He's a nine-time winner from 56 starts and only needs to run up to the latest effort to be a winning chance again. 3. Tajawal has been racing consistently with a win at Taree three starts ago before a second behind Our Bambino here and then finishing third in the Orange Cup when last produced. He has the talent to bounce back to winning form here. 4. Ring Ahoy failed at Scone at his last start but had been racing well before that, including a third behind Our Bambino and Tajawal. 7. Tainui is lightly raced but has two wins and three seconds from just five starts and looms as a major player again.

1. Steel Claws has a string of placings to his name and went down narrowly when second at this track at his last start. He is ready to win and gets his chance here. 4. Cheeky Dancer ran well when placed at Hawkesbury at his second start, while 3. Dub wasn't far away when a last-start second at Scone. 7. Pappiana has been racing well of late and has solid place claims.
How to play it: Steel Claws to win.
Race 3
11. Sukeban has only had two starts and has performed well enough in both of them to be rated a chance here. He ran fourth at Goulburn last time out and was only beaten two lengths in that event. 9. Puffin ran fourth on debut at Quirindi and has won a trial leading into this. 5. Bullant is a last-start Wellington placegetter that should not be underestimated, while 4. Aylberdini ran third in a trial at Scone behind Puffin and shouldn't be taken lightly.
How to play it: Sukeban to win.
Race 4
1. Yanabah has been placed in two of five starts, including a last-start second at Gunnedah. He has the advantage of gate one here and an apprentice allowance. 4. Musumeci ran third in a trial at this track in preparation for this race debut and is worth plenty of thought. 11. This One Time resumed with a solid fourth at Scone and should have taken benefit from that hit out, while 3. Maxandus wasn't beaten far on debut at this track.

Former Kiwi Campaldino must have felt like he was back in his former homeland as he relished the heavy Eagle Farm conditions to take out the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2400m). SUBSCRIBE NOW! Immediacy was given a good run in transit by James McDonald but the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained gelding never fired a shot and was beaten out of sight. Punters zeroed in on former import Dillian, trained by locals Will and Peter Hulbert, and he was backed from $10 to $5.50 favourite in the belief he was a swimmer. Dillian was also well beaten but, meanwhile, Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Campaldino ($7.50) was enjoying the conditions under jockey Tim Clark. This was a big step up from wins at a midweek event and the Orange Cup. But the four-year-old who started his racing career on the other side of the ditch has now put three consecutive wins on the board. 'He relished the conditions and he's been a progressive horse and he is starting to put is all together now,' Bott said. 'There's more upside there and he is racing with a bit of confidence. 'We came up here with a bit of confidence the way he'd been working since his last run and the way he's been all preparation. 'When the rain came it filled us with confidence.' Bott said it was onwards and upwards towards the Group 2 Brisbane Cup over 3200m on Stradbroke Handicap day at Eagle Farm in a fortnight. Clark said Campaldino felt like a new horse. 'He made a really big leap there coming from midweeks,' Clark said. 'He's just been a different horse since Gai and Adrian took the blinkers off him. 'He was wanting to overdo it. With the blinkers off he relaxes really well. 'He conserves his energy and it was a really dominant performance there. 'The way he's relaxing in his races is the key and I'm sure over two miles he'll do the same.' The Waterhouse and Bott and Clark team was back in business in the following race with New Endeavour taking out the Group 3 Lord Mayor's Cup (1800m). It was the former import's first win Down Under but he did boast a runner-up finish in last year's Group 1 Doomben Cup. DANNY Williams is hoping a potentially special horse can deliver stable apprentice Dale Cole a special moment on the day he has his first race ride at Goulburn on Monday. Cole's debut has been a long time coming as his boss and admirer Williams explained. 'Dale was an apprentice electrician and came to me wanting to be an apprentice jockey,'' Shelby Sixtysix's trainer said. 'I think he had six months to go on his sparky's course and I said 'look, you want to continue that and get your certificate.' 'So he persevered with that and started riding for us. 