Scottie Scheffler once again took the bull by the horns on Sunday at the 50th edition of The Memorial Tournament. The World No. 1 shot under par for the fourth straight round at an extremely difficult Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. That culminated in a four-shot victory over Ben Griffin.
With the win, Scheffler joined Tiger Woods as the only players to go back-to-back at The Memorial. Maybe more impressively, the Ridgewood, New Jersey native made other PGA Tour history.
Sunday marked Scheffler's 16th PGA Tour victory. Only Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods needed less time between their first and 16th PGA Tour wins.
Among all of the memorable images following Scheffler's victory, it was his one-year-old son, Bennett, who stole the show.
As Scheffler's wife, Meredith, handed him his son to hold, an image of the three of them went viral.

Within the first few hours of golf journalist Kyle Porter's tweet going up, it had more than a million views. Why? Take a look at Bennett's back side. Scheffler's adorable son had a giant poop stain on the back of his onesie.
Every parent knows that comes with the territory. It is one thing to manage your infant's bowels, and another to always keep them from making a mess. But the world's best golfer, being the loving and amazing father that he is, does not seem to notice, or care if he did.
One year ago, Scheffler had just won his first tournament following his son's birth. Here we are a year later, and Scottie is celebrating his eighth since Bennett was born.

(Photo by) MoreThe level of consistency Scottie Scheffler has displayed is monumental. Even the great Jack Nicklaus was in awe of his level of play after Sunday's victory.
"He's playing better than I played and more consistent," Nicklaus said. "He's just been playing fantastic, and I love watching him play. Whether it's here or on the television or whatever it is, I love to watch. Anytime he's playing, I want to watch."
The 28-year-old keeps adding to his growing legacy. At this point, it is undeniable that he is playing the best brand of golf we have seen since prime Tiger Woods. That is a bold statement, but the stats back it up.
He will take the week off the celebrate and relax with family. Then the world will witness Scheffler go for his fourth major title at the U.S. Open in Oakmont in two weeks.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer spoke with the media at OTAs and informed the media members in attendance. He informed them that he had spoken to his best player on defense, and he believed that, despite Micah Parsons' MIA status, he believed his best player in defense would report to mandatory minicamp. I will be there! I haven't missed a mini camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook ! I'm preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! Walton County TDC pulls support for local PGA golf event

WALTON COUNTY, Fla (WMBB) – The idea of a PGA tournament in Walton County is on shaky ground. The county's Tourist Development Council backed it in April. But now, TDC board members say the price tag is too steep. PGA Officials originally proposed a five-year title sponsorship agreement starting at $6 million, with a 5% escalator each year. The total cost would be roughly $35 million. Walton County considers $35 million investment for 2026 PGA tournament 'You know, $30 plus million is, you know, very much a large amount of money to to dedicate to anything, you know, whether it's a PGA Tour, whether it's, you know, concerts, whatever that may be, you know, that's just a lot of money,' Walton County Tourism Director Matt Algarin said. PGA representative Charles Hamrick told commissioners the county would receive promotional ads and extensive media coverage that could mean millions for Walton County's tourism industry. Commissioners asked the TDC to look for sponsors to help underwrite the county's costs. They also asked Hamrick to explore a shorter contract to lower costs. The PGA agreed to shorten the contract, but won't negotiate the price. TDC board members unanimously voted to withdraw their support. Walton County's TDC looks to reinstate executive director 'This year, we've seen almost a 10% decrease in tourist development taxes. I'm concerned and the council is concerned about having to be required to spend $6 million plus over the next couple of years without really understanding what we have in the reserves, should a catastrophic storm occur, and being able to rebuild our community,' TDC Treasurer Tiffany Edwards said. TDC board members will meet with commissioners to explain their recommendation against the tournament. The final decision will be in the hands of county commissioners It will take four of the five commissioners to add the golf tournament to the Tourist Development Plan. The tournament is on the June 23rd commission meeting agenda. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
