Rockets unveil fan promotions for initial set of home playoff games
To encourage punctual attendance and provide an optimal home-court advantage to the team, the Houston Rockets unveiled a series of fan promotions ahead of their first-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors (schedule). Limited tickets are still available for purchase at Rockets.com.
Game 1 is this Sunday, April 20, with Game 2 on Wednesday, April 23. Because Houston (52-30, No. 2) is the higher seed, the first two games will be played at home inside Toyota Center. Game 5 and Game 7 of the best-of-seven series, if necessary, would also be home games.
For the first two (confirmed) games, the Rockets announced these promotions:
Fans who arrive early to Games 1 and 2 will be treated with happy-hour promotions leading up to tipoff. For both games, there will be $5 domestic beers from the time doors open at 7:00 p.m. until the start of the game along with $5 deals for hot dogs, popcorn tubs, and pretzels.
Sunday's game will also feature a Liftoff block party outside of the main Toyota Center entrance from 6:30-8:00 p.m. local time. A wide variety of activities will be available for fans, including inflatables, face painters, balloon artists and a make-a-sign station. Fans will also be able to enjoy the happy-hour drink specials at an outdoor beer garden. On the concourse prior to tipoff, fans will have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the Willis Reed Trophy the Rockets were awarded by capturing the 2024-25 Southwest Division title.
Every fan in attendance for Game 1 will receive a special t-shirt branded with LIFTOFF in glow-in-the-dark print, presented by Toyota. For Game 2, Memorial Hermann is providing all fans at the game with a commemorative playoff t-shirt.
The 2025 NBA playoffs are the first with games in Houston since May 2019. The Rockets are 29-12 at home in the 2024-25 season, including 12-3 since February's All-Star break.
Tipoff of both Sunday's Game 1 and Wednesday's Game 2 will be at 8:30 p.m. Central, with a national television broadcast available via TNT and a regional one featuring the team's broadcasters via Space City Home Network.

Browns, Eagles offensive linemen talk over Miller Lites after joint practice
The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles held joint practices this week with the Cleveland Browns ahead of their home preseason matchup Saturday afternoon. One player who won't be suiting up for that game is Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson. The three-time Pro Bowler suffered a leg injury earlier in training camp. He had minor surgery but may be back in time for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4. He's on the sidelines for practice wearing a knee brace in the meantime. Once today's practice finished up, it was Miller Time for him and his fellow linemen. Dickerson seen talking with Cleveland offensive linemen Wyatt Teller and Joel Bitonio while enjoying some Miller Lites after practice finished up. The Eagles and Browns have two of the most-acclaimed offensive lines in the league. Their projected starters this season have made a combined 20 Pro Bowls and 15 All-Pro teams (six first-team, nine second-team). With Dickerson out, backup Brett Toth has been working in with the Eagles' starters. If Dickerson misses time, he'll be the second new starter in 2025 for the Eagles' front along with right guard Tyler Steen. The former third-round pick is taking the spot left by free agent departure Mekhi Becton, now in Los Angeles. The Browns wrap up their preseason slate against the Los Angeles Rams on Aug. 23. Philadelphia finishes off their preseason schedule a day earlier on the road against the New York Jets.

Is 2025 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard ready to start for the Boston Celtics?
Is 2025 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard ready to start for the Boston Celtics next season? There have been reports out there suggesting that the Celtics floor general has garnered the role this coming 2025-26 NBA regular season, edging out new arrival Anfernee Simons for the job, despite Simons having that role in his former home with the Portland Trail Blazers. Does it make sense for Pritchard to start for Boston next season, or would it make more sense to showcase a player the Celtics are reportedly trying to trade before the 2026 deadline. One person who knows what it is like to man the point for Boston is Celtics floor general alum Jeff Teague, who took some time on a recent episode of his "Club 520" podcast to talk over whether he thinks Fast PP is up for the challenge. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what he had to say about Pritchard at the point in a starting role next season. Listen to "Havlicek Stole the Pod" on: Spotify: iTunes: YouTube:

'NBA 2K' has a fascinating WNBA integration coming
The upcoming version of NBA 2K will try something for the first time and it is incredibly exciting for folks who are fans of men's and women's hoops. For fans who play MyTEAM on NBA 2K26 when it comes out, they'll have the opportunity to collect WNBA Player Cards for the first time. They can pair both current and historic WNBA stars with current and historic NBA players on the same team. The press release announced that players can "mix and match" stars from both league and gave examples like pairing Paige Bueckers and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or throwing a lob from Sheryl Swoopes to Shaquille O'Neal. 'MyTEAM is where competition meets a basketball fan's wildest imagination,' said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts. 'By integrating the WNBA into one of our most popular modes, we're not only giving players the opportunity to customize their all-time dream rosters but shining a spotlight on some of the game's most iconic hoopers. We're looking forward to giving our players a new and deeper way to engage with the WNBA. But there is so much more coming to MyTEAM this year - from All-Star Team-Up to new weekly cash prizes in King of the Court, there have never been more ways to compete with friends and win big.' Per the release, attributes and badges function identically for WNBA and NBA players to ensure "balanced, consistent" gameplay. More: NBA 2K26 new rebound timer is an example of the game's larger problem You can watch the trailer, narrated by Buckers, above. Her avatar is wearing a Dallas Mavericks jersey and later, she is featured playing alongside Cooper Flagg. The trailer also features Reese and Shaq, who both played for LSU, wearing WNBA's Chicago Sky uniforms. Luka Dončić is seen playing alongside Brittney Griner. This is a lot of fun, and while it is currently only part of MyTEAM and not Play Now, it is still a really cool idea that should make for some awesome moments.
