CRYSTAL PALACE were inspired to FA Cup glory by an incredible tifo with a heartwarming meaning.
The Eagles made history on Saturday as they lifted their first-ever trophy with a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Ebere Eze's 16th minute strike was enough to seal glory at Wembley.
While Dean Henderson avoided a red card for handball before saving a penalty moments later.
The game even ended with a clash between Henderson and City boss Pep Guardiola, who was left fuming at full-time,
But there was a major inspiration behind the Eagles' brilliant victory in north west London.

Before kick-off, a stunning tifo was unveiled by Palace fans bearing the message: 'Wembley will shake… and it will be beautiful.'
Alongside was an image of a Palace fan celebrating with two children.
And during the match, the club explained the heartwarming reason behind the tifo.
Posting a tweet, which also showed the original picture it was based on, Palace explained all with a caption declaring: 'Best fans in the world.'

They said: 'After Darren Ambrose's 40 yard screamer against Manchester United in 2011, the cameras panned to the away end and, amidst 3,000 supporters jumping for joy, found an adrenalised red-and-blue clad supporter, Mark Wealleans, screaming with passion while holding up two young Palace lads who — then nine and six-years-old — responded by bursting into tears.
'Tragically, Mark Wealleans, a proud south London and Season Ticket holder, lost his life in February 2017, aged just 49, five months after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

CRYSTAL PALACE secured their first ever trophy with a famous FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.
The Eagles went into the match as underdogs but managed to nullify the former Treble winners with a spectacular defensive display.
And at the heart of it was goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who could have been sent off for handling the ball outside the box before making the most of his reprieve.
The goalkeeper went on to save a penalty from Omar Marmoush before producing a string of saves to keep Pep Guardiola's men out.

The tifo certainly seemed to do the trick for Palace.
Oliver Glasner's men put in a monstrous defensive effort to keep City at bay, with goalkeeper Henderson putting in several big saves.
But the stopper was lucky to be on the pitch after handling the ball outside his own half.
He was only saved from a red card thanks to a controversial VAR check after swatting the ball away from a goal-bound Erling Haaland.
And the decision proved to be pivotal as Henderson went on to save a penalty from Omar Marmoush just 10 minutes later.
Pep Guardiola was left raging at full-time as he clashed with Henderson, who dedicated Palace's incredible win to his late father.
And it was the goalie who had the last laugh as he joined teammates for a trophy lift they and Palace's fans will never forget.

He said in April: 'For the age, I'd like him to stay. But I understand players want more minutes. He can play different positions but I don't know how the squad will be and we will see.' Another factor at play is that McAtee's contract expires in 2026 - leaving the City hierarchy to either hand him a new deal or cash in before he becomes a free agent. The academy graduate has excelled on loan in the Championship previously, but would command a higher move were he to head away from the Etihad. McAtee himself is keen on a move to the Bundesliga, where he's been linked with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen. He's seen first-hand how young English players have thrived in the Germany environment with Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham among them. Letting McAtee leave would represent a risk for Guardiola, who has copped criticism for allowing City's academy products to leave before giving them a proper shot. Oldham Athletic battle from behind to return to Football League in match against Southend
Oldham Athletic have returned to the football league after a nail-biting three two win against Southend United at Wembley. The Latics came from behind twice to equalise, the first with a penalty in the second half, before scoring twice late into extra time to secure the win in front of more than 50,000 fans. The victory means Oldham return to the League 2 in the EFL after being relegated for the first time in their history three years ago. It follows three 'dark decades' which saw them drop down the divisions from the Premier League, and ultimately relegated to non-league in 2022. But it marks a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for the team under new owner, local business man Frank Rothwell, who took over the club in the summer of 2022. Around 21,000 Oldham fans made the trip to Wembley for their first visit to the national stadium in more than 30 years, since their FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United in 1994. Oldham twice came from behind in front of a record crowd of 52,115 to grasp the win. Substitutes James Norwood and Kian Harratt scored within the space of two minutes after Leon Chambers-Parillon had restored Southend's lead just seconds into extra time. An early own-goal from Manny Monthe had given the Shrimpers the lead, but was cancelled out by Joe Garner's penalty after Monthe had been brought down in the area. Oldham boss Micky Mellon unsurprisingly named the same starting XI which won 3-0 against York in the semi-final, only to see his side concede their first goal of the play-offs with just four minutes on the clock. Gus Scott-Morriss pounced on a loose pass in midfield and chipped the ball into the area for Charley Kendall to chase and his presence was enough to pressure the unfortunate Monthe to loft the ball over his own goalkeeper. Garner came close to an equaliser when his header from Tom Pett's corner came back off the post and Oldham felt they should have had a penalty when Mike Fondop went down in the area under a challenge from Harry Taylor. Taylor did not appear to get much of the ball but referee Elliot Bell waved away the appeals and the Oldham fans suffered more frustration in the last minute of the half as Fondop missed a golden chance to equalise. A defensive clearance was charged down and left Fondop through on goal, but after clipping the ball over goalkeeper Nick Hayes he could only look on as it drifted agonisingly wide of the post. It took less than a minute of the second half for Oldham to finally get back on level terms, Garner calmly scoring from the penalty spot after Monthe had been brought down in the area. Neither side was able to find a winner in normal time but Southend regained the lead just seconds into extra-time, goalkeeper Mathew Hudson parrying a deflected cross from Scott-Morriss straight on to the head of substitute Chambers-Parillon to head into the empty net. Oldham refused to throw in the towel and Norwood got them back on level terms for the second time when he latched on to a long ball through the middle and took a deft touch around Hayes before slotting the ball into an empty net. And just two minutes later Oldham grabbed the winner as Harratt's curling cross evaded everyone in the area before nestling into the far corner to send the Latics fans wild.
