Springfield woman arrested for allegedly stealing $400 worth of items at Old Navy
SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WWLP) – A Springfield woman was arrested on Wednesday for larceny at an Old Navy in South Windsor.
One arrested after crashing into police cruisers on I-291 in Springfield
The South Windsor Police Department states that 39-year-old of Springfield was identified as the suspect who stole $400 worth of merchandise at the Old Navy on Evergreen Way back in March. She was arrested on an active arrest warrant.
Rodriguez-Garay was processed and presented at Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday due to her already being in state custody on charges from other incidents. On May 27th, she was arrested after turning herself in for stealing $550 worth of merchandise at the same Old Navy back in April. She was processed and released on a $500 surety bond.

Suspected 'purple drank' found in baby bottle during arrest of wanted Springfield man
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A teenager from Springfield was arrested on a warrant for several firearm charges, and police recovered a loaded firearm and a baby bottle filled with a suspected illicit drug, known as 'purple drank.' In a news release sent to 22News, at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a detective with the Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) observed a known suspect who had an arrest warrant from Chicopee District Court for firearms offenses. The detective saw the suspect, 19-year-old Alexis Figueroa of Springfield, as a passenger inside a vehicle on Bay Street. An illegal firearm was found in his hoodie pocket, and Detectives also recovered a baby bottle filled with what is believed to be promethazine and codeine syrup. The suspected product in the baby bottle is an opioid cough syrup drink used as a recreational drug. Its street name is known as 'lean' or 'purple drank,' due to its color. Graduates mark new beginnings at Symphony Hall ceremony
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – High school graduates continue to celebrate new beginnings. One arrested after crashing into police cruisers on I-291 in Springfield Several schools held their ceremonies at Symphony Hall in Springfield. It included the High School of Commerce, Springfield Honors Academy, Early Career Academy at Rise, Aspire Academy, and Discovery. The ceremony included more than 170 students. 'I'm going to the National Guard, I did JROTC, so I'm looking forward to it,' said Jose Angel Morales, a graduate. Students will be heading to colleges across the country, including UMass Amherst. Springfield woman arrested for DUI, files false report after hitting trooper
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – On Tuesday morning, a woman from Springfield allegedly struck a state trooper, who was conducting a traffic stop on the Westbound side of the Mass Pike in Chicopee. Project Lifesaver launches in Chicopee to help locate wandering individuals 22News obtained a copy of the police report to learn how investigators could track down a suspect. Police made a quick arrest, charging 32-year-old Naisha Rodriguez in connection with the crash. According to the police report, Rodriguez was driving a work-issued car at the time of the crash. After the incident, Rodriquez allegedly told her employer that five people attacked her and the car was stolen. But her story about the alleged attack and car theft was debunked by surveillance video. When people were dispatched to her home, Rodriguez ended up filing a police report with the same information, which she told her employer. The Subaru was later found on Windemere Street in Springfield with pieces of the trooper's patrol jacket and blood stains reportedly on the car. Officers then obtained an arrest warrant and took the suspect into custody. She was arraigned in court Wednesday on charges of driving under the influence, witness intimidation, leaving the scene of the crash, and falsely reporting a stolen vehicle. At the arraignment Wednesday morning, state police cruisers and troopers filled the parking lot and courtroom of Chicopee District Court in support of the injured trooper. Rodriguez pleaded not guilty to the charges and was held on a $500,00 cash bail. The conditions of her bail include not using any devices while driving, staying away from alcohol, and wearing a GPS tracker. Rodriguez is set to be back in court for a pre-trial hearing on July 10th at 12pm.
