Paul Pogba is set to complete his move to Monaco this week as he returns to competitive football following a doping suspension.BBC Sport revealed this month that the France midfielder was in advanced talks over a two-year contact at the Ligue 1 club.Sources close to the deal have indicated an agreement is in place, with Pogba expected to arrive in his homeland from his temporary base in the United States in the coming days to have a medical before signing.Former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Pogba was provisionally suspended after being randomly tested following Juventus' opening game of the 2023-24 season against Udinese.The World Cup winner later received a four-year ban which was slashed to 18 months in October following an appeal.He has been free to recommence his career since March after reaching an agreement with Juventus to leave the Italian club.In the final judgement of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) it was confirmed Pogba inadvertently took DHEA, a substance which boosts testosterone and is on the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) banned list.Crucially, however, the ruling stated DHEA only has an affect on females.

Meanwhile, Rashford has already expressed his desire to move to Spain and play alongside Spain starlet Lamine Yamal. He said: 'Yeah, sure. Everybody in the world wants to play with the best. So hopefully, we'll see.' When asked about a switch to Barcelona, he cheekily replied: 'We'll see.' Rashford added: 'Spain is nice, not too far from home. If I train here for a long time, it's good, because my family can come and see me for a few days, it's only a three-hour flight. The weather is nice here.' Barcelona sporting director Deco has also spoken out on his side's intent to add to their wide options ahead of the new season amid their interest in Williams and Rashford. Speaking last week, he said: "We need to strengthen in this position. "As wingers, we only really have Lamine [Yamal] and Raphinha. From there, there are names coming out and it will come down to price and quality. "Nico was there last year but for me, at that time, Dani Olmo was the priority. Now. the same as with other players, Nico is showing a strong desire to come ... And if the right conditions are met in his case, we'll definitely try to complete the deal. "There's a process with any signing: speaking with agents, clubs, knowing the contractual situation ... Nico's case it clear because he has a release clause. We've met with his agent to see what he wants and we will see if it's possible."

Dusan Vlahovic has made it clear what Manchester United and Ruben Amorim can expect from him if he completes a swap deal from Juventus this summer, with Jadon Sancho potentially going the opposite way Dusan Vlahovic has let Ruben Amorim know exactly the type of player Manchester United could be getting if they sign him this summer, saying he 'likes pressure' and is 'totally dedicated' to football. The Juventus striker has been linked with the Red Devils this week as part of a swap deal which would see him join United and Jadon Sancho head to Turin. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serbian is deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus, who will try to offload him while securing United wantaway Sancho. Amorim is currently in the market for a new striker and, with Vlahovic inside the final 12 months of his contract, swapping Sancho for the 25-year-old could be a financially savvy move. United have been guilty of splashing out huge sums of money in recent years on various players who have crumbled under the bright Old Trafford lights, becoming a shadow of the players they once were. But Vlahovic presents a low-risk transfer opportunity both economically and due to the fact that he prides himself on his mental strength. When asked by The Telegraph if he feels any pressure back in 2022, the Serbia international was almost insulted by the suggestion. He said: 'I like pressure. I like high expectations because I like the kind of adrenalin that comes out. I have never really suffered too much from pressure. Maybe when I was younger but not now and in 10 years time I will probably feel even better about it. I don't really care too much when people talk about pressure.' The expectations are indeed high at United, where the team is expected to win silverware and qualify for Europe next season despite finishing near the relegation zone this term. Yet, Vlahovic appears to have the appetite to succeed - something Amorim undoubtedly values highly. He added: 'I never want to rest. I am dedicated 24/7 and when I go home, what do I do? I watch football matches! I watch to have fun, to enjoy, but also to learn and improve. You notice things and figure them out and think, 'I could have done this or that.' 'I like spending time with my family, who have always been my force, and friends. I don't like video games. I am not very good at them. I prefer going for a walk! 'In the past I had the time to read books, but not now. Basically I am completely dedicated to football and, for me, it's only the beginning, by the way. The best is yet to come.' It remains to be seen, however, if Vlahovic would entertain a move to the struggling Premier League side. He is said to have been 'unreceptive' to previous offers to leave Juventus and already snubbed proposals from Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Vlahovic is also no stranger to Premier League links. He was pursued by Arsenal before signing for Juve in a £60million deal back in 2021 and has also been the subject of interest from Chelsea in the past. Juventus are expected to push to sign Sancho, who is no longer wanted at Old Trafford, even if Vlahovic is not part of the deal. Gazzetta dello Sport claims they are willing to offer other players to United in a bid to get a deal for the winger over the line, including midfielder Douglas Luiz. Sancho is expected to leave the Red Devils on a permanent deal after Chelsea paid £5m to waive their obligation to buy clause at the end of his unsuccessful season-long loan move at Stamford Bridge. Napoli have also been credited with an interest in Sancho's services, but Juve are pushing to beat the Italian champions to a deal. Monaco, who are in the Champions League, are ready to take a put on the World Cup winner with Le Parisien reporting last week that Pogba was set to join the Ligue 1 side on a free transfer after agreeing a two-year deal. They claimed he had "made significant financial sacrifices" to secure the deal. It would be a huge boost for Monaco with Pogba potentially returning to his homeland for the first time since leaving Le Harve in 2009. However the player has come out and poured water on the idea of heading to the Riviera. He said on Sergio Aguero's podcast, La Casa del Kun: "I haven't signed anything, but there's interest. We'll see." Pogba has also flirted with the idea of heading to South America to play with Argentine giants Boca Juniors, citing their fans as a huge draw. He said: "In life, you never know. I loved the people who went to see Boca's match (at the Club World Cup), it's crazy because I went to Marseille, which is hot, Naples is hot, but Boca... I've never seen that in my life." The Frenchman's career is yet to hit the heights that were once expected of him. He first hit the heights when he left Manchester and excelled at Juventus, which prompted those at Old Trafford to spend a club-record fee to bring him back when Jose Mourinho was in charge. However his six years in Manchester were hugely inconsistent and, after claiming two trophies in his first year, he failed to pick up anymore silverware. He return to Juventus when his contract expired but the Old Lady were not the force of old and his stint was somewhat underwhelming. Pogba did previously underline his desire to again play for Les Blues during an interview with Sky Sports. He said: "I hope. It is in my mind for sure. I have to be ready for that.