'Then about 12 months ago this August, Dale was involved in a really severe accident. He got his foot caught in the iron and got dragged a couple of hundred metres. 'He fractured his pelvis, fractured his femur, tore a big hole in the inside of his leg where the leg pulled virtually apart, and broke five ribs and punctured a lung. 'It's a been a long process to get back. 'He started riding again late last year and he's finally back after a year and is having his first ride on Chemtrail on Monday.'' Chemtrail has done nothing but impress in his short time in public. The son of Cosmic Force was an emphatic trial winner at home at Goulburn, 20 days ahead of his equally dominant debut win in a Nowra Maiden last October. 'He is a nice horse,' Williams said. 'He's been a very slow maturing horse. We paid $20,000 for him at the yearling sales. 'I initially bought him as a pin-hooker (to re-sell) but he developed a bit of an issue behind and he started walking like he had stringhalt. 'We preserved quite a bit with the horse, in and out, in and out, and eventually it disappeared and then he won his first trial. 'Then when he went to Nowra we thought he would win very comfortably and to our surprise, he got a little bit lost and didn't show the speed he was showing us at home, but still won. 'He pulled up with a little muscle soreness after it so we turned him out and gave him a good spell in the paddock. Bet: Super Achiever to win, quinella 3,9 RACE 2 Flying Argento ran in the Derby before heading out to his trainer Gary Portelli's home-town for the Orange Cup where he left a lasting impression with some good work to the line behind a subsequent city winner, Campaldino. Form reads well for this. Stay Tuned is a typically sturdy Paul and Martha Cave trained staying type. One of his two wins was here at Goulburn. De Louviere is fit and in-form. Bet: Flying Argento to win, exacta 7 to beat 6 RACE 3 Kahraba is by Dundeel whilst her third dam is Travel Light who won the Queensland Oaks. It stands to reason then that Kahraba's only win so far, in 15 starts, was over 1800m at Hawkesbury. That said, her pattern has probably not helped her strike-rate. Nice race for her - fresh, today. Adventure Seeker has race fitness, the home-ground advantage and is on a hat-trick this time in. November Air is a horse on an upward trajectory. Bet: Kahraba each-way, quinella 2,4 RACE 4 Bonnyville remains winless after 13 starts but he has placed five times, three of them are seconds. The Yass-housed gelding is unplaced in all six starts on Good track so it could be that with the sting out today, he finally gets his reward. Evokes would have to be a rarity in as much as his dam is by Octagonal; wouldn't imagine there's too many of them left. Did some good things at his first preparation. Nice race for him this one. Bet: Bonnyville to win, exacta 1 to beat 2 RACE 5 Airliner's only win, in 18 starts, came back on August 27 on 2022 at Kembla, two starts after he finished 10th there to Think About It in a Maiden! Despite his poor strike-rate in terms of wins, he is one of those horses that is nearly always thereabouts be in the country, provincial or even Highway grade. The Predictor is racing exceedingly well, big run last start at Wagga, but may be wise to keep an eye on the track conditions; wouldn't want it heavy? Bet: Airliner to win RACE 6 Isagura has raced eight times for a win and three well as two fourths and a fifth so apart from being very well placed by her trainer, she is a very reliable filly. Just to seal the deal, this last start winner has barrier 2, Winona Costin at her home track. Zielle's only win in nine start was in fact her only visit to Goulburn. Hasn't been seen since but Danny Williams has found the perfect race, at home, 1000m, 4kgs off, for the son of Cosmic Force to resume. Drawn 10 of 12 here but jumped from 8 of 10 when he won at Nowra. Orthies beat Quein Step (runs in the last) on debut here then was probably even better again in defeat when fourth in a Class 1 at Hawkesbury. Power Smash beat a handy type here first-up 20-days ago. Bet: Chemtrail to win (best bet), exacta 3 to beat 6 RACE 8 Quein Step was bred, part-owned and trained by Ron Quinton. The daughter of Sidestep and Canterbury winner Skein drew 8 of 10, raced up on the speed, and went down fighting when a short head second to Orthies on debut here over 1000m on March 11. Honey Perfume is a Matthew Smith trained filly with three placings from four starts, one of them was a second to Wave Breaker which reads brilliantly for this. Outstanding trialler at Warwick Farm 11-days ago.
