This viral brand creates dupes of your faves, from Charlotte Tilbury to rhode, here's what to buy to save £££
It's why I've had a one-sided beef with MCo Beauty for a while. The Australian brand is a viral hit on the likes of TikTok and use packaging and product names that are really, really similar (like, painfully so) to bestselling products that we know and love; from the rhode Lip Peptide Treatments to Milk Makeup Hydro Grip, Dior Blush and the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter – in fact they have a lot of Tilbury 'dupes'.
Up until now, I've just watched on from afar as the brand wasn't available in the UK, but from today (21st of July) , the range is dropping in Superdrug. So, before you flock to buy the products (which are all under £15), I put some of the 'dupes' to the test.
The brand says: 'The MCoBeauty FLAWLESS GLOW LUMINOUS SKIN FILTER is a 4-in-1, multi-tasking, skin booster designed to give your skin the ultimate glowing filter-like finish! This versatile formula is designed to be worn alone for a lightweight subtle glow, under makeup as a luminous primer, mixed with foundation to add a light-reflecting glow, or on top of makeup as highlighter.'
A 'dupe' of: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter
Is it a dupe? Yes
Our review: Looking past how shamelessly the packaging dupes our queen Char Tilbs, I cannot deny how good this skin filter is. It gives the same luminous glow and blurring effect that we know and love from the original, at a snip of the price. It's also really comparable to e.l.f.'s Halo Glow.
The brand says: 'MCoBeauty PEPTIDE LIP TREATMENT combines conditioning and colour in a lip-glazing cream-oil formula. It has a non-sticky but sumptuous texture, providing your pout with the perfect amount of cushioning and plumpness with a glossy wash of colour.'
A 'dupe' of: rhode Peptide Tint
Is it a dupe? Yes
Our review: Considering that rhode has had a little bit of online backlash on the graininess of some of their famous lip peptide treatment colours (which they have since addressed and reformulated), I'd say this balm/gloss hybrid is a great alternative. It's almost a gel-like feel as it glides onto the lips and doesn't have any stickiness or gloopiness, and the pigment is impressive and lasts (event through a recent dental treatment) I've been reaching for this over my other balms recently.
The brand says: 'A 2-in-1 foundation and skincare powerhouse, the MCoBeauty MIRACLE FLAWLESS SKIN FOUNDATION has a creamy formula that evens skin's texture with buildable, medium coverage. The skin-nourishing ingredients help give boost moisture retention while smoothing and comforting skin. A fusion of Hyaluronic Acid and Coconut Water is blended with Rose Flower Water to work over time to revitalise skin's texture.'
A 'dupe' of: Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation
Is it a dupe? Yes (but with a caveat)
Our review: God's honest truth? I'm not a fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation. As an oily/combo girl, it's too dewy for me, and this foundation is exactly the same. The skin-nourishing nature of this trumps the foundation ability in my opinion, so within a few hours, I was shinier than a lighthouse at night. Oily gals, this is a miss, but drier skin types might like it.
The brand says: 'MCoBeauty GRIP ILLUMINATING PRIMER is a gel formula that helps you prepare your skin for makeup application and adds a natural-looking, soft-focus glow.'
A 'dupe' of: Milk Hydrogrip Primer
Is it a dupe? No
Our review: The texture of this is really similar to Milk Makeup's hero product and layers well under makeup, but honestly, this didn't work for me to help my makeup last longer, and I looked shiny by lunchtime.
The brand says: 'MCoBeauty's XTENDLASH TUBING MASCARA is our best-selling, award-winning innovative tubing mascara maximising length, curl and volume without flaking or smudging. The formula creates water-resistant 'tubes' around each and every lash for maximum length, definition and hold.'
A 'dupe' of: Glossier Lash Slick
Is it a dupe? Yes
Our review: I really like this tubing mascara. The brush is different to the Glossier mascara (which is plastic) but grabs every lash and lengthens without clumping. It melts off easily while cleansing. Some reviews say that it stings, and I haven't found that at all.
The brand says: 'The MCoBeauty HIGHLIGHT & GLOW BEAUTY WAND is the perfect illuminating liquid highlighter wand to achieve gorgeously glowing skin in a flash!'
A 'dupe' of: Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand
Is it a dupe? No
Our review: I like this product, but I found it's not as creamy as the CT Beauty Light Wands. It feels a bit stiffer to blend in, however the lasting power is pretty good. In this case, the quality aligns with the lower price point.
The brand says: 'The secret to achieving flawless makeup looks! MCoBeauty MIRACLE FLAWLESS SETTING SPRAY is a multi-purpose setting spray that perfects your makeup while moisturising your skin.'
A 'dupe' of: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Filter Setting Spray
Is it a dupe? No
Our review: Sadly, while it had a nice misting action, this did not set one iota of my makeup. To me, it could literally have been water in a misting bottle as I looked shiny within an hour of doing my makeup. Super disappointing.
The brand says: 'The MCoBeauty XTENDBROWS SHAPE & SCULPT PENCIL is a long-wearing and pigmented formula that fills in sparse brows with natural hair-like strokes. The nourishing formula is infused with Castor Oil and B5 to help condition and support the growth of brow hairs, while the precise triangle tip is perfect for creating natural hairlike strokes.'
