Flea, the great bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, isn't just one of the Los Angeles Lakers' most famous fans — he's also one of their most devoted fans. He has followed the team for over 40 years, and through all the ups and downs, his loyalty has never wavered.
He first fell in love with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and the Showtime Lakers, but years later, he found a new superstar to back when the franchise traded for the draft rights to a 17-year-old named Kobe Bryant in 1996. Bryant played all 20 seasons of his legendary career with the Lakers and drove them to five NBA championships while elevating their legacy and fame to even greater heights.
In an interview with Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson, Flea recalled a special memory involving him and the late Hall of Famer before a big playoff game.

'I think it was the Western Conference Finals against the Spurs and I did the anthem and I was in hallway in the back waiting to do the anthem and he came out and I knew when he came out, but I knew he had the game face on, like serious, you know what I mean?' he said.
Bryant was famous for his iron-clad focus, intensity and will to win. But he still made some time to acknowledge the famous musician.
'He went out of his way to come over and say hello and I really appreciated that, you know? Because he knew my energy was dedicated.'
Bryant died in a tragic helicopter crash along with his daughter Gianna and seven others in January 2020. But fans from all walks of life will never forget the memories he provided and the special touch he had with people.

His elite defense and ability to effectively guard multiple positions, combined with his decent 3-point shooting and willingness to sacrifice his body for loose balls, have made him a valuable role player.

Almost two months after his knee injury, LeBron James is back on the court. The Los Angeles Lakers star shared a video of a workout in New York on Instagram on Monday, which came roughly eight weeks after he sustained an MCL injury in the playoffs. 'Obviously not where I wanna be ultimately but off to a good start,' he wrote, in part. 'Damn what a GREAT FEELING!!' Advertisement James went down in the Lakers' elimination loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs after he collided with Donte DiVincenzo. James briefly left the game, but returned to finish it out. The Lakers ended up losing 103-96 . James averaged 24.4 points and 8.2 assists in 70 games last season with the Lakers while earning his 21st All-Star nod. The Lakers, however, fell in the opening round of the playoffs for a second straight season. James has yet to comment on his plans for next season, though many expect that he'll opt-in to a $52.2 million player option and return to the Lakers. That would mark his 23rd season in the league. NFL legend calls LeBron James 'the greatest ever'
LeBron James treated sports fans to a special event in New York City on Saturday. At Fanatics Fest, which was held at the Javitz Center, he hosted live versions of "The Shop" and the "Mind the Game" podcast. For "The Shop," he was joined on stage by legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Brady retired following the 2022 season, and he is considered by most to be the greatest player, or at least the greatest QB, in the history of football. Brady appeared to glaze James a bit when he referred to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar as "the greatest ever." 'You're witnessing the greatest ever and I hope you all appreciate that,' Brady said. The debate about where exactly James belongs on the list of the greatest players in NBA history rages on, but his accomplishments speak for themselves. He became the league's all-time leading career scorer two years ago and is now at 42,184 regular-season points and 50,473 points in the regular season and playoffs combined. He has won four NBA championships (although he has lost six times in the NBA Finals), has won four league MVP awards and is one of a handful of players who have at least one scoring title and one assists title. James has a player option for next season. The 40-year-old is expected to play at least one more season in the league, and what he does beyond that is anyone's best guess at this point.
