Premier League rivals to make Marcus Rashford transfer offer to 'escape' Man Utd

Newcastle United are ready to offer Marcus Rashford a chance to revive his career away from Manchester United, according to reports. Rashford is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer with United hoping to offload him on a permanent basis after a loan spell at Aston Villa during the second-half of last season. The England international is desperate to secure a dream move to Barcelona and is prepared to accept a significant wage cut if it means he is playing at the Camp Nou next season. But Rashford is not Barcelona's first choice with Liverpool star Luis Diaz and Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams reportedly preferred. Villa had the option to make Rashford's stay permanent for £40million but the forward is thought to have rejected Unai Emery's side. The Magpies will be able to offer Champions League football next season and are confident they can offer him the platform to revitalise his career on Tyneside. Newcastle's prized asset Alexander Isak is wanted by Arsenal with persistent rumours also suggesting Liverpool could consider a mammoth bid. But Newcastle have no plans to sell the Swede with Eddie Howe regarding Rashford as an ideal player to rotate the striker with ahead of a packed 2025-26 season in Europe and domestically. The report adds Newcastle are keen on a season-long loan deal with United desperate to offload him permanently – as is the case with other castoffs Jadon Sancho and Antony. I'm pretty certain Marcus Rashford has to leave for him and the club.' Former United captain Gary Neville said recently. More Trending 'I think that ship has sailed and he needs to find himself another club. 'I would worry that Aston Villa haven't announced that they're keeping him already because I think that could have been an easy deal to do with United if they were going to keep him, so it sounds to me like Villa aren't going to keep him. Mykhailo Mudryk charged by FA over anti-doping rule violation

An FA statement said: 'We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with anti-doping rule violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of regulations three and four of the FA's anti-doping regulations. Mudryk started only once in the Premier League last season (Steven Paston/PA) 'As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.' Mudryk could face a ban of up to four years under the FA's anti-doping regulations. Under Regulation 77, a four-year ban would result if the violation related to a non-specified substance, unless the player or his camp could establish that the violation was not intentional. Where the violation relates to a specified substance and the FA can establish the violation was intentional, a four-year ban would also apply. Specified substances are those considered more likely to have been consumed by an athlete for a purpose other than the enhancement of sports performance. A shorter ban could apply depending on other circumstances, such as whether it could be proved there was no intention to violate the regulations and whether the violation occurred in or out of competition. Chelsea have been approached for comment. Earlier this month Mudryk's number 10 shirt was given to Cole Palmer for next season, leaving the Ukraine international without a squad number at Stamford Bridge. In a statement issued at the time of his suspension, Mudryk said the positive sample had come as 'a complete shock' and he had 'not done anything wrong,' with Chelsea adding the player had 'never knowingly used any banned substances'. The result was returned shortly after he had been away on international duty with Ukraine in November, during which time the banned substance is reported to have been administered. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca initially said the winger was unavailable through illness to explain a four-game period that he was absent from the team prior to the suspension being made public. Mudryk was introduced to Chelsea fans on the pitch at Stamford Bridge in January 2023 (Mike Egerton/PA) Mudryk last played for the club in a 2-0 win away to Heidenheim in the Conference League on November 28. He was then an unused substitute for the 3-0 Premier League win against Aston Villa three days later. His last appearance in the league came on November 10 as a second-half substitute in a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal. Mudryk's time at Stamford Bridge has been dogged by inconsistency on the pitch. Brief flourishes of talent have been interrupted by periods of limited impact while his finishing and delivery from wide have frustrated supporters since his £88million move from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023. He has scored just 10 goals in 73 appearances in all competitions and has rarely held down a regular place in the team. Under Maresca his chances have been even more limited with most of his games coming in the cup competitions and in Europe, with just a single Premier League start in August's 6-2 win over Wolves.

Newcastle 'to offer Marcus Rashford Man Utd escape route' with summer swoop

England international forward Marcus Rashford is still expected to leave Manchester United this summer, despite his Aston Villa loan switch not leading to a permanent move Newcastle United could give Marcus Rashford a route back into the Champions League. The Manchester United forward's time at Old Trafford looks to be up, but his options are limited. Barcelona had been thought to be Rashfird's preference, but the Catalan club have been eyeing other targets. Nico Williams and Luis Diaz are high on their list, with Williams looking the more likely at the time of writing. ‌ Rashford impressed on loan at Aston Villa in the second half of last season. A move back to Villa Park appears unlikely, though, after Unai Emery's side missed out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the season. ‌ It was Newcastle who took the Premier League's final Champions League spot, finishing above Villa on goal difference. And now, according to The Sun, they could be the ones to hand Rashford another shot at European football. Thintw might not be completely straightforward, though. The same publication suggests Newcastle are pursuing a season-long loan deal while his current employers would prefer a permanent sale. Rashford scored four goals in 17 Villa appearances, also providing six assists. Two of those goals came in the Premier League as Emery's men pushed for a top-five finish, but he missed the final few games of the season after picking up a hamstring injury. "Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what has ( injury aside) been an incredible few months for me," he wrote on Instagram after the final weekend of the season. "It is a really special club and I appreciated the way Villa fans embraced me with open arms from 1st minute on the pitch. "Manager, team, and coaching staff have all been brilliant. I know it is a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League place which everyone worked so hard all season for but I know this club and team will come back stronger." ‌ Rashford is under contract at Manchester United until 2028, but isn't expected to remain at the club. Back in December, the month in which he made his most recent appearance for his boyhood club, he spoke about a desire for a fresh challenge. "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," the England international was quoted as saying by Henry Winter. "When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person. "If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. I'e seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me."