A 'dupe' of: Kosas Brow Pop Pencil
Is it a dupe? No
Our review: I'm a big fan of the Kosas brow pencil, and the defining (ahem) feature that sets it apart from other brands is the super thin pencil nib – this formula doesn't have this. The pencil is creamy and applies smoothly to the skin with no pulling, but it doesn't grip onto the skin and wears away easily, so it's not one to wear to the gym.
The brand says: 'MCoBeauty MIRACLE FLAWLESS PRESSED POWDER LIGHT a makeup finishing powder to perfect your makeup looks. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and velvety with a soft appearance.'
A 'dupe' of: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder
Is it a dupe? No
Our review: This is a really lovely, finely-milled pressed powder, but doesn't have the je ne sais quoi of the beloved Tilbs powder. It works well for emergency touch-ups but as a setting powder, I found that the shine peeked through within a few hours.
The brand says: 'MCoBeauty BROW LAMINATE SCULPT & SET is the ultimate fusion of gel and wax that helps to style your brows'
A 'dupe' of: REFY Brow Sculpt
Is it a dupe? Yes
Our review: Take away the pink colour of the packaging and you have the spitting image of Brow Sculpt. I do really like the formula of this one too, it set my brows all day and didn't leave them flaky or crispy.

Cooked: Celebrated Chef exits new venture after allegedly balking at free food for influencer because she wasn't famous enough
A prominent San Francisco chef threw in the apron at his newly opened cafe after allegedly belittling a TikTok influencer during a tense exchange over her follower count aired out in a viral video. The incident unfolded Wednesday at Kis Cafe in Hayes Valley, when 'micro-influencer' @itskarlabb described how she had pre-arranged a collab with the restaurant's team and showed up early to film content, according to a video she posted to her platform. 3 Influencer @itskarlabb was allegedly belittled by top chef Luke Sung over her supposedly low follower count, leaving her running from his new California restaurant in tears. itskarlabb/tiktok The influencer, known as Karla, claimed that a man — later identified as celebrated James Beard Award-nominated chef and co-owner Luke Sung — questioned her 15,000-follower count and told staff it was a 'mistake' to invite an influencer so small. 'I know they're talking about me, because I can hear them saying 'TikTok, views, followers' ,' she said in a later video, which has racked up more than 20 million views. The influencer said that when she introduced herself, Sung grilled her over whether she had researched the restaurant, a wine bar serving small bites. She insisted she knew the menu and the vibe, but Sung disagreed and began scrolling through her TikTok feed at full volume within earshot, the influencer said. 'After scrolling like, two times, he says to me that he doesn't think my videos are at the level which he wants his restaurant represented,' she recalled. 'It seemed like he was insinuating that my followers would not be able to afford to eat at this restaurant.' 3 Sung couldn't take the heat after the pair's alleged exchange went viral and left his new venture. San Francisco Chronicle via Getty Images Sung then reportedly asked, 'Do you know who I am?' and told Karla he was a two-time James Beard Award finalist and that his daughter is Big Apple vlogger, Isa Sung, who has 600,000 TikTok followers. He also dismissed the influencer's cooking videos she posted to her platform, dissing them as 'homey,' Karla said. The belittling exchange left her in tears, she said. 'I told him I felt disrespected and didn't want to collaborate anymore,' the influencer said. Karla's follower count has since skyrocketed to more than 350,000 since she shared the story on TikTok. The influencer said she wants to 'be an advocate for micro influencers' who don't receive as many handouts. 'You don't need to have a million followers to be respected or feel like you're making a difference,' she said. 3 Kis Cafe, which opened in May, announced that Sung had left as chef and co-owner. FOX By Friday, Kis Cafe's was getting cooked on Yelp, where its rating plunged from four to five stars to just over two stars, and reviews for 'Isa '– a 'pioneering' Cal-French restaurant that Sung previously opened and named after his influencer daughter — grew with haters lambasting the chef for his behavior. Kis Cafe, which opened in May, soon announced that Sung had left as a chef and co-owner, later clarifying he had done so of his 'own accord' and was not technically fired. 'Our chef's behavior was unacceptable, and he is no longer a part of the team,' Kis Cafe wrote in an Instagram post Thursday. The restaurant said it has now temporarily closed to 'restructure.' 'We want to create a space that's welcoming and respectful to everyone. In this instance, we failed to do so,' Kis Cafe said in a statement.

