular trainers Sources told Michael C. Wright of ESPN that Victor Wembanyama made the trip to challenge both his body and mind. 'He wanted something different,' Wright reported. 'It wasn't about shooting drills or weights. It was about control, focus, and learning how to move better.' Wembanyama used this time to study kung fu and body movement techniques. He worked on mental focus and learned how to position his body in new ways that may help his performance on the basketball court. According to Wright, this style of training could help him improve his flexibility and balance, skills that are beneficial for a big man in the NBA. 'He's always pushing himself,' said one team staff member who spoke anonymously. 'He doesn't think like other players.' The French star is also coming off a serious medical condition. In March 2025, he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. Now, he's been cleared to return to full training and plans to apply what he learned in China to his game. Wembanyama led the NBA in blocks in his second season, even though he only played 46 games. His efforts in China demonstrate his commitment to reaching his full potential. Nigeria's former President Buhari to be buried in Daura amid tight security

The former leader is set to be laid to rest in his family compound in the northwestern town of Daura, where chairs and tents have been set up in the courtyard to welcome mourners and his grave was being dug read more Nigeria's former president Muhammadu Buhari was on Tuesday set to be buried in his hometown, as funeral preparations got underway under the watchful eyes of a hefty security detail. The former leader is set to be laid to rest in his family compound in the northwestern town of Daura, where chairs and tents have been set up in the courtyard to welcome mourners and his grave was being dug. The compound security was so tight that some extended family found themselves locked out, according to AFP journalists on the scene. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Buhari, who died at the age of 82 in a London clinic on Sunday, ruled Nigeria first as a military putschist in the 1980s and then later as a self-described 'converted democrat,' serving two terms as president from 2013 to 2025. Residents of Daura have been making their way to his family home in Katsina state to pay their respects ahead of what is expected to be a traditional Islamic burial. But as his body made its way from England on Tuesday, a massive security presence was set up, cutting off what had been a bustling, buzzing house full of mourners over the past two days. Dozens of police and soldiers were guarding his family home Tuesday afternoon, while plainclothes officers patrolled inside. Deployed in advance of the politicians and other high-profile guests expected to attend, the heightened level of security was highly unusual for the typically sleepy town. Nigeria, particularly in the north, has for years suffered attacks from a jihadist insurgency and armed criminal gangs. Although he was elected on a mandate for change, Buhari's time in office failed to put an end to the violence. Family members locked out On Tuesday, security forces blocked the road to the family home, leaving mourners to make their way on foot. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The main doors to the home were barred by armed troops, who were only letting in a handful of mourners. The only media access granted was to Nigerian state television, as well as the local Katsina state broadcaster. Even Buhari's family members found themselves locked out, including Fatima Isah, who said she was the ex-president's 78-year-old niece. 'Buhari was my provider, but he is no more. To add to my torment, they have refused me entry,' said Isah, in between sobs. A man who said he was the nephew of Buhari was denied access to the compound and hurled insults at the soldiers. 'Are you the ones who are going to bury him?' he asked in a challenge to the guards, who ignored him. A security source told AFP that Buhari's remains will arrive by helicopter after landing at the Katsina airport. In the meantime, a crowd of more than 300 people had gathered outside the home in anticipation of the funeral prayers. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