See the Destiny's Child Reunion at Beyoncé's Final Cowboy Carter Show
THE RUNDOWN On Saturday night, Beyoncé thrilled fans on her final Cowboy Carter tour stop when she invited Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams on stage to reunite Destiny's Child for the first time in seven years. Fans shared footage from the moment on TikTok, which shows Beyoncé welcoming her colleagues to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as their song 'Independent Women' played. The Renaissance singer called out, 'Destiny's Child, bitch!' The famous trio performed a medley that included 'Lose My Breath,' 'Say My Name,' and 'Soldier.' Rowland and Williams also joined Beyoncé for her 2022 song 'Energy,' finishing with her famous 'mute challenge.' As it finished, Beyoncé sang, 'Look around, it's me and my crew. Big energy!' The reunion ended with the massive 2001 hit 'Bootylicious,' before Beyoncé hugged Williams and Rowland and then waved them offstage, telling the crowd, 'Give it up for Destiny's Child!' Beyoncé welcomed a few other guests for her final Cowboy Carter tour stop, including her husband, Jay-Z, and country music star Shaboozey. She and Destiny's Child were last seen together when Beyoncé headlined Coachella in April 2018. The star shared a picture with her friends on stage from the night in which they're all wearing variations on a gold ensemble, including fringed and shimmering gold chaps. In the image, Beyoncé is smiling widely as Williams leans in to give her a kiss on the cheek and they have their arms around one another. The group rose to prominence in the 1990s and originally had four members: Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett. The group transformed into the better known trio including Williams, but then disbanded in 2006. They have remained supportive friends and fans have been hoping to see them reunite for years.

Julia Garner spills on Silver Surfer secrets: 'I never looked so cool'
Julia Garner is enjoying her chrome era. There was instant fan love when Garner's Silver Surfer first appeared in a trailer for Marvel's 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' (in theaters now). Since then, the character has inspired Instagram cosplayers as well as TikTokers meme-ing her in-movie message, heralding the coming of planet-devouring Galactus. 'I don't have a TikTok,' Garner says. 'People have been talking about TikTok. They're like, 'Did you know that this was going to be a thing on TikTok?' I'm like, no. I'm in disbelief that people even know me.' Playing the silver alien Shalla-Bal, though, 'I never looked so cool in my life,' Garner adds with a laugh. 'This looks almost like a Met Gala look or some high fashion thing.' Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox Being in a Marvel movie is a departure for Garner, who won three Emmys for her role in the Netflix drama 'Ozark.' But she gets one heck of an entrance: In the retrofuturistic 1960s setting of 'Fantastic Four,' Shalla-Bal arrives in Times Square on a spiffy surfboard to warn that Earth is 'marked for death' and Galactus (Ralph Ineson) is on the way. Since she's the one who identifies the planets that will be her boss' next meal, Shalla-Bal has a 'toxic relationship' with Galactus. 'There's no HR,' Garner quips. However, her connection with Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), the Human Torch and youngest Fantastic Four member, is one that's actually meaningful to her. 'She finds him amusing, but she doesn't really want to show him. Secretly, I think she likes the attention.' Garner, 31, who says she puts 'love, rage and secrets' in every role she plays, did a deep dive into Shalla-Bal's comic-book history. In Marvel lore, she was the lover of Norrin Radd, and when he agreed to be Galactus' herald (and the original Silver Surfer) to spare their planet Zenn-La, they were separated. The actress was most surprised by 'actually how tragic her story is. If this was a human, you would be like, it's devastating. So that really resonated with me and helped ground it.' One thing she didn't find going down that geeky rabbit hole: Her character inspiring the 1989 Joe Satriani guitar track 'Back to Shalla-Bal.' In 2007's 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,' Doug Jones played the Radd version of the Surfer. But director Matt Shakman wanted to use Shalla-Bal instead because 'First Steps' was a different universe than fans have seen – it takes place on Earth-828, as opposed to the MCU's Earth-616 – and that choice made for a 'really interesting story line' with Johnny. A lot of attention was paid to how the computer-generated Shalla-Bal would appear. Garner portrayed the Surfer via a motion-capture suit and a helmet with a GoPro-type camera attached, and it was important to Shakman that Shalla-Bal was shiny and 'completely reflective' but still 'emotionally powerful,' he says. Another fun fact: Copper veining was added to the Surfer's facade. 'There's a sense of old weathered metal in places, just this idea that she's been doing this a long time and she's gone through some pretty inhospitable environments. So there's a touch of history to her.' Shakman also hooked Garner up with surfing adviser Tehillah McGuinness to guide her with Shalla-Bal's movement. 'She surfs a neutron star. She surfs a wormhole, she surfs real water, she surfs lava. There's a lot of great ways to make use of her Surfer-ness in the movie,' the director says. With McGuinness' help, Garner learned how to feel comfortable and balanced on the board, 'and not look clumsy, like you're in control,' she adds. Garner, who next stars in the horror film "Weapons" (in theaters Aug 8), found ways to add her own secret sauce to the Silver Surfer. For the opening message to humanity, she studied how T.S. Eliot would read his own poetry. 'It was very eerie in a way but also comforting at the same time,' she says. To get in Shalla-Bal's mindset before takes, she'd listen to spacey '70s krautrock music ('I just imagined that that's what she would be surfing to') and also learned to speak her character's fictional native tongue, Zenn-Lavian. 'It's not as hard as you would think. It's not like learning Japanese or something,' Garner laughs. 'Would I want a monologue in Zenn-Lavian? No. But I can say a few lines.' And while Garner became the Silver Surfer, she hasn't tried out her newfound board skills in real life. Nor will she. 'The water that I enjoy is that kiddie water that doesn't have any sort of wave,' she says with a smile. 'I'm quite scared of waves.'
